Japan Crate’s cheapest plan is $35+ a month – not the $25 you say.

I currently am subscribed to Woohoo Snacks and I would highly recommend them. They offer great value for the amount of snacks that come in the box and my kids get so excited to unbox it each month. They also offer delivery every 15 days alongside a monthly plan, one of my favs!

I have had a Universal Yums subscription for several years and I recommend it to anyone with kids. It is a fun family activity and we learn about new countries as we try their snacks. My girls love it (age 10 and 14).

I ordered Love with Food for my parents this past Christmas. So far no issues with delivery and they enjoy trying healthier snacks. Gives them something to look forward to while on COVID lockdown.

I would recommend both of these subscriptions.

Universal Yums is a great box! I started a subscription for my family last fall and we have had 5 boxes delivered without any issues at this point. As I read in one comparison between boxes, some months are heavier on the sweets than others. This box is neatly packaged and has a great presentation. My family opens and samples this box together; kids are 16, 15, and 12 and it is always a good time. We have the medium box and the print outs that come are pretty great – they describe the snacks, give interesting facts about the snacks and country, there’s a map that shows where they come from, some recipes, and a trivia section. The website is very easy to navigate and use; management of multiple subscriptions is a breeze. Due to restrictions with Covid-19 this year, I wanted to give a unique gift to some family and friends and something they could look forward to every month. I gave several subscriptions to the service for Christmas and everyone has given me positive feedback. Also, if there is a snack you end up really liking, you can go to the website and order just that snack.

Had a big issue with Love With Food not shipping out my subscription box. Contacted customer service and was basically told it’ll come when it comes and at this point it was the end of the month already. They offered to cancel my subscription, I had no problem doing that on my own. Never received that months box, they wouldn’t refund me for it. Finally had to have my bank reverse the charge to get my money back.

Kellie Hand

I ordered from snack crate and they told me my order wouldn’t ship until the 15th of the month but I actually received my snack crate on the 13th. So I got the box 2 days before it was supposed to ship. This was literally about 4 days after I placed my order. It was awesome! Snack Crate is the best.

Same issue. Been waiting for 5 days for a response from the company. I signed up because MSA recommended this company. MSA really needs to vet their companies more.

Mallory @ MSA

So sorry to hear this, Sherry! We only recommend brands that we feel are trustworthy and provide great value to subscribers. That being said, this list represents the top-voted subscription brands according to thousands of MSA readers’ experiences.

Unfortunately, some boxes have experienced delays in shipping and customer support response time amid the pandemic, which sounds like what may be happening here. If you don’t hear back from them soon, please feel free to email me ([email protected]) and we will reach out to the brand on your behalf.

Japan crate has been amazing, starting it up again. They had fun snacks and great customer service. Delivery was awesome and timely.

Universal yums had cheap snacks, some were really good tbh, but the cost just wasn’t worth what I was receiving and the best snacks you can’t even buy from their store.

I was attempting to try snack crate but I’ve canceled it before I’ve even received my items. If I ever even do. One was stuck in florida for days and the other has been in transit for over a week now. The stuff looks awesome but their customer service is so trash that I just don’t wanna bother with them. They delete negative experiences from the their Facebook page and they never respond to emails.

Might try munchpak next. I really want a monthly subscription that has snacks from around the world but so far have had terrible experiences with those kinds.

This is confusing! Why is the title stating that this is the 2021 Reader’s Choice list when I see a comment that I wrote 6 months ago about it? And other comments from 2 years ago on here?

Christen Russo

Hey, Shannon! We update our lists each year instead of creating new ones. We’re so sorry for the confusion this has caused!

I have had SnackCrate for 5 months and have enjoyed the experience thus far. It has been like opening a Christmas present and is very exciting. It creates a great family time when you read some facts about the country and discuss each flavour before and after trying.

MunchPak has never failed to give a delicious variety of snacks that soon become my favorite obsessions! Love them!!

I found snacknation about 2 months ago and sent a gift box to a family member and decided to try for myself. The gift box got to family member but they messed up on my order. I reached out to customer service and they resent a new box. The variety for a 50 snack box was about 4 of each kind of snack. A good variety of snacks though but kind of pricey ( $70) I had a coupon and ended up paying about $62. It was good to try to learn about new kinds of snacks! Interested in trying other companies.

