Each box comes with a card detailing the items included and it usually has tips on how to one or more of the items. This month had good information on the history of this type of duffel bag, as well as instructions on how to use it best.

TM1985 Military Duffel Bag – Value $165

The only item this month is this very nicely crafted duffel bag. Here is some information from TM1985’s site:

To make a history-rich duffel with all the right details, we teamed up with Bespoke Post,  a purveyor of themed boxes, choice goods, and stories to help you make the most of it all. Each bag is made in New Jersey out of heavyweight #8 / 18oz canvas that’s densely woven for durability and weather-resistance, and an even tougher tan Cordura for the base. You’ve also got a cotton webbing shoulder strap, an easily accessible outer pocket, extra-strong nylon stitching, and enough room for about 4 to 5 days worth of clothes, depending on how many bulky sweaters you’re bringing along.

The design is made for multiple carrying styles, so you can sling it on or across your back, over your shoulder with the strap like a regular duffel, or carry it at your side with the shorter handle.

This bag was designed to emulate the vintage military duffels from 1943.

It’s very versatile and includes a nice, big, pocket. It’s built to be carried in a number of different ways and the included info card helps depict how to use it.

100% Cotton Compressed Towels – Value ?

How cool are these? I didn’t think this type of thing existed. These small tablets are towels that expand with the addition of water!

Verdict: Bespoke Post is really good at curating unique, high value, usable items. In fact, I think they’re the best at it. While this is, essentially, a single item in the box, it’s also worth almost 4 times the cost of the box. I’m always impressed with the value and quality they deliver on a regular basis! Combine that with the ability to choose which box you want every month, and you have a big winner in my opinion!

What did you think of Bespoke Post ‘Standard Issue’?

  1. My husband almost returned this because he was a bit disappointed in only getting the ONE item, but it’s VERY high quality and it’s come in VERY handy for him so far.

  2. Any spoilers for January selections yet?

  3. Your review and that coupon code sealed the deal for me to finally subscribe to Bespoke Post….I used your link so please make sure you get credit….You deserve it for all the time and effort you put into your website….I am here everyday but just rarely comment—-Thank you for all the great information…..Stephanie O….(FIJIMOM)

  4. I bought a half dozen of those for all the hikers/travellers among me. They’re only around $5 for 6 tablets in a glass pill bottle (with directions written in a “prescription-style” font. Seems novel & handy…

  5. Having been in Europe for the past 12 days, where they don’t provide washcloths in the hotels…those ‘towels’ would have come in handy for sure!!!! I’ll have to look into those for my next trip.

  6. I chose this in blue for my brother for Xmas and I think it is beautiful. Keeping the hands towels for myself!

  7. That is a nice duffel bag! Those “towels” are a joke however. Try washcloth!

    • Those compressed cloths are actually a great thing to keep with first aid kits and hiking equipment. I have a few in my car first aid/survival kit.
