I just got my September box today and there is no way that the Cleo noir liner is full sized. It looks to be about half the size of the one in the picture, so that seems really disingenuous. I just started my annual subscription on your recommendation and I’m already disappointed

The Elemis balm is so great. A fantastic makeup melt that smells like essential oils. I’m addicted!

I’m loving the Elemis Balm too, LR. My skin has been cleaner and more moisturized since I started using it.

That eyeliner was a big disappointment. No staying power, at all.

Agreed….

Allure used to be one of my favorites and I never thought I would ever get rid of it.. I love the skin care and I love being introduced to new brands. The samples are usually a great size too! But right now I have a whole box dedicated to samples and I’m super disappointed in the price increase. I may keep it for the first month of price change to see but the spoilers ain’t it.. another face serum (which I have way too many of) and a $70 nail polish.. that seems like they put that in their to get the overall value of the box up. I don’t like it when boxy does it so I won’t like it when allure does. $23 seems like boxycharm prices and with boxy its all full sizes. Plus I spend a lot on boxy pop up lately so I may just invest my money back into buying things I actually want.

What $70 nail polish?

I just signed up for the yearly membership on September 7th, neither my September box or Megabundle has shipped yet. When does this box normally ship?

Reply ButtonReply

Doreen

I signed up on Sept 6th and just got shipping notices for the Sept box and megabundle last night so maybe you will get yours today?

Reply ButtonReply

KL

Thank you Doreen.

Doreen

Mine just says “new member gift”. I assumed that that would be the megabundle because I wasn’t expecting the anastasia palette since I signed up for the year.

KL

Doreen, did the shipping notification for the megabundle say it was for the megabundle or did it say new member gift? I am asking because I signed up Sept 3rd and just received notification that my September box has shipped and then another notification that my “new member gift” has shipped. I am thinking that the new member gift is the anastasia pallet and the megabundle has not shipped yet but I do not know based on how they phrased it. Maybe, the new member gift is the megabundle and the pallet is in with the Sept. box?

Amy

My September box looked nothing like this.

Lynda

So what did you get?

I liked most of the products in my previous Allure boxes. I’ve only been getting them since the end of spring. I decided to switch from my monthly Amazon sub to a year sub on the main website to lock in the price. I’m regretting that a bit now. I’m going to get a second box this month of the same stuff and I’m not impressed at all. I don’t wear mascara. I’ve got a ton of sheet masks since Allure sends one every month. I can buy that exact same ELF brush at my local Dollar Tree for $1. The sun screen is tiny and would have been better in a box during spring or summer (yes I wear sunscreen every time I’m out in the sun for longer than five minutes). Dry conditioner is a miss with me too. I have wavy/curly hair and do the curly girl method so this will just give me build up on my hair. The Elemis is oil based which worries me about causing breakouts. I feel like this box is a bit of a mess honestly. The only thing that I’m actually excited about is the eyeliner. I really hope they step up their game next month.

Vivian

Yay!!! So excited to see cosmetics. I love purple it looks great on my green eyes.

Reply ButtonReply

Penny

This is a disappointing box for me. I don’t wear eye makeup due to extreme sensitivities with the skin around my eyes. Two eye products in one box (and they are the full sized items) are useless for me.

Reply ButtonReply

Charlotte

Not the most exciting box, but I will use every single item. That Wander mascara is an HG of mine, I’m excited for a purple liner, and curious to try everything else (dry conditioner actually sounds genius?).

If I buy myself a three month gift subscription, will it auto-renew?

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

No, gift subscriptions do not auto-renew. 🙂 I only get myself gift subscriptions so I don’t have to deal with calling or emailing them to cancel 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Amy

If I am a new subscriber through the “three month gift” subscription, will I receive the new member gift of ABH Moonchild kit?

dia

thank you, that is my plan as well. I’m getting a three month gift sub to try it out before the price increases while I take a few months’ break from ipsy.

Kat

I know they’re increasing the price in October, but for as long as it’s been $15, Allure has been the best bang for the buck beauty sub around.

They have the contents of the Amazon version up on Amazon now. The only difference is that you are for sure getting the Elf Highlighter Brush and not the NYX brush if you get your box through Amazon

Reply ButtonReply

Lisa

Coming here to say same also Amazon version has soothing aloe mask. I am glad I went to look I skipped July and August once I saw I didn’t like Sept either I canceled. Pretty sure I got email to. When I went to look at Sept variety it said subscription was active and due to renew Sept 4th!

Nat

I am on the fence about this box. Wish there was information out there regarding that eyeliner brand

Reply ButtonReply

Pink5

Cleonoir is a new company, less than 5 years old.

Their website is all about empowerment, but is a little short on details.

Reply ButtonReply

Marion

The Cleo Noir trademark was filed by Mars Creative Group, LLC…. which was founded by the CEO of Doucce Cosmetics.

Christy

CLEO? They’re popular in Korea/Japan. Was my go-to OG eyeliner brand for many years. Glides like a dream, stays on all day, and the purple is great! I have all their colors.
The tip may get hard and scratchy when it’s dried so make sure you rub it on your hand to soften/melt it a little before use.

Randie

I think the Japanese brand might be Clio.

Mellissa

Totally worth it for the mascara and the purple eye liner. I have light green eyes and love purple liner with them.

I will use everything in this box. This is the best subscription box that I’ve tried and I’ve tried a lot.

Reply ButtonReply

Cassandra

Where do you put on this eyeliner on so it complements vs looks purple?

Reply ButtonReply

Charlotte

Cassandra, I actually really like putting colored liner on my lower lash line (while keeping it simple on top with just black liner and mascara). It’s a fun way to get a pop of color without doing a full purple look.

Amanda

I’m not going to lie – I’m super excited for that purple eyeliner.

Reply ButtonReply

zo

Thank you for pointing that out. I’m so used to eyeliners being black that I didn’t even look to see if it was different.

Reply ButtonReply

Kate

YES!! Finally not black! And purple makes blue eyes pop!

Reply ButtonReply

MsBailey

I’m a bit cynical – a drugstore brush (which I like but c’mon) and a sunscreen which should have been included in a spring or summer box, and yet another sheet mask.

Reply ButtonReply

Lynda

Sunscreen should be used year round.

Reply ButtonReply

Dea

The makeup brushes that I bought years ago from the elf website For one dollar each are still performing great today.

Reply ButtonReply

Marion

Haha, I’d rather have an elf brush than one of the ones with crazy-high faux retail values that are ~exclusive~ to BoxyCharm & Ipsy.

Reply ButtonReply

zo

I have tried umpteenth mascaras in the sub box world and to my surprise I loved Wander mascara so much that I paid full price for another one. So I am very happy to be getting a full size in this box. That and the sheet mask are my faves in this box.
