From cute dresses to cool workwear, these plus-size clothing subscriptions give you an easy, comfortable way to shop. You’ll build your wardrobe on your own schedule without ever stepping foot in a dressing room. That’s one of our favorite features of these services: We’re most comfortable in front of our home mirror, and clothing boxes allow us to avoid buyer’s remorse while actually enjoying our clothes.

Every year, we ask our readers to share their top recommended subscriptions of all types. Then we ask our experts to share what they know about each subscription to make it easy for you to know which subscription is right for you. Below, you’ll find our insights for shopping plus-size clothing subscription boxes, and see readers’ top choices for clothes to rent, clothes to keep, styling services, and shoppable brands.

What To Look For When Shopping Plus-Size Clothing Subscriptions

Many clothing subscription services offer personal stylists, which are ideal if you’re stuck in a fashion rut or looking for inspiration. Several companies offer rental-based models to cut closet clutter while limiting environmental impact, and these services can be an affordable way to experiment with new looks. Start by deciding which approach you'd like to take. Either way, you’ll never have to worry about finding a great piece of apparel, only to discover that it’s available in straight sizes only.

Browse this list to find the best clothing subscription and rental options for plus-size women, and take advantage of the promo links and codes we've provided wherever possible. Decide whether you’re looking for workwear, chic lingerie, jeans, workout clothes, shoes that offer wide sizes, or something else, and once you've landed on the clothing subscription that looks right to you, take a peek at our comments section to grab some quick tips from our community before signing up!

Best Plus-Size Clothing Subscription Boxes, Both to Rent and to Keep

1. Stitch Fix

The Best Plus-Size Women's Clothing Subscription Overall

Image via Stitch Fix.

What’s In This Plus-Size Clothing Subscription Box

Who says you can’t afford a personal stylist? Stitch Fix asks for your unique style, sizing, and preferences, then a personal stylist chooses five articles of clothing and accessory items from a variety of brands to match your preferences. Try everything on in the comfort of your home, keep what you love, and return anything you don’t want. Returns are free, and your styling fee can be applied towards the cost of your order; in other words, while you’re paying a styling fee, you’ll probably get your money back.

We like that you can get Stitch Fix “Fixes” on a one-off basis (say, if you have an event coming up) or on a recurring basis. A plus-size clothing subscription is a great idea if you’re looking to refresh your wardrobe.

Stitch Fix also offers maternity, kids, and men’s clothes, too, so you can easily cut out trips to the department store (and keep your family looking snazzy) with a few subscriptions. The service legitimately listens to customer feedback, and its stylists are on par with any of the other services on this list. With free shipping, returns, and exchanges, Stitch Fix is revolutionizing the shopping experience by removing the stress and hassle.

Sizes Available: Up to 24W and 3X.

Pros

  • Free shipping + returns.
  • Discount if you keep everything.
  • Same stylist every time, so they can get to know your style.

Cons

  • $20 styling fee applied if you don't keep anything.
  • If you don't love your Fix, limited options for swapping.

2. Dia & Co. Style

Best Plus-Size Clothing Subscription for Current Style

Image via Dia & Co.

What’s In This Plus-Size Clothing Subscription Box

Dia & Co. Style is a plus-size women’s clothing subscription service with an awesome selection of gorgeous and empowering apparel. You’ll find everything from workwear to jeans and activewear.

Whether you’re looking for a cute dress, top, jacket, or anything else, you’ll find options to build a better wardrobe, and you’re not stuck with one or two brands — regardless of your taste or lifestyle, you’ll find something to love.

If you’d prefer to do your own shopping, you can browse their store, but the company’s styling service is exceptional. Their stylists craft killer combinations, and whether you’re looking for interesting new combinations or tried-and-true favorites, their monthly Dia Box delivers

Like Stitch Fix, Dia & Co. charges a modest $20 styling fee, which can be applied to anything in your Dia Box that you decide to keep. You can try on your new clothes in the comfort of your home, and if you decide to keep everything in the box (which may happen — their stylists are that good), you’ll get 25% off your order

Dia & Co. is designed for plus-sized women, so if you’re looking for clothes for men or kids, this isn’t a one-stop-shop. That’s the point; by curating apparel for a specific (and often overlooked audience), Dia & Co. fills an important niche.

