We're starting a new monthly post highlighting our favorite discoveries from subscription boxes! Here are our favorite items from the past month:
Lindsey's Favorites:
The Item: Ker Cadelac Palets Bretons
The Cost: $3.50
From: Universal Yums
Why I love it: It might sound a little weird (especially since I’m a baker), but I don’t really have much of a sweet tooth. I like cookies, cakes, and candy, but I never really have to fight a compulsive desire to keep eating them. (Salty snacks like chips and fries are my true weakness.) These cookies, on the other hand, were nearly impossible for me to put down. The buttery, rich flavor was incredible.
The Item: Coop's Salted Caramel Sauce
The Cost: $8.95
From: Boxwalla's Food Box
Why I love it: As a child, my favorite warm weather dessert was definitely the caramel sundae. It’s been a long time since I had one, and receiving this jar of caramel inspired me to recreate my beloved childhood treat. Oh. My. Goodness. Coop’s salty and sweet sauce transformed the dessert. A lot of jarred and bottled caramel sauces can taste artificial, but this one tastes just like homemade.
The Item: Daniel Boulud Highland Smoked Salmon
The Cost: $15.99
From: Robb Vices
Why I love it: I’ve never received smoked salmon in a subscription box before, so that alone deserves a shout out. Better still is that this is some of the best I’ve ever had. It’s from Daniel Bound’s signature line of smoked salmon, and it’s flavored with Scotch whisky and cardamom.
Celicia's Favorites:
The Item: Razor MD Dopp Kit
The Cost: $40.00
From: SprezzaBox (COUPON: Save 25% off your first box with code MSA25!)
Why I love it: John fell head over beard for this exclusive toiletry bag. He's constantly gone for work, so why not upgrade your travel game with style! He thinks it's the perfect.
The Item: Julep Nail Polish in Lucy
The Cost: $14.00
From: Julep Mystery Box - Kiss 'n' Tell (COUPON: Use this link to get a free box when you sign up for a 3-month subscription!)
Why I love it: I'm normally a die hard bubble gum pink kind of girl. But for whatever reason this dark shade sang to me! I love it! And I can pair it with nearly any accent glitter polish. Too bad for me when it runs out, this polish is still unavailable on Julep's website.
The Item: Nail Wraps in Love Is...
The Cost: $8.00
From: Monthly Mani Box by Scratch
Why I love it: Abigail and I paint nails every week. It's one of our favorite things to do as Mommy and Daughter. She so tiny, I don't get to share nail wraps with her that often but I was so happy that I was able to cut these down to her size. Totally adorable and we had matching nails for a whole two days. It didn't make it through a hands on activity at school. Pretty standard for Abi, mine lasted four days before the first chip!
Anna's Favorites:
The Item: Beauty Counter Nourishing Cleansing Balm
The Cost: $50
From: POPSUGAR Must Have (COUPON: Use coupon code MUSTHAVE5 to save $5 off your first box.)
Why I love it: I have really sensitive skin, so when I find a product that actually improves my skin without causing me to break out, I get excited. This is one of those products! I like the way it smells, and it leaves my skin feeling clean but not dry, and super soft.
The Item: Needle Felting
The Cost: Varies
From: New Hobby Box (COUPON: Save 10% off your first box with ADDICTION!)
Why I love it: I don't know what happened, but I am really into it. I'm making all kinds of little creatures now. This might be the most zen type of crafting ever.
The Item: Black Druzy Ring by Rivka Friedman
The Cost: $325
From: 5th Avenue Style
Why I love it: This ring is so beautiful, and so well crafted. I've received tons of compliments on it already!
Ragan's Favorites:
The Item: Lilikoi Living Bamboo Buff Face Wash
The Cost: $32
From: Boxwalla Beauty
Why I Love It: I like exfoliators a lot and this one uses bamboo particles which I found to be effective without being too harsh. Plus, receiving this item in a box introduced me to a new brand that I think I will really like. (I think this is actually from a December box but I reviewed it in February!)
The Item: A’Pieu Fresh Mate Sleeping Mask in Tea Tree Calming
The Cost: $12 (COUPON: Use code FIRST10 to save 10% off your first box!)
From: Miss Tutii (TutiiBag)
Why I Love It: My skin does really well with tea tree oil right now and I have been using this 3-4 times a week. I think it has been helping clear up my complexion and it seems quite moisturizing, also. I am almost out and thankful it is not too expensive so I don’t break the bank buying more.
The Item: Our Pets Spry Spritz Catnip Spray
The Cost: $6.98
From: Meowbox
Why I Love It: I can make pretty much anything interesting to the cats with this. I have gotten them licking old shoeboxes, for example. But I can also spray a bit to refresh an older toy, which suddenly makes the toy awesome again.
