We've started a new monthly post highlighting our favorite discoveries from subscription boxes! Here are our favorite items from the past month:
Haley's Favorite:
The Item: Marc Jacobs Twinkle Pop Eye Stick, in Honey Bunny
The Cost: $28
From: Marc Jacobs Beauty Makeup Mischief Mystery Bag
Why I love it: I have loved these Twinkle Pop Shadow Sticks for a couple years now. The pigment and shimmers are bold and opaque, and the formula feels cooling and refreshing! They dry down and stay all day for me, they blend easily and wear well under other eyeshadow like a crease and outer corner color, too. I especially love these for Summer because they are so cooling, quick, and wearing them by themselves is enough for a pretty, simple look (which works especially well when paired with a bright lipstick, which I tend to wear most days for Summer!).

Anna's Favorite:
The Item: Hank Sauce Cilanktro Hot Sauce, 8 fl. oz.
The Cost: $14.00
From: Robb Vices
Why I love it: There are people in the world who are SUPER into hot sauce, and I've certainly never considered myself one of them. But here I am telling everyone I know about this mouthwateringly good hot sauce! I don't find the cilantro taste to be all that strong, though I can tell it's adding an herby freshness to the flavor. To me, the garlic is the star of the show, and there's no better way to get me onboard with a food than adding oodles of garlic to it! I'm putting this on every omelet, taco, and sandwich I make this summer!

Nicole's Favorite:
The Item: Denim Body-Con Dress by Rebel Wilson X Angels Size 22W
The Cost: $129.00
From: Trunk Club
Why I love it: THIS DRESS IS EVERYTHING! I love versatile pieces like this one because you get a real bang for your buck. Sure, it is a bit pricey, but it seems reasonable when you imagine the infinite ensembles you will be able to style from this staple piece. It can be worn alone for a cute coquettish look or with a shirt underneath for an effortlessly cool outfit. The adorable get-ups are infinite with this number! In addition, this dress is immensely comfortable to wear due to the flattering cut and the stretchy fabric. I had to pass on this one, sadly, but I sense I will make it mine! Someday!

Jess's Favorite:
The Meal: Leek and Gruyere Galette with Dijon, Shallot, and Pine Nuts
The Cost: $13.50 a meal
From: Plated (Coupon: Save 25% off your first 4 weeks of Plated with any subscription plan (up to a $159.20 value))
Why I love it: A galette is not something I would normally attempt to make, so I love that Plated pushed me out of my comfort zone with this recipe! The end result was savory, flaky, and satisfying. The onions and leeks had a somewhat sweet, caramelized flavor that was really nicely balanced with the spicy crunch of the radish and nuttiness of the toasted pine nuts. So delicious.

Andy's Favorite:
The Item: Sierra Designs DriDown 650 Pillow
The Cost: $29.95
From: Cairn (Coupon: Use code TRAILHEAD to get the Trailhead welcome box your first month! Check out our review of the Trailhead Welcome Box to see what will be included.)
Why I love it: I ended up taking this with me on a 2-night kayak camping trip in West Virginia and it was a great addition to my sleeping kit. It tucked easily into the hood of my mummy bag and provided a nice amount of cushion to keep my head elevated while I slept in my hammock. The compressed pillow is so light that I plan on using it regularly in the coming months during backpacking and hiking trips as well - I'm ok with giving up the pack space for the added comfort since it's so lightweight.

Ragan's Favorite:
The Item: Black Tulip by Nest Fragrances
The Cost: Buy an 8 mL Rollerball for $27
From: Scentbird for Women (Coupon: Buy one month, get your second month free!, no coupon required, just use this link)
Why I Love It: Scentbird's “scent of the month” selections are hit or miss for me, and while I don’t normally like floral fragrances, I *do* normally like fragrances with “black” or “dark” or “noir” in the name. This one has notes of patchouli, plum, violet, and pink pepper, and I think the patchouli and pink pepper moderate the violet enough, while the plum provides a little sweetness, to make this perfect for my tastes.

Lacey's Favorite:
The Item: 10" x 10" Letterboard
From: Parabo Box (Coupon: Use referral code MYSUBADDICT to get a free bonus item in your first box!)
Why I love it: This is a simple case of "I've almost bought one of these for myself so many times, I was so happy to get one in a box and not have spent twice as much money on it!" 🙂 But seriously, felt letterboards have been Instagram-cool for awhile now, so I'm surprised we've actually not seen one in a box until now. And it *is* a really cool way to display a photo, which I'd never have thought of without this example! After this particular box, Parabo Box did raise their price from $29.99 to $39.99 every other month, so I hope we continue to see them send unique and modern home items with the great value they are known for going forward.

