It’s been almost 4 weeks since this first spoiler was released. How about some more spoilers Allure?

I definitely would never call Leona rose gold, it’s a much darker bronze. She must have mixed it up with Roseline.

Hi Sarah , I just wanted to let you know I have heard of Bossy brows and they seem like a dream to apply and work with , it is already on the paper { so nothing to draw on } place , rub the paper in place ,wait a sec or two remove and wow , brows that look like hair ~ I had as a child an accident with a heater pilot light and the blowback took my eyelashes and parts of my brows , they grew in by wonky , my brows are there but sparse , so a draw in brow is a plus for me . They look really sharp , at least give a google ~ Good Luck ~ I like Allure and if the new pricing comes with more full sizing of products , good for us . I know people complain a lot about the boxes regardless of who is the brand . I appreciate all I get , someone can benefit even if I donate to a women shelter , it makes me feel good knowing these items may make another women feel her best even if it is just a facial , or a new lip color , or a perfume sample ~ We need more heroines to step up and help out ladies in need ~ ///=^} ~

I am sad that the shade is the same name as my oldest sister. She is like all the bad qualities of our parents wrapped into one person. I really hope Allure steps up their game since they jacked up the price of the box. I had Boxycharm for a one year and have been with Ipsy for nearly 6 years. If you are on the fence about those two, I recommend Ipsy. The middle offering now allows you to pick three items out of the five items. This is fairly new for them as it started in August. My September box was valued at almost $400. Not bad for $25. Allure is very skin care heavy which can be great if that is what you are looking for at this time but Ipsy will help build your makeup collection. I am curious if everyone got the ELF brush in this months box? It states some will get the NYX brush, did you? I would have rather received that one but that is what happens when there are variations.

Reply ButtonReply

Caroline

I got the NYX brush. It is nice and the one I wanted.

Reply ButtonReply

Blue

I got both the Nyx brush and the cheaper ELF one. I was previously subbed through Amazon but after receiving my box I cancelled there and subbed through the website to lock in the price for a year. I’ll be honest I may cancel before then since they said you can get a refund for any unsent boxes. I got the ELF brush from the Amazon box which falls in line with what others have said and the Nyx from the actual website’s box. I did get the Moonchild highlighter palette as a sign up gift for September as well as the bonus box for signing up for a year account. The palette is gorgeous. The box sucked. It has products going back to November of 2018 that they had leftovers of. I’m positive it’s leftovers because some of the products aren’t even being produced anymore. Over half the box was from previous Allure boxes in the past two years. They just take stuff they have leftover and dump it in there and send it as a ‘bonus box worth xxx value’.

I agree with Ipsy. I’m a glambag plus member and every single month (I’m new to boxes so only been subbed to Allure and Ipsy since late spring/early summer) I’ve gotten things I really like and that have value. Yes sometimes I get something I don’t like or can’t use but I review it on their site and don’t receive anything like it in the next box. I will warn that they do a lot of ‘no name brand’ type companies so that part can be a bit hit or miss but it’s not terrible. I’ve only had maybe three products that the quality wasn’t there for me and at least one of those was a personal preference thing. This month for the Ipsy choices they sent me a really nice eye cream as well as a brightening serum. Skin care is marked high for me since I love it. For my own choices I ended up choosing two different eyeshadow palettes both with gorgeous colors as well as a non-waterproof Wander Beauty eyeliner that I’ve already tried out and am very pleased with. You definitely get your moneys worth.

Overall if you have to choose one go with Ipsy. Glossybox/boxycharm isn’t worth it at all at least to me. You pay the same price as Ipsy gbp but only get samples while with Ipsy you get full sizes.

Yes I received the NYX brush. You can email them and they should send it. Previously I received an empty bottle of a serum that spilled during shipping and they shipped another bottle right away. Also, I am not going to continue at the increased rate, so thank you for recommending the Ipsy box.