Sizes Available: 14-32, 1X-5X.

Pros

  • This is a plus-only subscription, so everything is pictured on plus models.
  • Free shipping + returns.

Cons

  • $20 styling fee (if you don't keep anything).
  • Some items are pricey.

What Readers Say:

I really like Dia & Co as it has really cute clothes and fun stylists. - Tonya

3. Gwynnie Bee

Best Overall Subscription for Plus-Size Clothing Rentals

What’s In This Plus-Size Clothing Subscription Box

Gwynnie Bee is a clothing rental subscription for women sizes 0-32. We know what you’re thinking: Does “clothing rental" make sense?

In 2022, the answer is a definitive “yes.” There’s no better way to stay chic without filling your closet with clothes that you don’t wear regularly, and Gwynnie Bee’s model addresses some of the common issues with other rental-based plus-size clothing subscriptions.

To get started, you’ll browse Gwynnie Bee’s extensive online catalog, which includes versatile options from a variety of well-known brands. You’ll add your favorite looks to your digital closet. Gwynnie Bee will send you up to 10 of those items (depending on your plan) to wear as long as you’d like. Wear something once or add it to your rotation — whenever you’re ready for something new, use Gwynnie Bee’s free return label to send your order back and receive a new set of clothes. If you get particularly attached to an item, you can purchase it. Returned clothes are thoroughly dry cleaned, inspected, and returned to inventory.

Gwynnie Bee goes to great lengths to make sure you receive clothes that look brand new (that means vibrant colors, no rips or tears, and that just-from-the-store feel). You’ll be cutting down on waste by renting, and you’ll never run out of style inspiration. Plus, you’ll save money! That’s a win-win-win (we counted, that’s three wins).

4. Trunk Club

Best Clothing Subscription for Plus-Size Workwear

Image via Trunk Club.

What’s In This Plus-Size Clothing Subscription Box

Trunk Club has a slightly more expensive styling fee than some of the other plus-size subscription boxes we’ve covered. However, that fee still counts towards your purchase, and there are a few great reasons to give the service some attention.

First, Trunk Club is from Nordstrom, which means it’s a great source for higher-end looks. They have an extensive style quiz, and subscribers can interact directly with their stylist to give more details about their preferences. In addition to high-quality clothing — curated to keep you looking your best at work, home, or on special occasions — Trunk Club includes shoes, which immediately sets it apart from most other styling services. Trunk Club also offers a few cool perks that will appeal to some subscribers. For instance, if you use a Nordstrom credit or debit card, they’ll waive the styling fee. All members can preview their box before they ship, and the service doesn’t have any shipping or return fees.

Their site also has helpful tips for dressing more effectively regardless of your body type. If you love wearing stylish clothes but you’re not sure where to start, Nordstrom Trunk Club gives you the resources you need to start your journey.

Sizes Available: Up to 28W, 4X.

Pros

  • Higher-end clothing options.
  • Styling fee waived if you use a Nordstrom credit card.

Cons

  • Expensive styling fee (only applies if you don't keep anything).
  • Not everything comes in plus sizes.

Best Clothing Subscription for Plus Items That Are Totally "Now"

Image via nuuly.

What’s In This Plus-Size Clothing Subscription Box

nuuly is a fashion rental subscription from URBN, the company behind brands like Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, and Free People. They carry a range of sizes — including plenty of plus-size clothing — and their subscription service provides hassle-free access to URBN’s entire family of brands along with 100s of other top brands including Agolde, Levi’s, and more.