Rob's Favorite:
The Item: Original Penguin Tie
The Cost: Listed Value $55
From: SprezzaBox (Coupon: Save 25% off your first month! with coupon code MSABOX25)
Why I love it: I absolutely love this tie - I’ve received plenty of ties from many subscriptions boxes over the years, but this is by far my favorite! The print is a classic and will pair with so many different colored button-ups! The quality is top-notch and the value of this tie is about double of the total cost to receive the box!

Jessica Hapak's Favorites:
The Item: April's 5th Avenue Style Monthly Subscription
The Cost: $98 a month
Why I love it: I think it may technically be cheating to choose an entire box as my favorite, but this box deserves the honor. Opening this box from 5th Avenue gave me that new subscription box feeling that we all got when we first started subscribing, and I hadn't felt that joy and excitement in a while. Everything in this box matches my style perfectly, only I feel like it is my style taken up a notch. This is the style of the Jessica I aspire to be. I can’t wait to build up a collection of stylish things and be one of the sharpest dressed law-students-soon-to-be-lawyers around.

Christen's Favorite:
The Item: Pinch Me Therapy Dough, Spa Scent, 3 oz.
The Cost: $24.99
From: Nosejoy (Coupon: Use code MSA5 to save $5 off your first box!)
Why I love it: This is such a unique product! It’s stress-relief puddy that was developed by a clinical hypnotherapist to reduce stress. Not only does the squeezing motion relieve tension a la stress ball, but this product’s calming color (which is a little more purple-y in person) and lavender scent were both thoughtfully incorporated to aid in the endeavor of stress reduction. I love the scent it leaves on my hands after using it!

Laine's Favorite:
The Item: Helvetica Book Titles Premium Tee
The Cost: Listed Value $25
From: Accio! Box (Coupon: Use code NEWSUBSCRIBER to save 10% off your first box!)
Why I love it: Not every Accio! Box comes with a tee inside, but when they are included, they are usually one of my favorite items from the whole month. They offer a really premium tee that is buttery-soft, and the fit is relaxed without being sloppy. This is the second month in a row that my favorite item has come from an Accio! Box, which isn’t a surprise to me - the boxes are so well-curated that the items are usually incredibly beloved in my house! This piece is an instant fan hit that anyone who knows the series well will instantly understand - I anticipate many compliments when I wear this out and about!

Brandi's Favorite:
The Item: Cocokind My Matcha All-Over Moisture Stick (0.5 oz)
The Cost: $8.99
From: NaturAli Trimester 4 Pregnancy Box (Coupon: Use code MSA15 to save 15% off your first box!)
Why I love it: This stick is awesome and can be used pretty much anywhere that you need a moisture boost- lips, under your eyes and it even says it can reduce dark circles. I use it nightly on my lips and it makes them feel super smooth. I’ve also used it on dry patches on my face and it clears them up overnight. It’s made from coconut oil, beeswax and matcha tea powder and has a slight tea scent, but is very mild. It feels incredibly moisturizing and I love that the stick is a bit oversized which means there is a bit more product and it’s easy to locate if you throw it in your purse.

The Item: Peripeti Candles Bamboo Linen Room Spray
The Cost: $5.00
From: The PMS Package (Coupon: Use code PMS25 to save 25% off your first box!)
Why I love it: This room spray is absolutely heavenly! The scent reminds me of a fancy combination of rain forests, laundry, and a fresh spring day. Not only have I used it to freshen drapes and couches, but I'm guilty of using it on my clothes, too.

Colette's Favorite:
The Item: Obscura Rosé 2016 (California, USA)
The Cost: Estimated Value $15
From: Bright Cellars (Coupon: Get 50% off your first month!, no coupon required, just use this link)
Why I love it: With the warm weather finally here - I officially proclaim it Rosé season in my home. And, in my opinion, this is an amazingly delicious Rosé. I found it to be refreshing, light, and full of character. The citrus flavors were the perfect complement and added the needed acidity to the sweet fruit notes. I plan on ordering a case of this to keep on hand all summer long!
