🌳 a writer who loves to convey feeling

🌲 a mother who wants to have just as much fun as my kids do

🌳 an outdoors-lover who's achieved #1000hoursoutside with my family

🌲 a low-maintenance self-carer

🌳 a general hungry person with an unstoppable sweet tooth

You'll find me collecting stationery and squirreling away stickers, riding bikes and swimming with my family, creating outfits in colors and silhouettes that make me feel amazing, wearing big earrings, drinking beer and asking my husband to feed me harmonies to sing, taking my vitamins, living for dancing to live music, roping everyone into a craft, being human and vulnerable, and celebrating the phenomenon of being alive.

...and doing it all with energy, delight, and jokes along the way.

I e done many subscription boxes including book ones.. while some are more expensive the purchasing in the store (ie books) these subscriptions take me out of my norm. They allow me to receive books (and toys) I would have never looked at or for.

Not to mention Dolly Parton’s imaginary library which is absolutely free. So bless Dolly Parton for saving us all this money. I was hoping this would help parents out with affordable pricing like ipsy. All this looks like dollar tree over priced items. In my opinion. I would buy it maybe at one dollar each maybe.

I wanted to try Koala. The forms to fill out were confusing, especially as the gift I was ordering in Idaho; I wanted shipped to Florida. Finally, I ignored some of the verbiage and got it filled out, only to find they did not take Paypal. I won’t give out my credit card anymore, so bummer, I won’t order.

This is one of the worst websites I have ever encountered to order and under stand if the order has been placed or not. Also, my wife could NOT get it to complete so she could enter the CC info so I ended up having to do it. Such a wasted of my time. 3 days of more than45 minutes each time. Fix this site and give a phone number for problems. PLEASE

Subscriptions makes a child excited to check the mail, to have something that is just for them…something that makes them feel important. It’s not about the money, my daughter is 3 and she loves “writing” letters and receiving them.

Shauna Rae Robinson

How fun! I don’t know anyone who would think, especially in this day and age, to correspond through the mail with a child like that! I think that’s wonderful! Sending letters and cards! Oh I wish I knew a little one I could do this with! 🙂

I don’t understand why anyone subscribes to the book clubs, they are so overpriced IMO. Children’s books are cheaper at TJ Maxx, on Amazon, Target and Amazon both regularly have buy 2 get 1 free book offers…if you are in the US and have an Ollie’s, they sell board books for $2. Not to mention buying used.

I don’t even understand why there are so many of that type of sub.

Reply ButtonReply

Christen Russo

Good tip, Amber, I didn’t know that! I think sometimes people like to sign up for a box whose curation they like and trust, and be surprised by what they are sent. Also for books especially, some folks like to support smaller businesses. I personally am more of a library-goer with my little gal. She can play and bring books home, it’s a 2-in-1 outing. But I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for some kids books next time I can make it to TJ Maxx!
