The 13 Best Baby Subscription Boxes for New Parents in 2021

Baby Subscription Boxes

Baby subscription boxes solve several important problems for new parents. First, they save time (and few parents have time to waste). By regularly delivering clothes, teething rings, diapers, and other essentials, subscription services can cut out those last-minute trips to the store while keeping a steady supply of high-quality necessities on hand.

The subscription model can also provide a welcome sense of regularity to parents. Each box provides entertainment, essential supplies, or opportunities for quality bonding time. The deliveries arrive automatically, so families have something to look forward to.

In other words, parents love subscription boxes for the same reasons that everyone else loves them — but by tailoring products specifically to growing families, these services fill an important role in early parenthood. That’s exactly why baby subscription boxes make perfect gifts.

Of course, not every box works for every family, but we’ve listed a few of the best options currently available. We’ve also included promo codes and discount links to help you find the best possible deal.

Here are our favorite baby subscription boxes recommended for new parents:

1. Panda Crate - Best Baby Subscription Box for Bonding Toys

Panda Crate is a subscription box for babies 0-24 months.

Image via KiwiCo.

The Cost: 1 crate every 2 months costs $19.95/month (with free shipping) which adds up to $39.90/crate. Save with longer subscriptions. Subscribe here!

ACTIVE DEAL: Save 50% off your first month! No coupon needed - just use this link.

Ages: 0-24 months

Why we love it: We’re huge fans of the KiwiCo subscription boxes, and we’re not alone. KiwiCo delivers educational toys and games to help children develop, with different boxes optimized for different age groups.

Panda Crate is designed for kids from 0-24 months. Parents receive activity cards, at-home activity suggestions, and KiwiCo’s Wonder Magazine, a research-based publication focused on early parenthood. The products in Panda Crate are optimized for your child’s developmental stage; you might receive bonding games for a newborn, sense development toys for a 3-month-old, or counting toys for a 13-month-old.

Delivered on a bi-monthly schedule, Panda Crate is an excellent stepping stone to other KiwiCo offerings, and their scientifically supported product curation makes those first frantic months of parenthood slightly easier (and more rewarding).

Gift it: KiwiCo offers gift subscriptions and the option to buy a gift card (to be used for any crate they carry) on their website.

Take a look at our Panda Crate reviews for more info on subscribing. Ships to the US for free, Canada for $3.95 per month, and worldwide from $4.95-$6.95.

2. Honest Diapers & Wipes Bundle - Best Baby Subscription Box for Diapers

Honest Diapers Best Baby Boxes

Image from our review.

The Cost: $79.95 per bundle. Subscribe here!

ACTIVE DEAL: Save 40% off your first Diapers + Wipes.

Ages: 0-3 years

Why we love it: Even if you’re the most responsible parent on the planet, you’ll eventually need to make a late-night diaper run — unless you’re using Honest Company’s Diaper & Wipes Bundle

Diaper subscription services aren’t always ideal, particularly when the company offers low-quality products. We appreciate Honest’s dedication to quality control; all of their diapers are absorbent, latex-free, hypoallergenic, and made without chlorine processing. From the moisture-wicking bubble liner to the belly button cutout, every aspect of the diaper is designed to keep baby's skin dry and clean.

Each diaper box includes 7 packs of fragrance-free diapers (in your choice of patterns), along with 4 packs of plant-based wipes. The wipes aren’t a casual add-in — they’re remarkably soft, with a fresh scent that simplifies diaper duty.

Honest also includes a free gift with every third purchase, so you’ll have a surprise to look forward to. Diapers are available in a variety of sizes, and the company reminds subscribers to update their preferences before each box ships.

Subscribers also receive a discount on diaper rash creams, bubble baths, and other Honest family products. Overall, the Honest Diaper & Wipes Bundle is one of the most practical subscription services on this list — and their commitment to the environment gives eco-conscious parents peace of mind.

Gift it: This subscription makes a great, super-practical gift for parents and parents-to-be — trust us, they’ll be extremely grateful. But if you’re looking for a one-time gift, Honest also sells diaper cakes, gift sets of their healthy bath and skincare products for babies, diaper bags, clean beauty options for pampering mama (she definitely deserves it), and more. Of course, you can always buy a gift card! Gifting options found here.

Take a look at our Honest Diapers & Wipes Bundle reviews for more info. Ships to the US, Canada, and APO/FPO addresses.

3. Hoppi Box - Best Baby Subscription Box for Developmental Toys

Hoppi Baby Box

Image from our review.

The Cost: $75 per quarterly box. Subscribe here!

ACTIVE DEAL: Save $5 off your first box!