As with the other rental-based plus-size clothing subscription boxes we’ve covered, you’ll choose what you want in each shipment, and you’ll always have the option to purchase your clothing outright (at a discounted rate).

We love that nuuly sends each delivery in reusable packaging, and their selection is awesome; if you’re attached to a certain iconic brand, chances are great that you’ll find it on their shelves. Laundry and repairs are included in the cost, so you won’t have to worry about the occasional coffee stain or frayed hem.

While nuuly is somewhat expensive for a rental service, it’s still cheaper than buying clothes outright. Plus, who can put a price on an ever-refreshing wardrobe?

Sizes Available: Up to size 30 in a variety of brands, and up to size 40 in Universal Standard clothing.

Pros

  • Wider size range than other rental subscriptions.
  • You can rent additional items for $10 each.

Cons

What’s In This Plus-Size Clothing Subscription Box

Stylogic takes your style and sizing preferences and curates a set of clothing and accessories. Of course, you can wear those items separately, but all of the products coordinate, and that’s a big part of the appeal. For a fairly low price, you’ll get a ready-to-wear outfit that’s suited to your tastes.

Stylogic’s terms are on par with the other “personal stylist" options we’ve covered. You’ll pay $20 for a styling fee, but that counts towards the cost of any items you purchase. Buy the entire set, and you’ll get a 20% discount

Best of all, you’re not tied to a subscription (unless you’re actually looking for a stylish plus-size clothing subscription, in which case, they’ve got that option, too). Purchase sets as one-off purchases without worrying about recurring charges.

Because Stylogic has a mix of well-known brands and independent boutiques, their boxes have plenty of range. Just be sure to decide whether to keep your items within a week — the delivery date counts as day one.

  • $20 styling fee (goes toward anything you buy).

Best Plus-Size Clothing Subscription for Everyday Clothes

Image via Wantable.

What’s In This Plus-Size Clothing Subscription Box

Before Wantable‘s monthly boxes begin arriving on your doorstep, you’ll complete a brief quiz about your sizing and style preferences. Professional stylists will then curate boxes of 5-7 items from a variety of notable and lesser-known brands to match your needs.

If that sounds familiar, it should — Wantable follows the same stylist-on-demand model as many of the other companies we’ve covered — but they’re more focused on ultra-hip, Instagram-ready duds with that “where’d you get it?” factor.

Keep 5 or more items, and you’ll get a 20 percent discount (that 5-item threshold also applies if you opt for a more expensive box with more items, so if you tend to purchase everything in the box, consider upgrading). Send back anything you don’t want with the free return label

Compared with other plus-size clothing subscription boxes, you’ll receive more seasonal designs, and Wantable also offers one-of-a-kind themed boxes for getting certain looks.

How to Get The Most Out of Your Plus-Size Clothes Subscription Once You’ve Picked

Once you’ve landed on the right box for you, follow these steps to help make sure you make the most of your new subscription.

  • Don't be shy about your preferences. Most clothing subscriptions—both those offering rentals and those sending clothes to keep—start you off with a quiz. We strongly encourage you to answer honestly. Choose the sizes that fit you now. Select your go-to, tried-and-true favorite colors and patterns. While your stylist (or the system's algorithm) gets to know what you like and you get to know the scope of what they offer, it's best to start with reliable colors and silhouettes you're likely to connect with.
  • Stick with it for at least a few months. As mentioned above, it takes time for you and your stylist to get to know each other. You may also learn things about yourself and your style preferences in the early months if you receive items you thought you'd like but it turns out you don't—or vice versa. This is why it's important to give a clothing subscription a solid few months to find its footing.
  • Take tips from our community. MSA readers are super knowledgeable when it comes to clothing subscription services! Read our reviews, spoilers, and comments to pick up hot tips from regular subscribers, and of course, keep an eye out for a discount code so you can save a few bucks on your styled box.

