First Impressions

This month included an activity sheet and a welcome sheet introducing this month's contents. This month's activity is "Independent Doers," which goes through the process of breaking down tasks into small steps to teach our babes to be more independent.

What's Inside This Box

Hey Baby! by Andrea Pippins – Retail Value $8.99

Ronan is obsessed with babies at the moment, so this book really came at the perfect time. By now, he knows all the words and can recite the entire book. For me, it is the doodles, which gave me a cool idea for a really creative baby book. Imagine a baby book like this with milestones listed in doodles; how cute is that?! The model baby in this book is absolutely precious, too.

My Heart Grows by Jeffrey Burton – Retail Value $8.39

This book is the kind of find that makes this subscription completely worth it. The illustrations are beyond adorable, and it has the perfect message for a boy about to be promoted to big brother. "Your heart grows but never alone, and once it starts to grow, it's more than just your own." This book is from a parent's perspective, whose heart grows with each waking moment of being the child's parent, and with each page you turn, the heart cut into the board book grows a little bigger. It is incredibly cute, and I love the sentiment behind it.

Discussion Questions

Little Feminist Book Club included discussion cards for each book. The messages this week are about daily routines and growth, both emotionally and physically.

Verdict

Little Feminist Book Club had excellent picks for this month. I felt like each landed at the perfect moment, and I am really impressed, especially, with My Heart Grows; it is definitely my new favorite! The value of this month's picks comes to $17.38, not quite hitting the mark of the cost of this subscription.

After shipping, this subscription adds up to $25.90 a month; if you're someone who doesn't mind paying a price for excellent curation and content, then this subscription may be worth it to you. The subscription holds a value that doesn't always monetarily meet its cost, but I appreciate the service.

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.