Reply ButtonReply

Betty

Yes, I received the NYX brush. I’m a new subscriber. I think all new subscribers will receive the NYX brush.

Reply ButtonReply

Gab

That’s a $30 eyeshadow, I can’t wait to see what the rest are.

Lana

Am I the only one who is happy with the spoilers (especially October) and prefers this to Ipsy and Boxy? I find the other two so confusing with their different tiers. Yes, at $23 Allure is maybe not the best value in the sub world, but at $13.75 for annual right now, it’s such a steal! I’ve been looking at Ipsy and Boxy before and it’s overwhelming to me, thinking about their offerings and comparing the two was making my head spin. This is such a straight forward option and a great deal

Reply ButtonReply

Lana

Less excited about the November box after getting the “mega bundle” today, it has my shimmer shadow needs covered. Agree with people who don’t love the mega bundle. I wasn’t even an Allure subscriber before and still didn’t love it. Oh well, it’s free. The September box is awesome for me

Reply ButtonReply

Andrea

October is the first month I am not thrilled with. However I have absolutely loved all the other boxes. The increase encouraged me to pay for the annual membership. The way I figure one meh box out of so many wonderful boxes? That’s a good ratio. And I have a family member who will take anything I don’t like. So none of it goes to waste. I am looking forward to see what they do with all the upcoming months.

Reply ButtonReply

Blue

In my “bonus box” I received full sized of: Mini Makeup Eraser,
LaSplash Art-Ki-Tekt waterproof slim eyeliner,
Ofra x Nikkietutorials Highlighter Everglow,
Floss lipgloss in Lax,
Laritzy Liquid Beam illuminator in Topaz,
Model co Metallic Eyeshadow Trio St Tropez,
Model co Metallic Eyeshadow Trio Mykonos,
Model co Eyelites Metallic Eyeshadow granite,
Doucce lip crayon in Winterberry (Allure 2018)
Two makeup brushes.

Sample size I received:
St Tropez Self Tan Purity Bronzing Water,
Mamonde Red Energy Recovery Serum,
Mamonde Petal Spa Oil to Foam
Olay Eyes pro-retinol eye treatment

There was another item but I had already handed it off to my daughter to put in the fridge since it said it works best if you refrigerate it. When I googled each of the items I found that most had been in previous Allure boxes and that several are not even being made or sold anymore.

Doreen

Mine is supposed to come today. What was in yours?

Blue

I agree with reeb. I got the ‘mega bundle’ which I refer to as the ‘bonus box’ and it had products from all the way back in 2018. It’s definitely leftovers since some aren’t even being produced or sold anymore. I’m going to give Allure a few months to show me they are better than this or I’ll cancel and get a refund for the unsent boxes left on my membership. I’ve generally liked at least half the stuff in every box so I’m really hoping to see an improvement with the new pricing.

reeb

I broke down and signed up for annual. Today I got the “mega-bundle” they were offering as incentive and OMG, I will never use anything in that box. It is literally filled with stuff from previous boxes that I ended up giving away. So if you’re going to go annual, don’t do it for the mystery box.

Alice

I agree with you. I am very tempted to sign up for annual before the price change. $13 a month for allure is way better than Ipsy. But if I have to pay month to month, Ipsy Plus or Boxycharm are definitely going to be better.

Amy44

Lana,

No, you are not the only one who is happy with the price and straight forward option of Allure. This is my adventure box. I don’t want to stress over what to choose. I’m fortunate to have skin that likes a varied diet, and don’t need make-up (but it’s still fun to try something new!). Locking in the annual deal has already saved me so much beyond the value of the boxes. Every time I am tempted my some new offering, I think, “but I already have Allure!”

Reply ButtonReply

Lynda

No. You are not the only one. I think the October spoilers are great. I’ve been subscribed to this box for almost two years and have always felt I get much more than my money worths. I also get Ipsy Glam Bag and Ipsy+ but I have found myself skipping more often than not. I loved the new choice in August but was so disappointed in September. I think 8 of about 15 of my choices were lipsticks and 3 were repeats for me. But Allure has always provided me with great brand names and great new products to try. And now for $13.75 I get more products and more full size so why wouldn’t I?