Mary Davis

We are doing a step challenge and would like to provide 6-month snack sets to our participants who reach their goal.

Can you tell me exactly how this could work for us? Thank you!

Yuck to the Variety Fun box. I’d only buy it if I lived in a different country but once every 3 months. American’s snacks are just gross. 😝 Our diets are the worst. Terrible foods, bigger portions and expensive healthcare.

I get the Super Yum Box. I take nibbles of everything then let my husband devour the rest.

Glad to see Universal Yums at #1. It is my favorite. They really do have a fantastic box with unique treats, fun information and excellent customer service.

Mary reid

I have not received any of my products but they took money out of checking account

I haven’t received my products from Variety Fun either. My money was withdrawn on July 24 but my subscription is still marked “paid/unfulfilled”. I’ve made 3 attempts to contact this company but have not gotten a response. Buyer beware!!

I tried a couple of these and honestly I think that Variety Fun should be higher on the list. One of the only services that promised brand name snacks and actually delivered.

I’m so glad to see that Universal Yums is number one! I was so excited to receive my first box and told a friend of mine that lives in France what I got. I have a few other friends in different countries and they would like to know what I would get. I also signed up for SnackCrate and I’ve been highly impressed with them as well. Both companies are great. Especially during this COVID-19 pandemic.

I’ve been subscribed to Universal Yums for over a year and a half now and I went from the Yumbox subscription to Super Yumbox because I loved it so much. (After a while they sent me a larger box for free and I was hooked.) Nothing bad to say about them and great customer service! One time, a tube of candy was empty, I sent an email and they sent me 2 replacements and 2 extra snacks!

Yay for Universal Yums! I completely agree with it being #1 (and I don’t see Graze listed so maybe they removed it?). I’ve subbed for a while now and it has always shipped on time, the snacks are interesting and we love reading about the countries. This is the way to do sub boxes!!!

You should use links that actually work instead of usung this site for click bait. None of what is shown here works or is what is mentioned

Lacey Volk

Hi Ally, we just finished checking links and making updates to this list!

I had terrible customer service from snack nation, they overcharged and didnt respond for a week until I canceled, which they then responded to within a couple hours, (it appeared to be a real person and not automated) which meant theyd simply been ignoring my previous inquiries over the wrong price the whole time. I was really disappointed, I felt like they didnt care at all.

I been really thinking about join snack nation but they have so many complaints in the last 3 year especially about people getting charge for product they Been try canceled

Jenny M

Does anyone know if any of these subs offer a kosher option?

There are some Kosher crates, but your best bet might be a vegan snackbox. No need to worry about Kashrut when eating vegan snacks. 🙂

your pricing is off. i went to subscribe to ketokrate and it was $40 a month! forget it.

Pamela Sue lim

I tried degusta years ago and was amazed by then and was going to do them again but I’m disappointed the no longer have degusta for a United States services it’s been discontinued.

I was glad not to see Degusta Box on the list. They sent me a box with both multiple tins of sardines, one of the cheapest possible foods in the grocery that few people will buy or eat, AND also anchovies. In the same box. I considered it to be an insulting box.

Talk about “DEGUSTING.”
Also, lack of imagination in sourcing. I felt like they were trying to run people off, at least their US customers who, by and large, don’t eat either of the fish to any extent.

Just heard from Graze that they are discontinuing subscription service “in your area” – I live in a mid-Atlantic state. The website doesn’t indicate anything of the sort, so I don’t know what the deal is. We’ve been subscribers since the early days of Graze, so it’s quite annoying.

We got the same email from Graze for a Colorado service address. Guess we’ll be trying some of the other options after the last box ships next week.

Graze discontinued all subscription services in the U.S. I live 20 minutes from their NJ distribution center so … Apparently they want to start selling retail in stores only. They don’t care about their faithful customers that made them what they are…. it’s all about $$$.

Just got the same notice. I live in a mid-atlantic state, as well.

Graze was bought out by Unilever! I am SO disappointed in how they have treated their loyal Grazers! They told me they will no longer ship to Jersey, so when I gave them 10 zip codes of other states where I have family/friends, they replied that they also don’t ship to any of these areas as well. It’s all just an excuse and something more is going on. I did see an article from Unilever CEO that said they do not plan to change Graze and will keep things as is, so I am hoping they will be back again one day!

I received the same notice, I live in the mid-west.
