I know a bunch of people were asking for the 1/2 off keurig codes. I will not be using mine so whoever sees this first is welcome to it 🙂

I am happy that I did not grab this box. I reallllllyyyyyyy wanted to! Niether hero item is for me.

I think the price on the placemats is fair. These are NM RVs, not TJ Maxx, but I think the jewlery item has a very inflated value. It is not like the designers other pieces, and seems to be inflated bc its an exclusive. I would think the $60 we would be paying was a bit high for this pieces if I saw them at the store- I would not have identified these as this designer AT ALL.

Idk maybe in person the jewelry looks better but to me it looks like something in my grandmother’s old costume jewelry.. that’s jut my opinion, not an insult to anyone. Not for me I guess if that’s the hero item I couldn’t even gift that. :/

Hey Liz,

Is the placemat smooth or can you feel the glitter? I know theres no top layer just really wondering how they sealed it on and if crumbs and things will make their home in it.

Wish they’d do the hero item. I’d bite to buy it now based on that or not. If I don’t know til it’s out, then I can’t decide yes or no by then. $250 is a lot to ask for a box these days.

The jewelry is cute and I might wear it or I’d gift it. The placemats I have age appropriate and non good use ideas for. But I could take or pass on the placemats. I suspect I’d wear the silver set (not together) once in awhile.

But I def wish they’d just give the largest item in box or full reveal.

I loved october’s box. It feels like it’s back to old popsugar prior to the big deal on Black Friday last year.

Kaleigh

In last year’s box they had two items worth about $200 each, so I would imagine that this year the jewelry set is most likely the hero item, but there could be another item worth close to that amount.

Reply ButtonReply

kiales

Yeah. This confirms that I absolutely do not want this box. $62 dollars for costume jewelry? Nope.

Reply ButtonReply

Marie

I agree with you. The retail price seems way over inflated. The jelwrey looks very flimsy and inexpensive.

I always think I will buy this box until I see the spoilers. I really dislike the jewelry. I had pieces like this in 2008 and I can’t imagine wearing them now. The place mats might be nice for holiday parties, but who want only 4 place mats. Ridiculous. For anyone to use them, you need at least 6, better 8.

Reply ButtonReply

Kiales

Right? Even if they were my style, what am I going to do with 4 place mats?

Reply ButtonReply

Daria

I think the box craze is going to fade at some point soon because the whole rv thing is totally ridiculous. Who cares if the rv for the box is 750.00 if part of that is a bunch of plastic placemats overpriced at a ludicrous 112.00? The jewelry is cute but overpriced. So – to each his own. I wait for spoilers and if I like them, regardless of stated rv, I buy the box. Boxes that make the most sense to me these days are the collectibles ones, like Pusheen, that mean a lot to the collector but little or nothing to the non-collector. I’ve given up most of my “lifestyle” boxes. I have enough useless junk lying around.

amyr

I agree. I do not even look at those retail values! They are beyond over inflated. Swarovski pearls run less than .20 each. Combine that with the fact these are only plated over brass – and Lisa Sugar and that Ken from dude thinks they can dupe us? No way!

There is nothing luxurious in the box as far as I can tell. And Neiman Marcus is no Bergdorf Goodman (who owns Neiman Marcus) or Barneys! NM is NOT a luxury store,!
I guess PS thinks they can fool an ignorant old woman from small town in Tennessee but they are wrong! I do know luxury and this is not it!

I can’t justify almost $300 for this box. I would have to see complete spoilers along with a discount before I would buy this!

Liz I apologize if you’ve answered this question a thousand times and I’m missed it but do you know what the metal posts are on the earrings and are they very heavy? Thanks in advance!

Question for people who get popsugar limited edition boxes…
They charged me for the fall box 16 days ago and never sent it. When I contacted them they finally shipped it. Are they usually this flakey?
Makes we not want to buy from them again if it’s going to be a hassle. The order email had zero info on when they would ship.

Reply ButtonReply

Judy

This happened to me. I ordered a box that was supposed to ship within a certain amount of days. I received the ship info but t was never actually shipped. When I finally contacted them weeks later, they shipped it and it started moving. I feel like when they do extra boxes outside their regular sub, it always creates a messy shipping situation.

Reply ButtonReply

Jennifer

Actually on the website when you ordered it, it said 7-10 business days. I woke up ready for a fight since today is day 11 for me, but the shipping notification appeared overnight. I never had this issue with the LE Boxes, but I’ve had to call CS a few times about my monthly box being ridiculously late. The response I always get is “oh it looks like it shipped out today.” Uh-huh. Sure. Then I get my shipping notice the next day.

