  1. Will there be spoilers for the mens box please!

    • I’m waiting for a spoiler for the men’s box too! I bought both boxes already but I’d really like to know if my boyfriend is going to enjoy the box

  2. Really cute bag but not really my style. I like it a lot better than the Tribe Alive from RZ though. I doubt I’ll be buying this box. I really want a spoiler for the men’s box.

  3. I’m loving it! I’m going to put a black drawstring bag inside it so nothing can come out if the bag. I can easily sew it to bottom of bag. I like the leather!

  4. It looks like a smaller shopper tote. Good for my IPad, smaller notebook, papers, etc. , adjunct to a crossbody that usually holds next to nothing, just the basics.
Like it a lot. Shaping up to be an exciting box. Not just scarfs n hats.

  5. I want to love this bag, but after the BOS Tribe Alive looking great on paper and beyond cheap in person….

    • The BOS bag was an exclusive collaboration made just for that box. This bag is on sale at the Tribe Alive site, which makes me think it may be a better quality piece. (But I also didn’t think the BOS bag looked cheap. Shrugs)

      • I love the BOS Tribe alive bag.
i Used mine so much that the fabric is wearing- I wonder if i can hand dye it a dark color with some RIT… anyone ever try something like that before?
I dont want to submerge it in dye, so I dont dye the strap.. any suggestions:)?

        • Shoe polish?

  6. I am seeing this style of bag everywhere – including Ross. I love the design but theirs was very cheap looking without the handle grips being covered.

I love this one though. If it only had a shoulder strap I would bite. It look a lot more luxe than the ones I’ve been seeing.

I think I will wait and see what else is in the box before biting since I already have the Cluse watch.

  7. I wonder how hard it would be to add a magnetic close to it (maybe just gluing magnets to the inside)? I like the bag but I don’t like the idea of having it completely open.

The Christmas LE usually doesn’t sell out so I’ll wait to see what other goodies are in there.

  8. is the metal on the watch gold or rose gold?

    • Rose gold.

  9. I’m very excited that the bag is from tribe alive, a company that employees women in underdeveloped countries and pays them a fair wage.
I was on the fence of ordering this box, but after seeing this pretty bag, and the watch ( ordered the black to match) I’m thrilled. My mom always asks me what I want for Christmas- I will make it easy this year and just give her this box 🙂 easy peasy!

  10. Does the bag close? It looks that due to the handles it can’t really be hang on a chair and I’m having visions of it toppling and everything inside spilling out

  11. I love the watch but I don’t use leather products (not trying to be morally superior; in addition to not using leather from an animal rights standpoint, it just irritates my skin! And that’s honestly the bigger factor for me), plus the bag isn’t my style at all. If future spoilers are tempting enough, I may get the box and put those up for swap though! I’m really happy for anyone who’s excited about this box! I could definitely see these items being right up a lot of people’s alleys.

Considering I’m graduating college in December and heading out into the real world, I should probably invest in a watch that isn’t a Swatch and a work-appropriate handbag. These spoilers hit me with that realization full force and I wasn’t expecting it. Crap on a cracker.

    • I would do a box split with you if you’re interested! I want the bag but not the watch.

  12. It is not real leather, it does not have straps, it cannot be warn over shoulder, it is very simple basic bag – no, not my type of bag. Easy pass.

    • It is real leather.

    • Yes, it is leather, sorry, the word “vegetable” throw me off. After a little bit googling and educating myself, i can see that it is a real leather.

  13. I already bought the box as a Christmas present for myself and am so excited! I wasn’t sure about the watch but love the bag. Ok now I’m going to make myself not check anymore so I will be surprised for something this year.

    Thanks for the post.

  14. Well, now I’m torn! Don’t like (or need) that watch but I do like the bag.

What do do, what to do?

    • You swap for the bag…. 🙂

    • Check the forum. There are people looking to do a box split!

      • Thanks for he tip!!

  15. How do I pick between black or grey straps on the watch when I clearly need both!

And I love the purse. It’s simple and perfect for fall and winter and I can dress it up.

    • I chose the black, though I really like the grey. I read here on some thread that someones grey banded watch looked dirty after a little while. It had a stain she couldn’t get out. It stuck with me. I figured black was easier to keep clean. I’m like pigpen, messes just jump on me, I would never own a white/light piece of clothing, not even underwear.

      • I’m the same! Thank you for the advice. I love grey and I love how it looks on the watch, but it would be filthy in 2 days. Plus black goes with everything.

I thought I read that the straps are interchangeable but that might have been the RZ version of this watch

        • I believe the straps are interchangeable. The website has a bunch of different colors for each “model” of watch. I had a hard time choosing too but liked the look of the gray better so I just went with that one…assuming that if I had problems with it looking dirty I can just buy replacement black straps. 🙂

  16. Liz,
Was there ever a total box value given?

    • I would like this information also. How many items are usually in the Winter LE edition?

