Follain Healthy Hydration March 2019 Review

Follain Healthy Hydration Box March 2019 - Follain Go Clean Pouch Front

Follain Go Clean Pouch – Retail Value $22

Everything came packaged up in the signature canvas pouch. To be honest, the price this pouch retails for blows my mind- but maybe it will have that value to you? I consider it as more of a bonus.

Follain Healthy Hydration Box March 2019 - Pai Camellia And Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser Tube Front Follain Healthy Hydration Box March 2019 - Pai Camellia And Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser Cloth Towel Top

Pai Camellia & Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser, 1 oz – Estimated Value $14.71 (buy the full-size version for $50)

I adore a good gentle cleanser, and this one checks all the boxes. It is made with camellia seed oil, shea butter, rose oil, and sweet almond oil. It cleansed without leaving my skin feeling tight, and the included muslin and terry cloth towel was perfect for gentle exfoliation while removing the cleanser.

Follain Healthy Hydration Box March 2019 - Herbivore Botanicals Rose Hibiscus Toner Front

Herbivore Botanicals Rose Hibiscus Toner, 2 oz – Retail Value $16

I love Herbivore - they do not use fillers as ingredients, making the likelihood of a product irritating your skin small. Plus, they have absolutely gorgeous packaging that I love to see on my vanity. The downside of not using any artificial fillers is that their products don’t have as long as a shelf life - so I was actually due for a new bottle of this toning mist when this kit arrived. Made with hibiscus flower extract, coconut water, aloe, and rose flower water, this is incredibly gentle to my skin while adding a soft boost of hydration and nourishment to my face. I like to layer this mist between my skincare steps to add extra moisture, and it also is a lovely pick-me-up at any time of the day.

Follain Healthy Hydration Box March 2019 - Indie Lee Squalane Oil Box Front Follain Healthy Hydration Box March 2019 - Indie Lee Squalane Oil Front

Indie Lee Squalane Oil, 0.34 oz – Retail Value $14

I have been wanting to try allllll of the Indie Lee lately, so I was stoked to see this full-size (the smaller one, but full-size all of the same! Squalane oil sounds very similar to squalene oil, but they are derived from different sources. Squalane comes from olives, squalene comes from shark liver. I am a big fan of the olive-derived oil, however, it is incredibly gentle and nourishing while being a lightweight oil that absorbs quickly into the skin with no greasy or oily residue left behind. If you’re not a believer in lightweight oils, try mixing this with your moisturizer for a massive hydration boost. I love how this leaves my skin feeling, and I will probably repurchase in the future (or maybe I will just grab another one of these kits!).

The Verdict: I loved this kit - two of the three products were full-size and came in beautiful packaging, and the Pai sample is a generous size at just under a third of the full-size bottle. I wish there wasn't such a high value attached to the bag this kit comes in, but the other products are true stars. Value-wise, I calculated a total value of $66.71 for everything and a value of $44.70 for the products alone. I recommend buying something else with this kit to get free shipping (or even buy two of these!), but even with the shipping cost I still think the kit is worth it because of the high-quality products inside that performed well.

To Wrap Up:

Can you get this box if you sign up today? Yes, as of publication, this kit is still available.

Value Breakdown: This kit cost $36.50 ($29 + $7.50 shipping), and I calculated a total value of $66.71. That means you are paying approximately the following per item:

  • Follain Bag: $12.04
  • Pai: $8.04
  • Herbivore: $8.75
  • Indie Lee: $7.66

Check out my other Follain review of the Clean Essentials Kit, also still available for purchase!

What do you think of the Follain Healthy Hydration kit? Are you going to grab one?

I wish they would get rid of the bags! I am interested in a few of the kits but don’t want to waste all the bags and you are basically paying just for the products and shipping once you take the bag away. If they are going to insist on the bag (instead of another product) it might be nice to include a coupon code towards the products! Thanks for the review! Great as always and now I know I don’t want squalEne!!

A coupon code is a great idea and would make this a worthwhile purchase for me. I already have that bag – I like it a lot but the price is high. I love that Pai cleanser and would recommend just buying the full size. The toner is nice but nothing exciting. Indie Lee is awesome but I wouldn’t consider that oil one of the brands superstars.
So, if this kit were $20-25 I’d more seriously consider it. Or, at this price, if it had a $10 promo code.
So looks like this kit isn’t for me but I do love Follain!