The Item: Beanitos Hint of Lime
The Cost: $0.84
From: Vegan Cuts Snack Box
Why I Love It: I know Beanitos are overdone in subscription boxes, especially the vegan food boxes. However, I have always loved Tostitos Hint of Lime chips and will eat half the bag (plain) in one sitting if given the opportunity. I think I like the texture of these even better than the Tostitos, and they still have that great hint of lime taste (plus the protein and fiber from the white beans that are used to make the chips).
Haley's Favorites:
The Item: Nunu Chocolates Ganache Assortment
The Cost: $8 (COUPON: Use coupon code MSA20 for 20% off you first month!)
From: Tea Box Express
Why I love it: These ganache truffles were amazing. I’m still dreaming about them. I got a raspberry, double dark, earl grey, and espresso. Plus they were adorable shapes – there was a little bundt cake, and a flower.
The Item: Corso’s Cookies Heart Shortbread Cookie
The Cost: $7.99
From: Tea Box Express (COUPON: Use coupon code MSA20 for 20% off you first month!)
Why I love it: This cookie was delicious. Yes, this makes 2 treats from Tea Box Express on my February favorites list – I wish I could go back and re-eat the truffles and this cookie. It didn’t even make it completely through the photo taking (as soon as it was snapped I devoured it, haha). It had amazing texture and the frosting was so sweet and flavorful. It reminded me of those fluffy Lofthouse sugar cookies you can buy at the store. I will dream of a thousand of these cookies tonight. This cookie got a lot of criticism for being $8, and maybe they’re right (might as well go buy the fluffy Lofthouse cookies from the grocery store for half that) but let me just tell you it’s possibly the best cookie I’ve ever eaten!
The Item: Young at Heart Blouse
The Cost: $50?
From: Golden Tote
Why I love it: This came in my $149 Valentine’s Day tote, which is definitely one of my all-time best totes ever. I love this blouse because it’s easy to wear, flattering, and I love the color. I can see this blouse being styled lots of ways, too!
The Item: Greenmarket Purveying Co Crush Bergamot and Raspberry Candle
The Cost: $9
From: Vellabox (COUPON: Save 25% off your first box with code ADDICT25 OR Save $5 off gift subscriptions with code GIFTINGADDICT!)
Why I love it: This candle is limited edition, and I loooove it. It’s a combination of two of my favorite fragrances! Plus, it also has some geranium and light musk to fill out the scent. Plus, it’s soy and the fragrance smells wonderful when you burn it.
Bekki's Favorites:
The Item: Korean Gel-hilighter Pink and Korean Gel-hilighter Yellow
The Cost: $1.63 each
From: Paper + Pen
Why I love it: I never thought I would be impressed by a highlighter, but here I am - amazed at these! These are twistable gel highlighters that are extremely smooth and pigmented. They do not smear, and they look like Jello or a gummy bear is stuck to the top of them! How fun is that?
Even more than the fun aspect, they are awesome highlighters. When these two are finished, I will be purchasing them in bulk! They don't dry out, they twist up, and they seem like they'll last forever.
The Item: Whole Spice Rose Sugar
The Cost: $7.00
From: The Taste Club by Eat Feed Love (COUPON: Use coupon code mysubscriptionaddiction to save 50% off your first month!)
Why I love it: I really love flower-flavored foods, which sounds weird, but I like culinary lavender, rose flavored syrups, and violet flavored candies! I have my own lavender sugar that I use every now and again, so to have rose sugar, just is icing on the cake. This sugar has little bits of rose floating about in it, and it smells divine. I love this, and it's the perfect accoutrement to my morning tea!
The Item:Pink Abstract Round Wide Tooth Comb
The Cost: $14.50
From: Eternally in Amber
Why I love it: I have to be upfront with you all - the reason I love this comb so much is because it looks gorgeous sitting on my bathroom counter. It really is the prettiest hair styling tool I've ever had, but it also is very sturdy, and helpful! It's nice to use when my hair is wet and I don't want to damage it by using my brush. It is pretty easy to grip, glides through my hair smoothly, and again, just looks pretty!
Nancy S' Favorites:
The Item: Dermadeli Lavish Lips Collagen Serum
The Cost: $28.99 (on sale for $14)
From: LuxePineapple GlossaryBox
Why I love it: Even though I don't have aging concerns like fine lines or thinning lips, I still found this lip serum amazing. My lips feel smoother and even a little plumper. Matte lipsticks and water-based tints apply better now because they have a smoother canvas to work on. Also, it's really easy to use, has no color or taste or smell, and one tube lasts a long time. I have used it twice a day for about a month and there's still 85% left.
