Hygge Box "Drift a Little Longer" Review
Last month, I finally got to try Hygge Box for the first time and loved the assortment of items I received. However, I'll admit that while it followed the "Quiet Place” theme, I thought that some of the items were a better fit than others.
Regardless, the overall value was nearly double the price of the monthly fee which made me eager to try it again. And I'm so glad I did!
This time around, I received home goods and treats that perfectly complemented the sunny central Florida summer. Here's what I received...
Sea Salt Soy Candle — $14
Just like the previous box, I received a 4 oz glass jar candle. But this time around, I got hooked on this candle's refreshing essence.
Unlike the previous candle that was a tad pungent after burning for a few minutes, this one maintained a consistent clean aroma that paired well with just about any room. So far, it's spent the most time in my downstairs guest bathroom that features other coastal decor, but I sometimes place it in my kitchen when cleaning up after cooking.
Sea-Inspired Turtle Towel — $42
This towel was quite sentimental to me. Let me explain:
A little over a decade ago, I lost my beloved swim coach and friend, Shawn Delifus, at the age of 30. It was incredibly devastating to the entire swimming community throughout Florida, but his legacy continued on at Loggerhead Aquatics and the surrounding teams he influenced throughout his career.
Fast forward to the day I opened this box (roughly a week ago), I just so happened to be in Ocala coaching at a state-level meet where I ended up running into my former Loggerhead teammates and fellow coaches. I couldn't help but appreciate this beautiful synchronicity, and seeing this towel throughout the whole weekend reminded me to treasure all the memories I had of my beloved incredible friend and mentor and to pass along his knowledge to the swimmers I coach.
Overall, I loved the light weight nature of the towel, and, funny enough, I placed it in that same bathroom where the candle resides to complete my coastal theme. (Talk about some wins from this box!)
Berry Herbal Iced Tea — $6
While I have a habit of gravitating toward caffeinated teas, this was so refreshing to savor after being out under the scorching sun. I was able to brew quite a few servings of tea from a single pouch and its flavor remained strong and tangy the whole way through.
While I didn't have any sweetener on me at the time, a dollop of honey would've paired perfectly (though I easily enjoyed it without). The cranberries, raspberries, elderberries, and hibiscus flowers packed the most punch from this herbal blend, while other ingredients like black currants and bilberries were a bit more subtle.
Sour Wild Strawberry Fish Candy — $9
At first I thought, "There's no way these could give Swedish Fish a run for their money," but I was totally wrong!
The consistency of these fish gummies was far more palatable than that of traditional Swedish Fish. You could enjoy eating smaller bites without having to chew down hard or ruin the sweet and sour dusting.
While I did save a few of these fish for my kids, I practically housed the entire bag upon opening.
Sea Cookie Cutters — $16
Funny, Hygge Box must have overheard me talking to my toddlers about how we needed to get some cookie cutters for the summer. My daughter, who's now 4, is simply fascinated with all things baking and literally leaped for joy when she opened these up (and she totally stole the bag from me too, which I can't blame her).
These cookie cutters worked incredibly well, though I'll admit that we actually used them for decorative PBs first prior to using them for their intended purpose. (My kiddos insisted!)
Final Thoughts
Once again, Hygge Box did not disappoint!
My favorite item, hands down, was the Sea-Inspired Turtle Towel in honor of my swim coach's legacy, whereas my kids were equally devoted to the Sour Wild Strawberry Fish Candy and Sea Cookie Cutters. Every single item fit the "Drift a Little Longer" theme perfectly, which I genuinely appreciated this time around.