  17. That purse is adorable!! Oh no. Now I’m going to have to buy the box, aren’t I?! Hopefully I can swap the watch.

  18. I am in LOVE with this bag! But I’m afraid it might be too small for me.

@Liz – Would one of you lovely ladies be willing to be in a full body shot holding the bag??? That would help so much! 🙂

    • My thoughts exactly 🙂 Yes, Liz that would be so helpful!

    • Take a look on the popsugar Facebook or Instagram page. I belive the pic there may help a little. The picture that came in the spoiler email is even better.

    • If you click on the link Liz has for the Tribe Alive website it has a photo of a woman carrying the bag.

      • Good points, Carla and Zo! 🙂

  19. I will be listing the bag on the swap site.

  20. Ha! This is the perfect bag to use with the Fall LE poncho–no way the fringe will get stuck (unlike a shoulder bag). Very clever, Popsugar.

    • Damn Jessica, you’re right! I’m getting the black poncho in the Fall LE box so I’m in…..

    • I knew there was a reason I haven’t swapped away my poncho yet. 🙂

  21. There is no strap correct? Thanks! Would be a big decision maker for me with two small kids!

    • For me this bag is more a Girls Night Out or Date Night bag. I like straps and a closure for my everyday bags.

      • Lol I can’t stand bags that don’t have a strap. Who wants to carry a bag when they are out?? One drink too many and that bag would be gone. An open bag like this would also be begging to be pickpocketed…I prefer more practical bags although this one is cute.

FabFitFun had a very similar item in their previous add-ons that I think actually looked better quality than this one, but I didn’t purchase because it was open and didn’t have a strap!

        • Actually I purchased that FFF one for my daughter ($21) and it does have removable straps. Haven’t given it to her yet but will at Thanksgiving. It looks the same as this one other than not having the leather covering on the handles.

  22. Alright, they got me. Damn it, I’m now $108 poorer. Love the bag!

    • I am about 2 breaths away from ordering this too! I’ll be 108$ poorer as well, scoot over sista! 🙂

      • Come on over to the dark (poorer) side!

        • Poorer, but fashionable side ! 😉

  23. Very cute. If I was in need of another watch or bag, I’d be seriously tempted at this point. So far, very nice at the $100 price point.

  24. Everyone keeps mentioning the RZ watch as their reason for not getting this. It has a black face instead of white, so it’s completely different in my book. I’m getting both! 😂

  25. All this flesh leather. That is a big no for me. I’m vegan.

    • “Flesh” leather? Why do vegans try to use terms to somehow sound like they have the upper hand morally because they don’t eat or use animal products? Part of living in a dignified society is being respectful about other peoples’ life choices.
It is not the norm to see real leather products in sub boxes, and you have so many choices if you want a vegan bag. I also find it refreshing to see a bag that actually doesn’t have such an inflated retail value, cause let me tell you, companies aren’t providing “vegan leather”, because they want to please consumers; they are doing it first and foremost because fake leather is way cheaper for them. Seeing fake leather bags being flogged for $150-250++ is just ridiculous.

      • Over the top response to such a simple comment. How does the phrase “flesh leather” sound at all morally superior? Leather is made from the flesh of another animal. Shelly literally stated a fact. If that bothers you, perhaps your discomfort should be directed elsewhere.
“Part of living in a dignified society is being respectful about other peoples’ life choices.” – right back atcha Cat!

        • Leather is actually made of skin, not flesh, so “flesh leather” isn’t really a statement of fact. I took it for a rhetorical device myself.

          • I didn’t realize flesh and skin were not synonyms until now. Thanks for the correction Mary.

          • Agreed! There are many compelling arguments in favor of veganism, but this isn’t one of them. Just an ineffective rhetorical device.

          • I didn’t take this comment to be argument in favor of veganism. It’s Shelly’s reaction to the spoiler, not necessarily a persuasive speech.

        • It was a simple comment, but the phrasing was redundant. All leather is “flesh leather” – if it’s not a material made from the skin of an animal, only then does it need an adjective describing it – “fake leather” “vegan leather” “pleather,” etc. Since it was redundant phrasing, it came across as if she added the word flesh to emphasize and pass judgment on the fact that it’s real leather. Definitely within her rights, and what the comments section is for, but for that reason it didn’t come across to me as if the response was over the top.

          • It is what the comments section is for. If someone wrote, “That black purse is too dark for my wardrobe” their comment would also be redundant since something black is also inherently dark. But no one in their right mind would take it to mean the commenter intended to sound morally superior. The only reason anyone is replying to OP is to ridicule her diet.

