The only issue: Finding the right subscription can be difficult given the overwhelming number of options available online.

What Our Readers Say:
“We’ve been getting Kiwi Crate for 4 years now, first Koala Crate, then Kiwi Crate, and now my older kids get the Doodle Crate. Every single one has been fantastic!” – Meeks

About the Box: We’ve written extensively about KiwiCo’s engaging approach to crafting. They’re one of the best craft subscription boxes for inspiring young creators, and fortunately for us, they offer some excellent options for adults, too.

Doodle Crate is a monthly subscription geared toward ages 9-16+, but we’ve found that the projects are just as engaging for older artists. The high-quality materials are on par with what you’d find at a high-end art supply store, and the included inspiration sheets have detailed instructions for learning new techniques. You can also head online for video tutorials.

Recent kits provided materials and instructions for creating stained glass-inspired decorations, watercolor calendars, clay pencil holders, and masks. The Doodle Crate is most appropriate for new artists of all ages; KiwiCo also offers adult-friendly options like the Maker Crate (for crafting) and the Eureka Crate (for engineering and design).

I think I might get one of the bead subscriptions. I have tons, but it would be fun to get a little mystery box every month.

Andrea

I’m surprised that many of the comments on this just posted compilation are months or a year old … how come?

Mellissa

Basically they just update and repost a lot of these compilation posts.

Norelle

Hey, before suggesting Knitcrate, they’ve been having supply related issues this year so far, and have made some questionable business decisions – they cancelled one of their boxes recently and add-on discount purchases of the same yarn, and instead of offering refunds in accordance with the law, they are offering store credit. There are a couple ways this is screwing their customers, but it’s being widely discussed on Ravelry.

Katie Braxton

Don’t forget Brush Box! That’s one of my favorite new discoveries for painting. brushboxart.com if anyone wants to see.

Jenn

This is awesome!!! Thank you!

Adam

Ah this is such a good selection of craft subscriptions! I just started my eco craft subscription box, craftboxclub.co.uk last year so hope to make this like next time! Yay!

Stephanie Tsang

Christen Russo

Thank you for catching that, Stephanie, I just updated the post! <3

There a definitely some that didn’t make the list. Do you have another spot where you review Art boxes?

How about other boxes such as Kawaii boxes? I’ve subscribed to a couple different ones and can tell you there are differences.