Reply ButtonReply

Robyn

How is it $13.75? When I do the math, it’s over $20 a box still.

Jess

I went to the Josephine Cosmetics website to see if Leona is really that shade and it is. I definitely wouldn’t describe that as rose gold. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work for me because I have hooded eyes and dark heavy shades like this just weigh down my lids too much. It’s such a shame; I would’ve liked a rose gold shade. I really wish Allure would offer several different shades that people could choose from instead of a really bold color that not everyone can pull off. I feel the same about the bright red lipsticks they keep sending. I never wear bright red, so products like that go straight to the give away box. That said, I give them to my friends and nieces, so these products never go to waste
🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Rayveniael

I too have deeply hooded eyes, but the Copper Foil magnetic is an eyeshadow that I use as an eyeliner. If you want to see how it looks I think I posted a recent of it. Just google my name or whatever and it should show at least one pic since this has been my eye look for about 2 years.

Reply ButtonReply

Jess

I never think to do that with my darker eye shadows. I bet this would look great as a liner. I’ll have to play around with it a little bit!

Reply ButtonReply

Sarah

I hear you! I also have Alopecia and do not have any eyebrows left at all. That has definitely changed how I wear eyeshadow. I don’t like the way this type of product feels all over. So I would use it basically as an eyeliner using a small flat brush. Hope that suggestion helps if you really want to try it.

Reply ButtonReply

Ann McDonald

Have you heard of eye brow tattoos? They are like those paper tats we use to put on our body. I read about them and saw photos. I’m impressed! Only about $12 for a set of 3 and they last for several days. I have see thru brows, literally no color to them and sparse. I have an impossible time drawing them in. Search amazon for them.

Amy S

You could use it as an eyeliner! I like my eyeshadows light and neutral but I enjoy having fun with eyeliners. I’m with you on lipstick colors – can’t wear bright red and hot pinks are even worse.

Reply ButtonReply

Zo

That’s how I use all sparkly/shimmery eye shadows I receive in sub boxes. Rose gold looks especially nice as an eyeliner. For everyday I will wear it only on the upper lids.

Cat

I think I’ll definitely wear this if it wears well. I like to look glam though. I am surprised it is worth $30!

Reply ButtonReply

Amy

This will be my second box as an annual so far could go either way keep or skip
Looks like an interesting product and wearable shade but I already have SO much eyeshadow and just bought more yesterday on clearance at Ulta

Excited for more spoilers and excited for my september box to arrive lol I can’t keep track of the month anymore

Reply ButtonReply

Cassandra

I cant get over the deal of an annual subscription. This box for under $14. I am worried it will be too many products but would also be a nice treat for a great deal.

Reply ButtonReply

Jackie

That’s how I felt. The price of it made it worth it, even if you only wind up liking really 1 or 2 items. I’m just going to cancel my ipsy.

Reply ButtonReply

Alice

I had Ipsy for a couple month and really didn’t care for it. Too many repeats or cheap brands stuff.

SM

I googled the Leona swatch and it does in fact look rose gold. Not sure what shade is pictured above.

Reply ButtonReply

Blue

On the Josephine Cosmetics website they do have a rose gold but it’s a different name. Make sure you are clicking Leona and that it loads. I would trust the brand to have the most accurate color listed unless you can find a video of someone using it to see how it comes out. The colors is a copper bronze with golden tones. Definitely darker than rose gold which is actually a lighter pinkish color with golden tones.

Reply ButtonReply

Coco1

I know. The Leona swatch looks like a true rose-gold on the Petit Vour website, but looks like copper here and on the Josephine Cosmetics website. I know colors aren’t exactly accurate online, but that’s quite a difference. So – which is more like the one Allure will be sending in this box??