Reply ButtonReply

Julie

Yeah, that’s exactly what happened to me. I tried to check the date on the website but since they had stopped selling it, it wasn’t there anymore.
16 days is ridiculous, they shouldn’t charge my card right away if they are going to do that. Thanks for responding!

Meg

I’m always curious about how PS decides what to spoil. These are both fine items that many people would be happy to receive but they’re definitely not exciting nor compelling me to take out my wallet. The BOS spoilers are always the hero item(s) which makes sense. Even the HRB spoiler today was a smart way of showing the direction of their Winter box. These NM spoilers are honestly just making me more ambivalent about the box. But maybe that’s just me.😬

As usual, retail “value” means absolutely nothing if the products are duds. When will these sub boxes learn that this tactic does not work on us sub addicts?!? lol

Hi Liz – is the glitter in the placemats laminated over? Or do these shed glitter?

The idea of having glitter anywhere near my food freaks me out – there is no chance eating tiny bits of metallic plastic pieces is good for you!

Thanks!

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

The glitter isn’t laminated over, but there is zero fall-out. I think it would be better to think of the “glitter” as confetti-sized pieces of plastic that are infused together. (Not sure if that makes much sense, but this placemat looks super sparkly and fun in person, without any of the fall-out issues that typical glitter products can have.)

Reply ButtonReply

Sarah

Thanks! Glitter freaks me out – weird phobia, I know.

Glad there isn’t fallout – most glitter is right up there with plastic microbeads from an environmental standpoint, as it doesn’t get filtered out in water treatment plants, doesn’t degrade in our lifetime and is a hazard to marine life.

Amy

Liz,

I appreciate all the effort you put into these posts to keep us up to date. Could you find out if the pearls are genuine or faux?

Thanks!

Swarovski pearls are manufactured with a crystal at the center. Here’s a link https://www.swarovski.com/Mob_US/en/faq

Kristen

I actually like the spoilers and would buy if I hadn’t been burned by PS selling LE boxes cheaper at a later date.

I hate ‘retail value’, it’s such a scam. That ‘value’, is what a retailer ‘may’ price an item at, or at what price the seller may want to get, but we all know, it doesn’t work like that. The placemats are cute and unique, but nobody would pay $112 for those, and I honestly could see those selling at like TJMaxx or Ross. That jewelry is costume jewelry, yeah, it looks decent enough, but seriously, it is not worth $195!!! It’s costume jewelry. Maybe some will love this box, but no way jose for me!!

Reply ButtonReply

mycatbutters

How is retail value a scam when that is the actual price Neiman Marcus will charge you to buy those place mats?

Everybody always wants to speak for everybody buy NM wouldn’t be in business if nobody wanted to pay $112 for four placemats.

Reply ButtonReply

Caroline

Value should be self determined by what you would be willing to spend on an item (its value to you). Took me a long time to recognize I’m not getting a deal for buying something at a discount that I wouldn’t have spent money on in the first place. It’s a temporary high and long term clutter. Buy it if you love it and value it – not because you think it’s a good deal.

Liz, do the placemats “shed” the glitter?

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

They do not! 🙂

Jeanette

I am so torn between silver or gold. They both look so pretty. It sounds crazy but I almost wish there was just one choice to help me decide. However, I am glad we have a choice because jewelry is so personal.

Reply ButtonReply

Cat

I’m not grabbing box, but my opinion if I saw them on someone: gold seems more classic, silver would fit someone who was a little more boho style wise with clothes. If you go for classic go gold, if you’re a little funky go for silver based on what they would look best with outside of just xmas.

Reply ButtonReply

CT

I usually don’t like jewellery from subs but the necklace and earrings are so pretty!

Reply ButtonReply

Jeannette

I’m so torn. I really love first 2 spoilers. But $250 is a lot of money for a box. I really want full spoilers before spending that kind of money.

Reply ButtonReply

stfne

Don’t they already tell you the box is over $750? I think that makes it safe to narrow the value down to $751-799. If it were over $800 they would say that instead. This spoiler was fairly predictable.

carey

This information is also for those folks who are doing a box split. 🙂

Thanks Liz!!

Would love to get a per item vs RV on the Luxor Holiday box too!! Hint hint…

Barbora

Well no one is forcing you to read it. Some people will appreciate that info.

Reply ButtonReply

stfne

Barbora, don’t read more into my comment than what I wrote. It’s not a complaint, simply an observation. I think it’s a pretty neutral statement and in no way insinuates the information should not be appreciated.

Liz Cadman

Yea, this wasn’t a big spoiler by any means, but several readers had asked me to verify the total retail value. Hope it helps some 🙂
