No way. If I want a skin care box I will buy a Beauty Fix (better brands and a great reward system). It seems that every single beauty box is now obsessed with skin care products. I like a mix of makeup, skin care and beauty related items. Allure used to do that for $15. I was there from day 1. The boxes were already going downhill at $15 and now they want $23? Looks like another box going up in flames

I still remember the Red Carpet Limited Edition Allure box from February 2016. I don’t even care that the makeup in it was drugstore brands – THAT is what a beauty box should look like IMO. That’s the standard I hold them all to, and the vast majority of them in the past few years have failed that comparison.

They had other great limited edition boxes that year – Bridal, Teen Vogue, Conde Nast Traveler – what on earth happened to all that? When was the last time Allure even put out a limited edition box?

THAT’s is the kind of stuff I want to see every month, not a lackluster collection of skincare that I won’t use anyway. The last Allure box I remember being excited about was the one with the Drunk Elephant Sukari and the MAC lipstick, and that was two years ago.

I for one am super stoked to get this box! I pay for the subscription through Amazon, and this box was only $16. Though I did get an email saying it may change after December. I love everything in this box, personally I think it’s def worth $23. The lipstick is great, a bit too much for me but if I mix a little with my lip balm I get a nice sheer red which is more me! Give me all the nice lotions for my super dry winter skin! I like the thick lotions with barrier ingredients like the Ceramidin cream. The tube will prob last me a few weeks since a little will go a long way. Can’t wait to try the Vit C powder – plan on mixing it with my “glow serum”. More eye serums? Heck yeah!!! Love this box so much!

I’m not sure why the verso is labeled as a full size because it’s a delux sample. The full size is 1 fl oz for $80. I can’t even find the .5 for sale. The boxes are ok but for the price increase we should be getting something like the “award winners box” I know most of the products pay for themselves but there are boxes that give you a lot more and you get to choose your full-size. If it keeps going like this I’m canceling which is sad because I have always loved allure.

If the nail polish is full sized its a rip off. I compared it to my regular nail polish bottles and it is half the size. Full size my rear, who are they trying to fool? There is ONE full size in this box. They better wow me next month or im out

Amy

I just cancelled. I’m so sick about this. I have been a subscriber for 5 years! The box is no where near as good with a price hike.

Reply ButtonReply

Sher

I haven’t been paying close attention lately and missed a lot! Today my October Allure came just loose in the (cardboard) mailing box! Plus, I didn’t know about the $8 fee jump. That was ballsy. Do they just throw the makeup in the mailer and leave out the nice packed box? It was just slamming around it there. Please. I’m annoyed & canceling.

I hear there may be a Laura Mercier translucent powder in some boxes. I am excited over this box… I’m low on the vitamin C powder and dr gross Retinol eye serum which helped me get rid of milia and can’t wait to compare the Verso. My box has shipped… Yay😎

SBR

I saw that the powder was for new members😓

I am having issues with MILIA and COMeDONES. WHat is the best way to get rid of them?? Thanks friends

AMY

Canceling. $23? I should have canceled before October 1st

Reply ButtonReply

Crystal

This is like the same box we were getting for the $15/mo price…am I missing what is the big reason for an $8 jump???

Great items yes but still, we were already getting this at $15.

Once my year ends I won’t renew for $23 if I don’t see the reason for the $8 hike in price.

Reply ButtonReply

Karyn

same here, i just don’t see the added value for the price increase. and having the ‘full size’ items be nail polish and vitC power is not impressive at all. Already 3 boxes into my year and unless it gets way better i will not renew.

Reply ButtonReply

Carla

I agree I also dont see an additional $8 value in the box. I will stick with my year and when its up cancel.

Reply ButtonReply

Amy

Also cancelling after more than 5 years! Last two boxes (and peeked at next month) are not worth it. I’m just sick about this. Allure was my favorite box.

Sarah

Is the Mega Bundle worth signing up for a year for?

Reply ButtonReply

Kathee

I think it is. I haven’t been subscribing to Allure for a long while, so everything in the mega bundle was new to me. I got a full size ofra highlighter, which, surprisingly, I hated. A la ritezy liquid highlighter which I loved; a bunch of eye shadows and brushes that I can all use or gift, a really good brush tip eyeliner, 2 lip products, 2 tanning products which I’m tossing, and a few skin care items that looked quite promising. I’d say there are about 2-3 boxes worth of stuff in there. I plan to skip the months that don’t appeal to me, so the 12 boxes I prepaid for could very well last me much longer than a year. Each box I do decide to keep would only cost a little under $14 with the locked-in price. With hopefully better curations, I think it’s a steal!