Reply ButtonReply

Cat

I love it!!! I’m more excited about this than anything in the October box!

Reply ButtonReply

Mellissa

It looks pretty and wearable for me. Yippee!

Reply ButtonReply

Izzie

Not for me. I’m not wearing make up these days and I don’t think I’d be able to pull this off if I were (from the pic it looks quite a bold color for my pasty skin tone). Plus, I won’t be attending any holiday party or social events (The pandemic is still happening), so I have no use for it.

Reply ButtonReply

Kim

Same, same and same.

Reply ButtonReply

Jess

me too… I finally washed my one million makeup brushes since they were collecting dust & put them in their “quarantine” storage boxes haha which actually made me sad… only took me 6 months to realize I hadn’t put make up on since March!

Reply ButtonReply

Izzie

“Quarantine storage” lol!

Break

Even though I’m not big into eye shadow, this is from a high quality vegan brand that’s been featured in Petit Vour, so I’m open to trying it. I hope I’m not going to regret locking in for a year 😅

Reply ButtonReply

Charlotte

I like this a lot better than anything in the October box. I love cream shadow like this, especially shimmery/metallics. The color is great for Fall/Winter. Cautiously optimistic about the November box.

Reply ButtonReply

Shay

If this is like those Eyelites things we got from Model Co a while back, I think I’ll like it. I would rub the wand on my finger and then swipe my lid for a sheer wash of color, and it was much lighter than it looked in the container. We got another brand not long after that and it was awful–glitter everywhere–but the Model Co one I did like.

Reply ButtonReply

Dawn

Cancelled… no regrets.

Reply ButtonReply

Laura

Price info needs to be updated in this post.

Reply ButtonReply

Erin

That’s what I was thinking too.

Technically the price info is correct (as of today, 9/16) but since the post is re: the November box, it should really make at least a note that the box will be $23 by then.

Reply ButtonReply

Whitney Earl

Just in case anyone missed it, Starting in October , Allure has increased in price. $23. They say it’ll be 6 products, 3 or more full sized each month and $100+ value. I wanted to tell the lady who runs MSA.COM But I don’t know how to tag her. I emailed to cancel and they offered me 3 boxes at $15.00. So I just wanted to throw that out there.

Reply ButtonReply

Julia

Thank you. Everyone knows. MSA covered it extensively.

Reply ButtonReply

Judee

I personally love a creamy, metallic, bronze-y shade for the holidays!! Swipe on the shadow, add a nude lip, and a rose blush and you’ve got a gorgeous Thanksgiving look.

Can’t wait to see the what other products are going to be included!!

Reply ButtonReply

Melissa

That sounds like a lovely look! I agree that this looks bronze, but the description is rose gold. It definitely doesn’t look like rose gold to me!

Reply ButtonReply

Nat

This color is just bad. But I saw in small print that there will be 8 total products. So here hoping there will be something good in the box.

Reply ButtonReply

Lynn

I’m crossing my fingers! Gotta be something for everyone with eight items!

Reply ButtonReply

Jen

I switched to Ipsy Glam Bag plus after the price increase and cancelled Allure. For a similar price, I would rather be able to choose my products as I lean more towards skincare. I have to say that I was more impressed with Ipsy by a long shot. I don’t understand why Allure doesn’t offer customization when you get to that price point. I have no regrets canceling Allure.

Reply ButtonReply

Nicole

I have had Ipsy Plus and Allure for over a year now and I think you made the right choice. I love Allure at $15, not so much for $23. I also decided to stick with Ipsy Plus. I figure if Allure has an amazing box every now and then, I’ll pick it up, but I’m not staying on monthly with that increase.

Reply ButtonReply

Jen

That’s my plan. I figure if I see an Allure box I like I’ll just order it as a stand-alone. Of course with that price increase, it would have to be pretty awesome to get me to purchase from Allure.
