Little Feminist Overview

About the Brand

Little Feminist is a children’s book and activity subscription that focuses on diversity and gender equality, teaching 0-9 year old girls and boys (yes, boys can be feminists too!) empathy and perseverance. Books-of-the-month are selected by a team of educators, librarians, and parents, who then create a suite of hands-on activities to accompany each book. Whether it’s treasure hunts or DIY musical instruments, the goal of the included activities is to make the stories come alive for both children and families.

Little Feminist Book Club Ages 4-7 September 2021 Review + Coupon

This was our first Little Feminist Book Club and we were very pleased with it. I think this was the first book we read that involved death and my girl found that a little interesting. While her interests were more focused on the little details of the book, which there are many, I really enjoyed the way the story was told. I can’t say I would have thought to buy this book on my own, but if these are the type of books we will be receiving with this subscription, I will look forward to it. Time will still tell if this one has an impact on her, how often she’ll want to reread it, or if it will resinate at an older age. Whether the book is a hit or not, my son will also have a chance to read these books a few years from now. I like knowing we have some quality and purposeful books on our shelf for years to come.

Little Feminist Book Club Ages 0-2 September 2021 Review

Little Feminist Book Club has a knack for finding obscure and diverse reads. I love the books they chose this month; both of them feature a lot of illustrations of the outdoors which Ronan is completely obsessed with. He never wants to be indoors anymore, so maybe these books will hold him over when it starts getting chilly out (wishful thinking). I love the way Glow reads like a poem, and the illustrations in Raven Squawk, Orca Squeak are beautiful. Both books retail for under $10, but they were excellent finds for fall reading.

After shipping, this subscription adds up to $25.90 a month; if you’re someone who doesn’t mind paying a price for an excellent curation and content, then this subscription may be worth it to you. The subscription holds a value that doesn’t monetarily meet its cost, but I appreciate what they’re doing.
