Nosejoy April 2018 Review
Nosejoy always includes a welcome card with a few subscriber discounts and an info slip that gives a little info about each item in your box. I love that they offer the price of each lovely-smelling product and the website for the company from which it was sourced. Nosejoy is really good about introducing subscribers to small businesses, and in some ways, I think of this box as being just as much about that effort as it is about receiving the awesome treats themselves!
This month's theme is "Helping Hands" a theme that shines a spotlight on brands that have a charitable aspect to them. And, of course, they're all products to be used on your hands. I'm all for this theme! Ready to see what's included?
Pinch Me Therapy Dough, Spa Scent, 3 oz. — Retail Value $24.99
Okay, how cool is this? It's stress-relief puddy that was developed by a clinical hypnotherapist to reduce stress. Not only does the squeezing motion relieve tension a la stress ball, but this product's calming color (which is a little more purple-y in person) and lavender scent were both thoughtfully incorporated to aid in the endeavor of stress reduction. I can't get over how well-thought-out this product is, and how awesomely unique of a surprise it was to find in my Nosejoy box. I also had a really hard time peeling it out of its little jar because, seriously, how perfect is that "pinch me" imprint? When I finally did, this puddy felt really soft and soothing in my hands. It's similar to adult Play-Doh, but way classier, and smells sooo nice. It didn't leave any sort of residue or stain on my fingers, nor did it stick to my rings, but it did leave a faint perfume-y lavender scent behind. Love!
The charity Pinch Me Therapy works with is Bootstrap USA, a program that helps fund stress management for soldiers.
Hand in Hand Coral Scent Bar Soap, 5 oz. — Retail Value $6.00
Here's another truly beautiful product that looked so perfect and pretty in its paper wrapper that I hesitated to open it! This bar soap is suitable for full-body use. Its ingredients include shea butter and cocoa butter, it excludes palm oil (bad for the environment!), and its scent is a blend of bergamot, eucalyptus, and orange. What can I say? It's a beautiful-looking, blissful-smelling bar of soap from a sustainably minded, charitable company. It's pretty much perfect!
The charitable component of Hand in Hand's brand is that they work with My Neighbor's Children to donate one bar of soap and one month of clean water to a child in Haiti for every bar of soap purchased.
Mangiacotti Lemon Verbena Hand Sanitizer Spray, 0.5 fl. oz. — Retail Value $6.50
I always carry hand sanitizer in my purse, and for the past few years, it's exclusively been in spray form. Partially because it seems less common for gel hand sanitizers to have a nice scent (and I'm not trying to smell like I'm in the doctor's office every time I want clean hands), but also in part because it seems like less of a leaking hazard. If the cap falls off in my bag, which it always does, I'm not left with a puddle in my purse and half the bottle gone. So, all this to say, I'm pumped that Nosejoy included this product! It's alcohol-free and scented with essential oils. Its smell is distinctly lemony, but also light and not overwhelming. Into my purse it goes!
Mangiacotti works with the Pride organization to have people with disabilities finish their products. Additionally, the owner of Mangiacotti founded See the Good Project, which is a social movement to resist negativity and promote good.
Mangiacotti Jasmine Plum Hand Wash — Retail Value $15.00
I always like receiving products that lend themselves to everyday use! This hand soap is plant-based and infused with Vitamin E and essential oils. It doesn't say which oils, but the fragrance includes scents of jasmine, violets, juicy plum, subtle sandalwood, and musk. The "juicy plum" is what stands out the most to me—it's pretty fruity and rather feminine-smelling, but I don't think that really matters for handsoap.
Verdict: This was maybe my most exciting Nosejoy box yet! The theme was really stellar and well-executed. I was tickled by some new, unique products that I've never received in a box before, like the puddy and the hand sanitizer. And, as always, each and every item smells uh-mazing.
Whereas sometimes Nosejoy themes seem a little vague, this month's theme was specific, aspirational, and one I will definitely keep in mind as I use these products. I also appreciate that Nosejoy seemed to have listened to customer feedback about wishing the product spread had a little more variety. Value-wise, this month was stellar. The box costs $34.95 (with free shipping), and the contents of the box add up to about $53.

Value Breakdown: This month's items added up to $52.49, is awesome for a box costing $34.95 (including free shipping). You're paying approximately $8.74 per item, which strikes me as a better deal for some of the products included than for others. Here's approximately how the value breaks down for each individual product:
- Pinch Me Puddy: $16.64
- Bar Soap: $3.99
- Hand Sanitizer: $4.33
- Handsoap: $9.99