The Item: Bubba’s Carolina Beef Jerky in Mountain Mesquite
The Cost: $6.99
From: SumoCrate (COUPON: Save 10% off all purchases with code MYSUBADDICTION10!)
Why I love it: I fell back in love with beef jerky after tasting this from SumoCrate. By tasting, I mean devouring in one sitting. It's tender and juicy and everything you want in a jerky. The barbecue flavor makes me wish summer would come sooner.
The Item: Kendra Scott Devalyn Necklace in Gold
The Cost: $90
From: Rocksbox (COUPON: Get your first month free with code mysubaddictxoxo)
Why I love it: Everything about this necklace is perfect -- the quality, the design, the length, the way it drapes down my neck -- and I would have bought it too if I didn't already have similar looking jewelry. The memories we shared together will keep me satisfied... for now...
Eric's Favorites:
The Item: Exclusive Power Glove Oven Glove
The Cost: Value $10?
From: Nerd Block
Why I love it: While I ended up gifting this item to a friend that LOVES all things Nintendo, I thought this was a great, original, item!
The Item: Deadpool Q-Fig Figure
The Cost: Value $20?
From: Loot Crate (COUPON: Save 10% off any length subscription, or $3 off month-to-month with coupon code ADDICTION or SAVE3)
Why I love it: I love getting POPs and figurines in geek boxes. Even better? Exclusive figurines! In a month full of Deadpool goodies, this one was head and shoulders above all other items!
The Item: The Walking Dead Big Head Figure
The Cost: Value $5-10?
From: Loot Crate (COUPON: Save 10% off any length subscription, or $3 off month-to-month with coupon code ADDICTION or SAVE3)
Why I love it: I didn't know much about the mini Walking Dead figures this month, only the fact that it was a McFarlane item. That was enough to get me excited! My first impression was that they were really tiny! But, as I put it together I noticed all the little details and how awesome these things were. The detail on them is really a McFarlane trademark, so I shouldn't have been surprised!
The Item: Shiny Winter Hat
The Cost: Value $15-20?
From: Geek Fuel (EXCLUSIVE DEAL: While supplies last, use this link to get $3 off any subscription PLUS get a Star Wars Bonus Item with a 3-Month subscription! (This $3 off + Free Bonus on the 3-month deal is only available for MSA readers))
Why I love it: This was a favorite because it was timed perfectly for me. I was nearly finished with the Firefly series and I loved getting this hat in the mail right around the same day as the episode where he gets it from his mother!
The Item: Stovington Eagles Shirt
The Cost: Value $20?
From: ZBox
Why I love it: I love all things Stephen King - so this shirt was an immediate hit as soon as I had pulled it from the box.
The Item: Deadpool Dog Shirt
The Cost: Value $5-10?
From: Loot Pets (COUPON: Use coupon code SAVE3 to save $3 off your first box!)
Why I love it: Apparently, red is a good color for Buckles. He loves his Loot Pets shirts!
The Item: Exclusive Deadpool POP
The Cost: Value $30-40?
From: Marvel Collector Corps
Why I love it: I loved everything in this box, but I really love the exclusive POP. It's not often you see a POP in action like this jumping Deadpool POP!
The Item: Andi's Famous Plush Dumplings
The Cost: Value $16
From: BarkBox (COUPON: Get a free extra month when you sign up for any length subscription (BONUSFREEBOX) or $10 Barkshop credit (ADDICTION) any new BarkBox Subscription. Barkshop credit code emailed 3-5 business days after purchase with coupon code BONUSFREEBOX or ADDICTION)
Why I love it: Liz and I thought these were the cutest little toys for Buckles. He typically dismisses toys after a day or two - so we know he loves these since they're still a favorite!
Liz's Favorites:
The Item: Lancôme Visionnaire Nuit Beauty Sleep Perfector
The Cost: $88
From: Allure Beauty Box (COUPON: Save $5 off your first month, no coupon required, just use this link)
Why I love it: This is one of my all-time favorite skin care discoveries! This sample was so tiny (about 3 uses) that I didn't expect to see any results, but I could see a difference in my skin after the first night. So after trying to squeeze out all remaining product out of this tube, I broke down and bought the full-size version.
The Item: Beauty Counter Body Oil in Rose Neroli
The Cost: Value $73
From: Beauty Heroes
Why I love it: This oil smells so good (slightly beachy)! It's made with only natural and organic ingredients, and fortunately, a little goes a long way since it is so pricey! I've been using this post-shower every night, and the bottle is still mostly full!