Ages: 0-4 years

Why we love it: Delivered every three months, Hoppi Box includes 3-5 full-size toys picked by child development experts. Each baby subscription box is personalized to meet (and nurture) developmental milestones.

Hoppi Box describes their selections as Montessori inspired, and typically, boxes tend to contain at least one book, along with a selection of educational toys and games. The quality of the toys is consistently high, with products made from durable, eco-friendly materials. The company also uses sustainable packing materials.

One caveat: While Hoppi Box curates subscriptions based on the child’s age, they’re unable to provide other types of customization. In other words, you can’t add or remove toys as needed — but if you’re simply looking for a way to regularly surprise your child with exceptional toys and games, Hoppi Box is a superb option.

Gift it: While there’s no specific gifting option through their Cratejoy page, Hoppi Box would make a beautiful start to a baby’s educational toy collection. One reviewer noted that she purchased the subscription for her nephew and arranges regular video chat calls to watch him open each box.

Take a look at our Hoppi Box reviews for more info. Ships free to the US.

4. Little Fun Club - Best Baby Subscription Box for Nurturing Young Readers

Little Fun Club March 2018 review

Image from our review.

The Cost: Starts at $20.95 per month. Subscribe here!

ACTIVE DEAL: 20% off the first month

Ages: 0-12 years

Why we love it: Raising a reader means keeping a steady supply of age-appropriate books on hand, and if you don’t have the time to spend hours at your local bookstore, Little Fun Club has you covered.

This affordable book club has options for newborns, pre-teens, and everyone in between. Subscribers fill out a basic form with info about their child’s age, then receive a mix of classic kids' books and new releases from award-winning authors. Each box includes 2-3 handpicked books per month, depending on the subscription option. For new parents, it’s a great way to plan quality snuggling time, and the curation is excellent.

We love how Little Fun Club is designed to grow with children, providing an ever-expanding set of age-appropriate adventures. The cost of this baby subscription box decreases for long-term orders, so keep that in mind — pre-paying for an annual subscription will significantly reduce the cost of each box.

Gift it: The subscription also offers a gifting option (as a one-time purchase) and “adventure boxes,” which pair a book with an activity. Either works well for introducing Little Fun Club to new parents.

Take a look at our Little Fun Club reviews for more info. Ships free to the US.

We know what you’re thinking, and no, Bump Box isn’t just prenatal vitamins in a fancy package. The company recognizes all the excitement, stress, and joy of pregnancy, and their boxes include an incredible variety of goodies. That might mean special beauty products, lotions, wipes, or even ready-to-drink cocktails (non-alcoholic, of course). 7. Why and Whale - Best Baby Subscription Box for Staying Stylish

Why and Whale June 2018 review

Why we love it: The Why and Whale box contains toys, books, and other items “for the little trendsetters in your life.”

If that bit of advertising copy doesn’t make it clear, Why and Whale focuses on modern, stylish products, sourced from ethical brands based in the United States. Many companies featured in the Why and Whale box are run by mothers, and the selection is carefully curated to blend chic style with real-world usability.

You can expect 3 to 6 high-quality, age-appropriate items in each package. Subscribers can skip a box or cancel at any time.

8. Lillypost - Best Baby Subscription Box for Books

Three children's books from Lillypost.

Image from our review.

The Cost: $19.95 a month + $4.95 shipping. Save with longer subscriptions. Subscribe here!

ACTIVE DEAL: Save 30% off your first box!

Ages: 0-8 years

Why we love it: According to Lillypost’s website, the service was founded on the idea that reading is fundamental to childhood development. We’re certainly not arguing — a good relationship with books can be life-changing, and Lillypost’s book subscription box gets kids started on the right foot.

Each Lillypost subscription box includes up to 4 board books or 3 picture books (or a mix of both). Given the price of the subscription, the books in each delivery are up to 70 percent less expensive than their retail value, and Lillypost’s editors read and review each book before adding it to the service. There’s no better way to start building baby’s first library.

For every box delivered, Lillypost donates a book to a child in need. They’ve donated over 180,000 books to date; we love subscription services that give back, and Lillypost’s generosity is an excellent reason to check them out.

Gift it: Looking to gift Lillypost? Gift subscription options can be found here!

Take a look at our Lillypost reviews for more info. Ships to the US and Canada for $4.95.

The Cost: $30 per month. Subscribe here!

ACTIVE DEAL: Save 50% off your first month with code MYSUBSCRIPTIONADDICTION50 or 20% off any gift subscription with code PINATA20

Ages: 0-5 years

Why we love it: Reduce boredom — without adding to the clutter

The Green Piñata baby subscription box switches out old toys for brand-new products (and if a child grows attached to a particular item, parents can purchase it outright). It’s a revolutionary rental service that delivers toxin-free, educational toys right to your door.

