Accio! April 2018 Review

The info card for this box is always an “issue” of the Daily Prophet, and it explains all the delights about to be discovered within! This month’s theme is “grab bag,” based on all the awesome items the good folks at Accio! get to see and to curate. Most excitingly, many of these items are exclusive to this box. Let’s go ahead and check things out, yes?

Hogwarts Alumni Travel Tumbler - Listed Value $14

I am always a big fan of drink vessels - I love coffee, tea, and water all throughout the day, so this alumni-printed tumbler will get a lot of use! I like the bold design, and the pamphlet mentions that the plastic is BPA-free. I really like the threaded top; I’ll be sure not to spill all over my computer if I decide to use it at the computer.

Stag Patronus Vinyl Sticker

Stag Patronus Vinyl Sticker - Listed Value $3

Speaking of my computer, how good would this look on my laptop’s cover? I really like the design on this; the way they’ve incorporated the spell’s incantation into the stag is so visually interesting. My personal patronus is actually a winged horse (thanks, Pottermore!) instead of a stag like Harry’s, but this is so cool-looking I may just have to put it on display.

Potterhead Pin - Listed Value $10

As the Prophet notes, collectible pins are having a major moment right now, and this one has such a nice mix of things going for it! This was the House item for this month’s box; each of these enamel accessories came in one of the House colors, based on your subscription preferences. This was designed in-house for Accio!

Helvetica Book Titles Premium Tee

Helvetica Book Titles Premium Tee - Listed Value $25

Not every Accio! Box comes with a tee inside, but when they are included, they’re some of my very favorite items! This is their premium tee, which is so, so soft, and I love the design of the keyword from every book’s title. I’m such a fan of this shirt in particular because it’s black, one of my favorite colors to wear. I plan to wear this all summer with denim shorts and some white flip-flops.

HP Tarot Sticker - Listed Value $4

I was really surprised to see a tarot item in this box, but I think it was one of the most interesting items that was included. This was an artist-created piece, and there were 13 possible designs that I could have received. This one is the World card, featuring the Hogwarts crest of Houses. The World card is a common tarot card and is typically considered the final card of the tarot’s Major Arcana, or main group. This card is interesting in particular because when pulled right side up, it often means a major, unstoppable change in one’s life. My husband and I just bought a house, so the design of this sticker really speaks to me on a personal level!

Verdict: I feel like I always fangirl over this box every month, but wow, they do such a good job with finding items that are both incredibly in-depth to the HP fandom and are also incredibly useful! I absolutely love the buttery-soft tee, that tumbler is going to get a ton of use, and the tarot sticker absolutely charmed my pants off.  Just like every month, I can’t WAIT for the next Accio! Box!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign-up today? No, boxes are currently sold out, so you may receive the June box next. Order before the 5th to get the current month's box.

2 stickers, a pin, t-shirt and dime a dozen water bottle for $50? Yeah, no.

I think this sub is really overpriced, it’s maybe a $30 w/ shipping box. Two stickers, a pin, water bottle(a dime a dozen in subs) and t-shirt that’s maybe $15, is not worth $50. Love the review though! I really like the pin.
