DANESSA MYRICKS BEAUTY Twin Flames Multichrome Pigment in Passion – Retail Value $26.00

Okay, hello gorgeous. I am newly introduced to the Danessa Myricks brand (my first product from them came in my Beautylish 2021 Lucky Bag), and these liquid eyeshadows are STUNNING. They also seem to be a trendy makeup item -- I actually purchased a few similar eyeshadows from the Jason Wu launch before getting this box. This eyeshadow formula is thick but not goopy, and I’m able to get pretty close to opaque coverage if I layer the shadow twice and let it dry in between. The shade Passion is a watermelon pink and green pear duochrome, and I am dying for an excuse to wear this -- it’s such a fun color for spring.

DANESSA MYRICKS BEAUTY Twin Flames Multichrome Pigment in Young Love – Retail Value $26.00

This has the same mega sparkle because it’s the same formula, only the shade Young Love is a lilac and dusty pink with duochrome finish. The one thing I did notice with these shadows is they dry down a bit textured, so I had a hard time applying liquid eyeliner on top of the eyeshadow. Other than that, this shadow lasted without creasing on me.

Here is a shot of both of the eyeshadows with the flash on. I swoon over that sparkle when the light hits just right!

KVD Beauty Dazzle Stick Eyeshadow in Electro Surge, 0.12 oz - Retail Value $22.00

I absolutely love this eyeshadow-- it is a gorgeous glittery copper shade with a ton of shimmer. The formula is really creamy. I actually pressed too hard when I was swatching this on my arm and a little bit broke off (apply gently!). This didn't have a ton of staying power when I applied it directly to my eyelids, so I definitely recommend a primer with this one.

Here are the swatches! I wanted to really show how the Danessa Myricks shadows change color depending on how the light hits it, so I did two swipes of each color. The top two are Young Love, the middle two are Passion, and that last swatch is the KVD.

True Botanicals Chebula Active Immunity Serum, 1 oz – Retail Value $90.00

If you talk about a fancy skincare product my ears are going to immediately perk up. This serum features chevula, which is an ayurvedic and super-potent antioxidant. The formula also has green tea leaf extract, aloe vera leaf juice, distilled neroli, echinacea, and ginger root. I haven't noticed much of a difference since trying it out, but it also didn't irritate my skin so I count that as a win. Plus, a lot of the benefits of antioxidants is that they actually prevent damage from free radicals in the air, so even if they are working you won't see many noticeable results on your skin. This layered well with my multi-step skincare routine, and I am happy to continue using it.

OGX Beauty 5-in-1 Keratin Oil Smoothing Conditioner, 13 oz – Retail Value $4.99

I was pleasantly surprised by this conditioner-- it packs a hydrating punch on my dry curls. I didn't expect much from this, but I have actually been reaching for it pretty regularly when I take my showers. This is formulated with argan oil and keratin proteins, and it has been working really well for me in between deep conditioning treatments (and even performing better than some of the pricier conditioners I have access to).

OGX Beauty 5-in-1 Keratin Oil Smoothing Shampoo, 13 oz – Retail Value $5.79

This is formulated with the same keratin proteins and argan oil as the conditioner is, but it didn't work as well for my hair- it left my dry curls feeling very thirsty for a heavy conditioner. If you don't have temperamental curls, however, I still recommend giving this a shot if you are curious about the conditioner.

OGX Beauty 5-in-1 Keratin Oil Miracle Gloss Smoothing Spray, 6.8 oz - Retail Value $8.99

This spray has a whole host of benefits-- it fights frizz, adds shine, and protects against humidity while also adding strength to your hair. The spray has a light citrus scent that was pleasant and not too strong, and it can be used on wet or dry hair. Most of my styling products are added on damp hair because I like to air dry my curls to keep them healthy, and this did add some shine to my curls while taming the frizz a tad bit. Nothing except a Brazilian Blowout will ever smooth my curls completely, so a little frizz is just a part of my style now.

One Size Secure The Blur Makeup Magnet Primer, 1.2 oz – Retail Value $30.00

I haven't tried anything from this new brand from Patrick Starr, so I love that we got a full-size primer in this box. It promises a blurring effect, and it delivers. I only used it with light makeup so I can't tell how it would hold up over a long day with a full face of makeup, but it worked great with the regular concealer that I use to cover redness and dark circles.

One Size Ultimate Travel Blurring Setting Powder in Dark/Deep, 0.24 oz – Retail Value $16.00

One Size Ultimate Travel Blurring Setting Powder in Translucent, 0.24 oz – Retail Value $16.00

I love Patrick Starr for coming out with a setting powder that fits both lighter and deeper skin tones, and I love Trendmood for sending us both. Of course, the dark/deep version won't work for me, but them sending both is almost a guarantee one of the setting powders will work for you. I wasn't blown away by how this performed, but it definitely did the job. I would still reach for my Laura Mercier setting powder over this one, but I liked the soft matte finish this gave my skin without being drying.

Here I am wearing the primer, the setting powder in Translucent, and the Danessa Myricks eyeshadow in the shade Young Love.

Verdict:

Trendmood kills it each and every time they release a box, and Volume 10 was no exception. If you don't wear eyeshadow this box probably wasn't for you, but I personally love that I have three new unique shades to add to my collection that packs a strong, sparkly punch. For $44.00 I definitely feel like the value is there (everything in the box adds up t0 $245.77) and the entire experience just leaves me craving the next Trendmood release. Maybe that sounds too crazy, but I really just appreciate how this box always features new releases and cool products. I don't know when volume 11 will come out, but you can bet I am on the email list to get notified when it does.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you order today? No, this one has sold out.

Value Breakdown: At $44.00 for this box, here is what you are paying per item:

  • Danessa Myricks Passion: $4.69

So far the only Trendmood box I’ve gotten was the Nabla takeover box (which was fantastic), but I’m always excited to see new boxes from them. They’ve confirmed that their next box (volume 11, I assume) will feature the just-released Tatcha setting powder, so that has my interest piqued.

I have only ordered their Boscia takeover box. I am loving most of it. The foot mask did absolutely nothing for me, sadly. Its been 13 days an no peeling, at all. I will be watching for the details on the next one!

Thanks for the information! I was going to buy it when it was early access on Sephora, and it’s been an item sitting in my cart. Do you know when it will be released?

Charlotte

I don’t, but if you follow their Instagram (@trendmood.box), they should be posting more details soon-ish, including the release date.

Trendmood boxes are one of my favorites! I swore off eyeshadow and liner for life, but man Jessica, those Danessa Myricks eyeshadows look AMAZING on you! So much that I would start wearing shadow again if it were these 💕

Great review, Jessica! Sad I missed this one.

Um this isn’t the Boscia box which is listed at the beginning.

Sorry about that, the post has been updated. If you’re interested in reading the Trendmood x Boscia review that can be found here.

Maybe the review was edited already, but I don’t see anything about this being the Boscia box? The listed products at the beginning are correct.

The Boscia box was a must try, for me, personally. I love body serums, but I’ve started getting some patches of bumpy skin here and there on my arms, where I have never experienced in my life. I must be allergic to something in the serum.

Yeahp, it was edited

At the beginning it says cost $32 but verdict says $44 🤷‍♂️