      • I’ve never even heard the term ‘flesh leather’ and I live in LA haha

      • I was also happy to see it is real leather.

      • No one is impressed that you are vegan but thanks for trying to lay a guilt trip on those that aren’t. I love animals…they taste so good and make great handbags and shoes. “Flesh” leather? LOL

        • Those of you who see this comment as a personal attack and feel the need to defend yourself – maybe step back and ask why? Shelly’s very simple statement had nothing to do with you until you decided it did.

        • I know that there are tons of vegan lifestyle boxes so it maybe a good idea to look into those. I am happy to see a real leather bag offered here. Vegan leather tends to peel and stretch and does not withstand use like real leather does. I don’t see leather as being amoral – it is a byproduct of beef. All parts of the animal is used- nothing is wasted. So if someone chooses to use leather, we shouldn’t be considered amoral and people who do not like carrying something that is made of a living being has the right to not purchase.

    • I stand with you, Shelly!!!

    • Since veganism is very much a 1st-world phenomenon, it would be anathema to Tribe Alive’s mission as that is a luxury these working women can’t afford.

      • Are you seriously suggesting that Shelly’s veganism is offensive? This leather bag is, in and of itself a luxury these working women can’t afford. All the sub boxes we enjoy are 1st world phenomenons, and you are shaming Shelly for simply stating that she is vegan. Wow.

        • I’m not at all offended by her veganism. I live in a city where no one eats gluten, dairy, carbs, sugar, meat, soy and whatever else is the latest fad. I have zero problem with that! I think it’s the term flesh leather that she used, that people are reacting to. When you google that term, it’s pictures of human flesh jackets and handbags! I love animals but there’s a big difference between cowhide and a human flesh handbags! Just NO

          • B, I wasn’t asking you whether you find her veganism offensive. My question was of Eva, due to her use of the word “anathema.” It’s funny that she wants to lecture Shelly about luxuries in a thread about a leather purse and a Limited Edition subscription box.

        • stfne, you seem to be jumping to numerous conclusions all on your own. My reply (to the OP, who’s yet to follow up) was about craftsmanship and resources. No offense/shaming/lecturing intended. Thanks for playing.

          • Okay. I don’t see anything in your comment about craftsmanship. More simply, your statement might read, “Veganism is an anathema to Tribe Alive’s mission. Veganism is a luxury these working women cannot afford.” If you did not intend “veganism” to be the subject of your sentence, perhaps you might consider rephrasing.

        • You need to find a better use of your time, girl.

        • It sounds more like Eva is stating that Tribe Alive is a company that distributes hand-made artisan products created by people in less prosperous countries…. meaning the “luxury” of choosing whether or not to eat meat or use animal products such as the skin for leather (clothing or other) is not one that some of these communities can afford, as so many people need to not only raise their own food, but make the items we are so easily able to purchase whenever we want…. I think everyone needs to take a big breath and calm down. Flesh leather does sound gross though haha

    • I actually googled ‘flesh leather’ and I think you should start using a different term. I fully support your personal beliefs and desire to be vegan, but the flesh leather comment was over the top. It’s not at all the same as animal leather!

    • That’s great for you, but I’m thrilled to see actual leather for once. I dislike the gross, over price, vegan “leather”.

      • Yes, this! I’m sick of ‘vegan’ leather, just call it pleather like it is. No shame in not wanting to use actual leather. But adding vegan to it just makes the plastic/whatever it’s made of more expensive.

      • Same here Jennifer. I support everyone’s right to their own beliefs, but people are gonna eat cows anyway. Why waste the hide? I carry leather, and vegan leather is ridiculous sounding. Leather is animal…just saying.

  26. Wasn’t going to since I have an apple watch, but with this handbag is exactly my style and colors–will fit in like it was born here. 🙂 Ordered!

  27. I don’t need the watch since I wear an Apple watch but ugh I love this bag..

  28. Liz – Could you show us a shot of the bottom of the bag? And just to confirm, the bag is navy, correct? Thanks!

    • Never mind on the color question, the spoiler I received directly from PopSugar confirms the bag is black. Thanks!

    • I will get that photo for you and add it soon. And it is black – sorry for any confusion there!

  29. So excited. Been wanting a similar bag with brass handle. It’s minimalist and classy and it’s leather. Thank you for posting, Liz.

    • Sounds like this is the perfect back for you!! 🙂

  30. Ugh, the purse is cute!!! I told myself no after seeing the watch spoiler bc I have the RZ Cluse watch, plus I just majorly splurged & bought new dining room chairs & light fixture…..

  31. Liz, is this bag sturdy enough to really sit straight up like you have it posed in the photo? The leather looks soft, like the weight of the handles are about to cause it to fold over any second. It’s very very cute. I wish the top edge was more “finished” though. Thanks Liz!

