First Impressions

This month included an activity sheet and a welcome sheet introducing this month's contents. This month's activity is "Family Finger Puppets" and includes little finger puppets to cut out and decorate. It also has the lyrics to The Finger Family song, as if I needed any help remembering that catchy tune! Ronan has always loved this one, and we sing it all the time with different names for each verse.

What's Inside This Box

Brown Sugar Baby by Kevin Lewis - Retail Value $9.99

Oh, I just can't get over this adorable book. The illustrations match the words with cuteness, and I am in love with his little family. This book is about a mother's love and adoration for her baby. It is a book that I would absolutely buy if I saw it in the store.

Families Grow by Dan Saks  – Retail Value $7.99

This book is about how different families are formed. Whether it is a traditional family, an adoption, or through surrogacy, etc., a family is a family and they all start out with a wish. This adorable book looks into many different types of family situations and how they all begin, and it celebrates the love shares within each.

Discussion Questions

Little Feminist Book Club included discussion cards for each book. The messages this month revolve around love and how differently some families may begin and how they grow. One card talks about how it is important to share different family journeys with your kids, and the other describes different ways a mother shows love for their babies.

Verdict

Little Feminist Book Club had two adorable selections this month. Each book had adorable illustrations, and the messages in each book are important for a child to understand. A mother shows her love to her baby in so many different ways shown in Brown Sugar Baby, and Families Grow displays how different families begin and the love and care they show in each. The value of this month's picks comes to $16.98, not quite hitting the mark of the cost of this subscription.

After shipping, this subscription adds up to $25.90 a month; if you don't mind paying the price for excellent curation and content, then this subscription may be worth it to you. The subscription holds a value that doesn't always monetarily meet its cost, but I appreciate the service.

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.
