Enchanted Crystal: Crystal of the Month April 2018 Review
First, you'll see a greeting from Adam of Enchanted Crystal with an update on what he's been doing (he just got back from a month-long road trip through California and Oregon). He also mentions the included Palo Santo stick which is a first since I've been subscribing.
Next, there's an info sheet all about the featured Crystal of the Month: Celestite! Now let's see this gorgeous crystal!
Celestite Crystal
Gosh, it's just so beautiful, isn't it? I feel like I've said this before: but this has got to be the prettiest crystal I've received so far! It's also the biggest I've received from Enchanted Crystal at 2.5 inches wide and almost the same height. Unfortunately, it did get a little bashed up in transit. I think trying to stuff this into a bubble mailer wasn't the best move. It probably should have gone in a box to ship more safely. All in all- the damage wasn't really bad enough to sound any alarms. It just made for some extra crystal dust in the package.
Almost all blue celestite comes from the northwestern coastline of Madagascar which it is now famous for worldwide. This crystal came from a massive deposit that was formed nearly 65 MILLION years ago! That is SO WILD, right? Even though this area is the biggest exporter, all of the crystals are mined individually by locals in small hand-dug shafts.
I love looking at this pale blue crystal from all different angles. I currently have this sitting on my stark white desk at work and it just looks stunning. Looking over at it immediately makes me feel calm which is amazing because after reading up on it, I learned that it is supposed to have calming abilities and inspire relaxation while restoring joy. Heck yea!
Here you can see the bottom of the crystal where it's rough. You can see where some chipped off on the right side during transit.
I put it in my paw so you can see how large it is. Truly awesome!
As always, Adam includes some bonus minerals and min crystals in a little baggy. It's labeled with the stone names, but it's up to me to do some googling to figure out which is which.
Petalite
Petalite is a milky white to clear stone that can also be pink, greyish green or yellow. It's also known in the metaphysical world as an "angel stone" because it can enhance angelic or spiritual connections. It also protects from negativity and protects the holder from unwelcome forces.
Mystery Bonus Stone 1 (Petrified Wood or Red Jasper)
Ok, I'm embarrassed to admit, but I cannot tell the difference between this one and the next, so I'm not sure if it's petrified wood or red jasper! They look SO similar! This is the darker one of the two and has a rougher edge on one side. You can see several different layers that went into creating this specimen.
Mystery Bonus Stone 2 (Petrified Wood or Red Jasper)
This is the lighter colored one of the two but still has the same reddish, tan, and brown colorings. This one is also layered, but almost has a bit more "movement" to it, perhaps with just how it was cut.
Bonus Palo Santo Stick
As Adam mentioned in his letter, Palo Santo is considered a mystical wood by indigenous cultures in Central and South America. I've used this same wood as a smudge stick to cleanse my house and energy when I feel like I need to start fresh. It smells heavenly and has an almost minty scent to it. I'll be tucking this away for future use, perhaps in tandem with some lavender.
Verdict: This month's Crystal of the Month (Celestite) from Enchanted Crystal is definitely my favorite thus far! I am always drawn to blue, especially pale hues, so this one is immediately calming and makes me feel joy just by looking at it. I'm a little bummed that I can't differentiate two of the bonus stones, so my future wants would be for Enchanted Crystal to label them more clearly. Even though it's hard to value crystals since no two are alike, I looked on Etsy and found something similar to be in the $20+ range, so the cost is a great value in my eyes.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, but sign up today to receive May as your first delivery.
Sign up on or before the 5th of the month to get the current month’s box! All orders processed after the 5th will ship the following month. We ship between the 5th and 8th of each month.
Value Breakdown: For $16, I received four different stone or crystal types plus a stick of Palo Santo wood, which breaks down to $3.20 each. I would have been happy with the Celestite alone, so I'm very pleased.
