My Fashion Crate Mystery Box January 2019 Review

Note: If you have been a regular subscriber for the past few months, some of the items you receive may be repeats!

Lodis Slim Leather Card Case in Pink – Retail Value $35

This item is a repeat from the November 2018 box and while I already own this, I use it quite frequently, so I am happy to have one to gift to someone else! The bright pink color is very stylish and it has plenty of pockets to keep your cards and cash. I actually use this to stash in my diaper bag so that I don’t have to bring a separate purse, and I frequently move it to a smaller clutch or crossbody since it is smaller than a wallet. It’s the perfect size for the essentials and it even has RFID protection.

Go-Comb in Crazy Eyes – Retail Value $4.99

This is another repeat item that comes from the October 2018 box. I have to admit, I have this in my wallet, but I have never used it! It fits in there so discreetly that I just don’t think to use it, but it is super cute and can be incredibly useful if you do remember to use it! This comb is durable and made from recycled plastic and the teeth are nice and wide so that it glides somewhat smoothly through your hair.

Here is the Go-Comb inside the card case. It’s a perfect fit!

Maria Shireen Rose Gold Hair Tie Bracelet Set – Retail Value $15.00

This hair tie bracelet is from the May 2018 box and while I love the idea of this, it isn’t one of the best items that I’ve received due to the size and how it fits (or doesn’t fit) on my wrist. I do love that it comes so nicely packaged with a 50% off coupon and several different hair tie options. It is such a great fashion accessory and I passed the last one on to a family member. This time I think I will save it for my daughter for when she is a little bit older since it is plastic and the smaller size will fit her better than me!

Here you can see it is a little tight on my wrist and not too comfortable for me to wear.

Skone Cosmetics Brow Wand in Chocolate – Retail Value $18

This is actually from the recent January 2019 box and was something I was pleasantly surprised by! This wand has just a light tint but it is really buildable if you want a more dramatic look. I am not someone who uses brow wands regularly, but this one is so easy to use with its triangular tip and built-in brush on the other side. I am happy to have a second one for when I run out!

Here is a closer look at that triangular tip which helps with control and a swatch of the color.

Deux Lux Bond Wallet in Beige – Retail Value $65

This item is from the August 2018 box, but the first one I received was in Navy blue and while I love blue, I think that I might like this color even better! It just looks so nice with the gold hardware and accents against the light colored vegan non-leather. I love that it comes in its own little dustbag and the pattern is so fun with the lines going in different directions.

This wallet has so many pockets – it’s pretty amazing! There is a space to organize everything and my iPhone 7 plus with a case on it fits inside, although the fit is a bit snug. The wallet does have a little bit of stretch to it though, so I still feel comfortable storing my phone inside in a pinch.

Skone Large Eyeshadow Brush – Retail Value $15

This is the first item that is new to me and it is not from any previous boxes that I know of. I love the matte black brush with the shiny rose gold. It has dense bristles and is perfect for adding darker eyeshadow to the outer corners of my eyes.

Chateau Spill Red Wine Stain Remover Wipe – Buy 10 for $10.99

This item is new to me and I love my wine, so I’m sure that there will be one day when I appreciate having this stashed in my purse! This would also be a cute little gift to give a wine lover along with a nice bottle of red. These wipes are free from peroxide, chlorine, and phosphates, and they are even biodegradable.

Sweet Claire #Winegoal Shirt, Size L – Retail Value $34

Speaking of wine! This is a fun shirt that I will probably save for a nice summer girls night in. I’m not one for sayings on my clothing, but this one is silly enough that I can wear it with my girlfriends or just to lounge around at home in. The fabric is super soft and comfortable and I love the color! Although, I don’t think I would ever pay $34 for this shirt.

Jealous Tomato Satin Floral Tie Kimono, Size L – Retail Value $42

The pattern and colors of this kimono are so beautiful! I love it! It is so silky and smooth, made from light, airy satin. The model on their site is wearing it over a shirt, but my first thought was to use it as a bathrobe, although it’s much too short on me for that. I tried this styled open and also tied. I think it works both ways! How would you wear this?

Here is a closeup of the fabric and the ties. This features an inner tie and an outer one just like a traditional bathrobe might.

Verdict: I was really happy with the items I received in the My Fashion Crate Mystery Box. I expected a lot of repeats but was surprised that the clothing items were new to me and that they still managed to provide a few other items that were either new or different variations of what I had received in my monthly subscription. I also thought there was a good mix of items! I estimate the total value to be about $230.09 which is really great for a $38.95 ($34+$4.95 shipping) box and well over their promised value of $150. Even if the values for some items might be a bit inflated, this still averages out to about $4.33 for each of the 9 items, which is great!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today?  Yes! As of now, this box is still available, although the items you receive may vary from mine.