Reply ButtonReply

Sherri

Linnea – when I called to upgrade to annual to take advantage of the reduced rate for the year, the agent told me that if I saw spoilers, etc. and wanted to skip a box, to just call by the 3rd and let them know I wanted to skip that box, and the my sub would be extended out a further month.

Linnea

Hi I didn’t know you can skip a box? How do you do that?

Rachel

I’m wouldn’t pay $23 a month but the yearly sub is a bargain. I received the mega bundle today. Blech. All items from previous boxes and mostly eye shadows which I don’t use. But I would have purchased the yearly subscription anyway so not a big deal.

Reply ButtonReply

Carla

is the make up eraser full size?

Reply ButtonReply

Cassidy

Mine came with the Mini and I’ve seen a lot of others who got the Mini as well

Andrea

This is my favorite box. I have loved loved loved every box I have received. Needless to say I was sad about the increase, so I decided to pay for the year, since I do enjoy the box so much. October will be the first box I am not thrilled with ironically. I will be giving away several items.
I will decide at the end of the year if its worth the extra charge.

Mandi

Allure used to be $10 ( it was a first month promotion that they usually just kept you at $10 for several months) and the box used to actually be well rounded. I guess I’m one of the minority who can’t just change skincare products like underwear and this box hasn’t really had any makeup items all year. Now that the price is increasing by almost 50% for pretty much the exact same box I’m cancelling again. I’ll stick with ipsy and boxycharm. Way better value for the money. Bye bye allure for the last time. Lol.

Reply ButtonReply

Sarah C

This box stinks so I will be cancelling. The products would stink at $15 but that’s better than $23. The eye cream I’ve received in several boxes, I don’t wear lipstick (I do wear lipgloss) and in my state we have to wear masks. The $200 value is bogus and even if it was if I’m only going to use 1 product it’s still not worth it.

Vio

I am so dissapointed with this box… the worst one yet.

Melinda Genitempo

I ADORE ALLURE BOX

Reply ButtonReply

Sherri H

I use to adore the Allure boxes but now it seems like they are trying to be like other subs and trying to make more money for value that is not there in the products they are trying to pass off as a Full Size Product, like the nail polish.

Sherri H

Totally Agree!

Reply ButtonReply

Heather a

23$!!! Good thing I bought a year!

Reply ButtonReply

Sherri H

I dont think that this is hardly worth spending $23.00 on, especially having a nail polish for a full size product the first month they increase there price. , when i can pay two extra dollars for 5 Full Size products for the Ipsy Plus or BoxyCharm! I have a feeling that Allure is going to lose alot of subscribers!

Reply ButtonReply

Deb

Yes they are going to lose alot of subscribers!! What made the box great was the 15.00 price. This is not a 23.00 box. I canceled today.

Reply ButtonReply

Jess

I know I’m probably going to sub to boxycharm or something even with all the variations I’d rather pay 2 more bucks since I like makeup more anyway.

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

I’m thinking about taking the deal of 165$ for the year since they’re raising the price, I’ve never been with Allure and Sept and Oct items really seem to suck! But I do want to catch that price before it goes up if they should start coming out with better products, but after the year I’m not resubscribing! No way am I paying 23$ a month for that, but I’m a sub for both Ipsy and Boxy and Boxy is a good box but Ipsy fucking sucks! And I’ve only been with them for a month!! Their customer service is TERRIBLE! They haven’t answered my emails for days, they cancelled a big pop up order I bought for over a 100$ and stated fraudulent payment even though I’ve been using the same payment method for ALL my purchases on Ipsy and I’ve even bought stuff after that purchase and all good! So there’s something really shade about that company, and now they ignore my messages. They give “influencers” and celebs great boxes and all the attention in the world but others get mediocre products and no customer service! I also can’t review my items because of some problem on their site or something, I don’t know since they won’t answer, and they miss items, send empty bags. Boxy even missed half of a sale order I made, only sent me three items out of nine! so I wouldn’t go praising those subscriptions all that much just because we get full size products.

Sherri H

Yeah, it is sad for me, because i always thought that the Allure box was one of the better and cheaper beauty subs but now i wouldnt even think about signing back up.
I am with you, it looks like Ipsy Glam Plus or Boxycharm for me!

Sara

I have been evaluating boxes for awhile after quitting Ipsy and Boxy, and had decided to go with Allure. Before the price raise! Then I decided paying $13.50 a month (by paying for an annual subscription before the price raise) I’d come out okay. I would not be happy with this box at $23, but I am at $13.50. Let’s see where they go from here.