    • Yes, it stands by itself. The leather isn’t super stiff, but it’s structured enough to stand up. Hope that helps! 🙂

(If it would be helpful to do an Instagram story video of the purse, let know!)

      • Thanks for responding so quickly! I appreciate your willingness and commitment to answering questions about the products. I don’t really use Instagram, but thanks for the offer! This is plenty helpful.

  32. Liz, is this bag navy or black? It looks black in these pictures, but the Tribe Alive link leads to a navy bag.

    • Whoops – sorry about that linking – it is black!

      • Thank you!

  33. Love this!!

  34. Whew, my money is safe. I have the RZ cluse watch and was thinking I’d bite if there were another great item because I do like the watch, but this bag is not my taste at all. I must be in the minority. So glad for all you who love it though! This was the first time I have held out on buying an LE box and I’m so glad I did, personally. Yay for self control! lol

  35. Ok. This makes me a bit more comfortable with my decision to jump on this box based just on the watch (I don’t already have one) and makes up for my disappointment with not liking the first two spoilers for the winter BOS (I don’t have pierced ears and prefer silver). My opinion may not be the most popular, but I’m liking this bag better than the clutch in BOS too…I think I would get alot more use out of this and feel more comfortable carrying it around. I’m not very fashion-forward anyways. Plus I love the mission behind Tribe Alive so I’m happy to give them more support!

    • Ditto on everything you just said. I bit the bullet and ordered… Happy Christmas to me 😀

    • I cancelled my BOS because it had another clutch, O don’t need a watch but I want this bag and am going to order this box now.

  36. Super cute little bag but I can’t imagine that I would ever use it. I tend to need my bags to have some sort of closure for fear of losing things. But props to PSMH for including (what appears to be) a well made *real leather* bag from a socially conscious brand. Now that I know for sure that the LE box isn’t for me I hope we’re going to see a spoiler or two for men’s box soon.

  37. Yes! I love this bag. I guess the watch wasn’t the hero item after all. I would pay $100 for both of these items together so anything else after this will be a bonus.
Hoping for a men’s spoiler next.

  38. So sweet! Glad I bought an extra box for my daughter, we are both going to love it!

    • Yay!! 🎉

  39. I love the bag! Does anyone think that a discount code will come out for the Winter Limited Edition? Or should I just get it now……

    • you never know with the LE boxes. The summer LE box came up at 50% off but no discount for the Fall LE box. Last winter the discount that came out was a free December monthly box but no $$ off. I don’t think they sell out so it probably won’t hurt to wait.

  40. Wow – these are lovely. I’ll be honest, I’ve never understood the mass appeal of Popsugar – even the LE boxes. But if this box and the October box are any indication of what will come in the future, I may seriously consider subscribing.

  41. I have the Tribe Alive bag from FFF and Rachel Zoe and no one seems to want them… including me. =/

    • I get it Julie – I gifted the Tribe Alive from RZ – it looked good on “paper” but the reality not so much – putting this one up for swap!! 🙂 …. but still happy with the watch – great Christmas present for my sis…

      • I’ve been racking my brain trying to find the right recipient but can’t swap and don’t know who to gift it to! I need to find a secret santa gig that isn’t on the site! I hope this one is an easy swap for you! Being from an LE box should make it a little harder to come by. =)

        • Julie – I was so nervous when my friend opened her bday present – she seemed to like it…..she is a beach girl and thought it would look cute in her basket when she rides her bike (hard to find the right person to gift TA to) 🙁 ….. as for this bag, it’s already swapped away – YAY!!!! (the RZ gold rings that were in the fall box … hoping they are a “good set” ) …. amazing what we can do on this site!!!

Thanks you Liz and team for all your efforts!!! 🙂

  42. I’m still waiting for a spoiler for the men’s box.

    • That should be this week! 🙂

      • Cant wait for the mens spolier!

      • Yay! I’m excited thanks! 🙂

    • I am also waiting. I ordered it already though.

  43. I swore I wasn’t going to bite but I love this. If it’s still available at the end of the week, I’ll probably cave.

  44. Finally, a spoiler I love! Looking forward to receiving this!

  45. Love tribe alive and love this spoiler! Cant wait!

  46. That is reallllllly cute. And a much better size than the satchel from last year.

  47. Not for me, I feel like it would hurt to carry if it was heavier.

  48. Love this!

  49. OK this made me bite. gorgeous!

  50. Finally a second spoiler! This is beautiful and classy but I wouldn’t want to hold it the whole time if there isn’t a shoulder strap. Looks like I’ll be passing on this box if the two hero items are a no go for me. Enjoy everyone who these items work for.
