Our Subscription Box Favorites for August!
We’ve started a new monthly post highlighting our favorite discoveries from subscription boxes! Here are our favorite items from the past month:
The Item: All the Grown Alchemist options from the Fall FabFitFun Box
The Cost: Retail Value $49-67
From: Fall FabFitFun Box
Why I love it: I’ve been using this whole set for the past few weeks and have fallen in love with the Grown Alchemy brand – everything is gentle, works wonderfully well, and is ingredient-conscious, too. If you haven’t sampled it yet – I highly recommend it!
Anna Reilly’s Favorite:
The Cost: Retail Value $9.95
Why I love it: I’ve been reviewing the women’s Yogi Surprise box for a while now, so I decided to review the men’s box just out of curiosity. I found the August box to be pretty unisex, thanks in part to products like this great natural deodorant. Not only is it doing a nice job curtailing my summertime sweat, but as someone who tends towards woodsier, more traditionally “masculine” scents in perfumes, candles, etc., I found this formula’s combo of cedarwood, vanilla, sandalwood, and mandarin sooo dreamy.

The Cost: $32
Why I love it: Assembling this flower crown was a really fun, relaxing craft. The whole project only took me about 25 minutes to complete, which was a good warmup for someone who isn’t used to letting her creative juices flow. I enjoyed stepping out of my comfort zone and warming up the hot glue gun to put this pastel beauty together.

The Cost: $55
Why I love it: This product combines one of my favorite brands (Sunday Riley) with one of my favorite subscription box items (full-size skincare!). The Martian line from Sunday Riley is a godsend for my natural red, oily, acne-prone skin, and it really helps me keep the grease at bay without irritating my skin.

The Item: Cat Apparel
The Cost: Unsure, but estimate value to be $45 based on similar past items from this subscription
Why I love It: A lot of the time, I pick the item that gets me the best cat pictures. I could look at cat pictures all day. This month, this costume was definitely that item:

The Item: Marama Naturals Lavender Shortbread Cookie Scrub, 3.4 oz
The Cost: $14.99
Why I Picked It: This is honestly one of the best sugar scrubs I’ve ever used! The lavender smell is super rich and I love that the texture is more “dry” out of the jar, letting you mix in just the right amount of water before you scrub. It also seems much more hydrating than scrubs I’ve used before and a little bit goes a long way.

The Item: “Check It Off Notes & To Do’s” Notepad
The Cost: Estimated Value $15.00
From: Trendy Memo
Why I love it: I’m all about taking notes and making to-do-list, and this “Check It Off Notes & To Do’s notepad is perfect for me. I have plenty of room to take notes and little check boxes to check off my to-do lists. This notepad is a must-have for those who like me live for to-do lists.

The Item: Cheeks Ahoy Organic Bamboo Facial Rounds
The Cost: Listed Value $5.00 (Buy 8 for $10.30 here)
Why I love it: I am a big fan of reusable items for everyday things- nursing pads, cloth diapers, etc. and this is something I didn’t even know existed. I use disposable cotton rounds almost nightly for makeup removal so finding out there was a version that was softer, more effective and also a greener option was awesome. These felt so incredibly soft and gentle on my skin! I also love that they come from a small business on Etsy; I’m always happy to see a box support those, but I was so sad to find that these only ship to Canada. Luckily, I have had lots of helpful reader suggestions for finding more!