Reply ButtonReply

Camille Morrow

I agree. I was like- LOVING the value and products of allure the passed 5 months- like, what an understated sub box- I thought. Then I was charged for an entire year- $162- instead of $15 for the month of July and, it took months to get this resolved. Finally get refunded and they offered me 3 months @ half off- so, sept oct nov. I’ll stay (if they honor that with increase beginning oct) but only bc of the discount. This box- these products, fail in comparison to their previous valued boxes. Fingers crossed for oct. but usually, they go BIG on a launch like this. Ugh

Reply ButtonReply

Mary

I’m a yearly subscriber, and though this is a solid box, I’m not wowed by getting a nail polish as one of three full size items in the newly priced box. If they are raising the price this high, nearly as high as Boxycham or ipsy glam bag plus, they need to measure themselves by the same yardstick. This box doesn’t come close. We’ll see how the next few months go.

Reply ButtonReply

Camille Morrow

You said it perfectly. I’m not hopeful now that I’ve seen the spoilers for October. I’d like to think they’d want everyone talking about how bomb the sub box is and how worth it the increase was etc. total opposite. It’s gonna fail like when Ipsy launches the ultimate.

Reply ButtonReply

E

I’m keeping this for the vitamin c serum and eye cream solely. I was actually going to purchase the eye cream. Not their best though. I’m giving it till December for them to wow me

Reply ButtonReply

Charlotte

You should know that the Nue Co isn’t a serum, but instead a powder you can add to other skincare items.

I personally have concerns with how that might affect the effectiveness of the Vitamin C, which is why I’m skipping this box.

Reply ButtonReply

Anna Z

I’m torn between signing up for a year with allure or trying different subscriptions throughout the year that equate to that same price. I did try allure for July and loved a lot of the products but because my skin is somewhat sensitive, I tend to only try one new product at a time, and that can lead to a lot of stuff sitting unused! I wonder if they will have anymore offers once this 165$ deal expires…

Reply ButtonReply

Alice

My take…you’re already saving money toward what you really want by not getting Allure’s annual. $165+tax is a hunk of change up front for most people. Think about it…only 3 full size, no choice item.

Reply ButtonReply

Alice

I believe that’s a very wise decision!

Anna Z

That’s a really good point! I think I will hold off for now and if there is a box In a future month that wows me, just get the one. 🙂

JesCro

I decided to skip this month. At the price point, I would have wanted different full-size products (not nail polish). I really like Allure, but was only interested in the Verso and Dr. Jart. I only sub through Amazon now, so I will just wait for the November spoilers.

Reply ButtonReply

Errmmm

These are October’s spoilers, not September’s. Just a reminder.

Reply ButtonReply

Cope

Yeah I expected with the pay increase the box would be better then ever. Especially now that the price is close to ipsy plus & boxycharm.
But unfortunately it doesn’t look very promising

Reply ButtonReply

Errmmm

Yeah for the first time in a year I’m going to skip a month (October). I have 7 nail polishes in the same color already, I have a tub of the powdered L-asorbic acid, and I have 5 full-sized eye creams to get through. I’ll same my $23 and hopefully November will be a bit more intriguing!

Reply ButtonReply

Emily e Hawes

I love allure I’m so happy and shocked they gave us the chance to lock in the price at a yearly rate. I believe its just about 14$ a box, I live in California taxes are kinda high. But I really believe in allure and think they will come out with some amazing boxes end of 2020 and into 2021. Can’t wait

Reply ButtonReply

Nicole

Ok for $13.75 a month but definitely not for the $23. Unless you want something specifically in the box.

Reply ButtonReply

G

Yeah, I’m torn. It’s a pretty good deal for $13.75 a box but honestly I’m not very excited about anything here or in last months box and don’t know if I should sub for a year.

Reply ButtonReply

Beth

Sadly I’m just not excited about their first box at 23 dollars. If I look at other beauty boxes at this price like Boxy or Ipsy. I’m am sad because I didn’t want to cancel and always loved this box so much so that I didn’t even look at spoilers and made it a surprise every month. Luckily I ordered from Amazon so I can cancel or subscribe in seconds.

Reply ButtonReply

Tanya

This looks like a good box for me and I LOVE that they don’t do variations. Since I’m locked in by paying for a year at the lower rate, this is a great deal for me for this month at least! The lipstick doesn’t look like it will work for me, but everything else looks like it’s worth a try!

Reply ButtonReply

Kristin

Actually this year they started doing variants, but for this box they stated no variants for October. I’ve been happy with the variants I have received so not a big deal for me.