Factors We Considered When Reviewing These Plus Clothing Subscriptions

Clothing subscription boxes are here to help you expand your fashion sense and forgo trips to the mall that may not be fruitful — but the quality of clothes subscriptions varies by brand. We considered our reader-commented favorites, but we also did our own research on each company before adding it to our list.

Some of the factors we considered when creating our rankings for this list:

  • Variety - Some of us want name-brand clothing, while others don’t care much about the name on the tag. We chose recommendations that feature a variety of brands and styles. For personal stylist services, we looked for companies that truly provide a range of fashion options for their users.
  • Customer Service - This is always an especially important factor when evaluating stylist services. If a company doesn’t have a great track record of high-quality customer care, it didn’t make it onto our list. We looked for clothing subscription boxes that offer easy returns and hassle-free order management.
  • Overall Value - The value of clothing is subjective, of course, but we focused on style subscription services that offer excellent pricing relative to retail value. Some of these companies have detailed information pages that indicate the total approximate value of each box, which we considered as we pieced our list together
  • Sizing Options - For this list of the best plus-size subscription boxes, we made sure each brand featured includes sizes 12-32 unless otherwise noted. We also have a general list of clothing subscription box favorites that include brands offering straight sizes, some which also extend into plus sizing options.

You'll find me collecting stationery and squirreling away stickers, riding bikes and swimming with my family, creating outfits in earth tones and flowy silhouettes that make me feel amazing, wearing big earrings, drinking beer and asking my husband to feed me harmonies to sing, taking my vitamins, living for live music, roping everyone into a craft, being human and vulnerable, and celebrating the phenomenon of being alive.

I just got my first Nordstrom trunk & they have amazing pieces & work well with you before shipping out your items but LAWD are they expensive…I had no idea! I’ll keep one item to not lose my 25 dollar fee but I have seen people get boxes with a lot cheaper items so maybe it’s a case of just talking to them, I chose the cheapest spending choice they had & my cheapest items is 49.00 on up to 89.00…I absolutely will not pay 90 dollars for some flats or 68.00 for a plain black tee, although they are really nice material & quality wise but I just can’t especially since I’m in the process of loosing weight…but if you have the money I definitely recommend them.

I totally agree. I’m in the process of losing weight also. I used StitchFix and their stylists just can’t get me a good box so I decided to try Nadine West. I found out on Facebook Nadine West has nice clothes at much more afforable prices. And their boxes are $9.78 for the styling fee.

Can you please explain the term “one off”.

Hi Debi! This is WAY delayed, but “one off” in this case is meant to indicate that you can make a one-time purchase rather than committing to a recurring subscription. Hope that helps!

Which box would you recommend for business casual office wear? I’m starting a new job and not sure what to wear.

Stitch Fix has worked well for me for that. I am interested in trying Dia and Co. at some point. Just trying to get rid of my quarantine 15 that put me back up a size, yet I keep buying some of the smaller items because “I’ll get rid of it soon.” O_O

I’d recommend Stitch Fix. They tend to send (me) much more classic business casual styles. It depends on what you set your profile up for, of course, but you can also leave a note for the stylist that you are specifically looking for that.

Dia, I have found, sends more trendy clothing that didn’t work for me. Your experience may be different, of course.

Maybe Dia & Co? I’ve never used their service personally but I always have enjoyed Nicole’s reviews of their service and it seems like she really enjoys it! Nicole’s reviews are here: https://www.mysubscriptionaddiction.com/author/nrieder

That blue and black trim/fringe dress under Gwynnie Bee is GORGEOUS!!! I’m never very good at clothes, but the clothing subs seem like a good idea, but then having to return a lot of items, or if I want to keep this or that seems to get confusing when I start reading about each of them. I had a friend try Gwynnie Bee almost 2 years ago and the clothes they sent her were horrid. Mostly the cuts and how they hung on her….us big girls are harder to dress because our bodies are so different, yet a lit of the cuts of the clothes are funky…so I dont know…I’m so on the fence about trying it.