You can choose from their catalog or let Green Piñata curate the box. Each shipment contains up to 4 high-quality toys, and used toys can be returned with the included (free) shipping label. That’s free shipping both ways.

The service is affordable, and Green Piñata has detailed information about their sanitization process online. It’s a great way to have fun while reducing waste, and many reviewers note that they’ve never received toys with obvious signs of use.

Overall, Green Piñata toys are fun and educational — while we’d never considered a “used toy" service before, this subscription service has successfully found a novel approach to playtime.

Gift it: Parents of babies and kiddos will love you for gifting their child toys that they can send back and replace for something else. Gift a 3 month subscription, a 6 month subscription, or a gift card of any amount right here!

Take a look at our Green Piñata reviews for more info. Ships to the continental US, free both ways.

10. The Preschool Box - Best Baby Subscription Box for Toddlers

The Cost: Starts at $32.95 per month for 1 kid, $49.95 per month for 2 kids, and $66.95 per month for 3 kids. Save with longer subscriptions. Subscribe here!

Ages: 3-6 years

Why we love it: Cultivate an early love for learning with The Preschool Box. Each shipment arrives with fun, age-appropriate activities that engage skills like letter and sound recognition, counting and number recognition, identifying sounds in words, and (eventually) writing practice. Each box also comes with a Parent Guide to help you lead your child on a learning adventure.

From stickers and books to crafts and games, the Preschool Box is curated to encourage learning, reading, and creativity. Plus, a portion of proceeds help buy school supplies and other needs for children at the Rafiki Orphanage in Uganda, Africa.

While the Preschool Box isn’t a baby subscription box, per se, it’s an excellent pickup for parents with younger kids. It’s an especially solid choice for nurturing an older brother or sister when a new baby arrives — and the activities are a great way to schedule quality time with a preschooler.

Gift it: Thinking of gifting this great box? While there's no specific gifting landing page, you can purchase a single month (or more!) to send to the young family in your life.

Check out our Preschool Box reviews for more info. Ships worldwide.

The Cost: $69 per month. Save with longer subscriptions. Subscribe here!

Ages: Sizes 0-18 months available.

Why we love it: This monthly baby box sends unique, stylish clothes for playtime, naptime, and every other time of day (although if we’re being honest, it’s mostly playtime and naptime, isn’t it?).

Surprisly is a family-run business, and they’ve met their goal of providing safe, cute, and functional baby clothing at a fair price. They also prioritize customer care; subscribers can easily make exchanges, and subscriptions can be cancelled at any time.

12. Moms + Babes Box - Best Baby Subscription Box for Treating Moms

Moms + Babes box all contents.

Image from our review.

The Cost: $59 per quarter. Past boxes are available for one-time purchase at a discounted cost. Subscribe here!

Ages: 0-3

Why we love it: This quarterly subscription box is a paired pampering for both the momma and the baby of the house. Each box is filled with 10 or more full-size products for treating Mom (or Dad, if he’s ready for some self care).

Boxes also include a couple of goodies for the little one. Previous boxes have included pacifier clips, small toys, all-natural sunscreen, and books, but the selection is always changing.

While the products are luxurious, Moms + Babes Box maintains a low price-per-box. The company describes their baby subscription box as “the ultimate mommy fist-bump,” which perfectly describes the appeal — de-stressing is much easier with the right accessories, and Moms + Babes understands exactly what mothers need to kick back and relax.

Gift it: If you don’t want to gift a full quarterly or annual subscription, you can place a one-time purchase of past boxes (sold at a discounted price) or send a gift card.

Check out our Moms + Babes Box reviews for more info. Ships to the US (free shipping) & International (for a $20 flat rate).

Ages: 0-3

Why we love it: If you’re looking to stock up on Montessori-style toys that foster educational play, Lovevery is worth a look. These sustainably sourced wooden toys are designed by a team of experts, and they’re both adorable and sturdy — kids will love the tactile feel of the wood, and adults will appreciate the eco-friendly approach.

We’re in love with the look of high-quality wood; there’s something appealing about the classic aesthetic. In fact, if our floor was cluttered with these toys, we’d probably call it “artistic decoration.” The baby subscription boxes are thoughtfully assembled, and they’re photo-ready on arrival — each toy is separated into its own compartment to make every delivery that much more exciting.

The wooden toys are made from FSC-compliant sustainable sources, along with organic cotton fabrics, and all products meet or exceed global safety standards for babies and children. They’re engaging and interesting for younger kids, building color recognition, visual exploration, and fine motor skills.

Gift it: Lovevery offers a gift grouping option, so you can order with friends and family to surprise a loved one. You can also gift on your own or add Lovevery to a registry —  head here to get started.
