My First Hygge Box Review

This mom of two toddlers was beyond thrilled to unbox A Quiet Place, my first-ever Hygge Box. Considering our Florida summer days have already been packed with pool adventures and park explorations, I really needed to unwind (even if for a few brief moments).

After reading Christen's Hygge Box reviews from 2024, I knew I was in for a cozy treat. Would I too receive a decorative throw and handcrafted art? Or perhaps a comforting candle and cookie pairing?

It was time to find out!🥳

Hygge Haus Quiet Bloom Soy Candle — $16

What a beautiful candle to open up first during my unboxing experience. Its light and airy look was in stark contrast to its deep lavender, rosemary, and cedarwood aroma.

This candle would be ideal for a quick cleansing of a room or for an enchanting meditative session. However, given its potency, I wouldn't recommend letting it burn for more than 20 minutes at a time.

Eyes Eyes Baby Eye Cream — $45

This feels weird to admit, but this is the first eye cream I've ever owned! And I can officially say I'm hooked.

The last four years of raising kids and coaching swimming under the scorching sun have taken quite a toll on the skin around my eyes. Thankfully, this moisturizing cream comes packed with powerhouse ingredients like squalane, antioxidants, caffeine, and peptides.

Its organic aloe vera leaf juice and squalane replenished my dry skin, while the caffeine, organic green tea leaf extract, and organic gotu kola extract helped brighten and tighten the skin around my eyes after consistent use.

It's funny how subscription boxes introduce you to products you never knew you needed, but now can't live without.

FreshCut Paper Cherry Blossom Pop-Up Bouquet — $10

Ok, let me first say that I love the originality and aesthetic. What a cute way to show your appreciation to someone.

However, the card and bouquet were both a tad small for my liking. I had imagined that the bouquet would be about 3-4 times the size, but in reality, it fits roughly into the palm of your hand.

Personally, I’d pass on gifting this to an adult.

But as a fun little novelty gift for a kid? It's perfect (especially for my daughter who's turning 4 in a few weeks...)

Danica Heirloom Grove Appetizer Plate 7 inch — $8

I typically gravitate toward neutral colors when decorating, and really appreciate how versatile this porcelain plate is. I've loved the Mediterranean style aesthetic from a young age, but have come to appreciate it even more since marrying into a Sicilian family just shy of 7 years ago.

So far, I've used it for plating crackers with an assortment of cheeses and shortbread cookies to pair with coffee. But next time I'll probably use it for an arugula salad or a prosciutto with olives appetizer.

Think I can convince my husband to purchase the full set?😅

The Tea Heaven Moroccan Mint Green Tea Blend — $10

This summer, one of my goals is to swap my mid-afternoon cup of coffee for tea, and I think this one is the perfect starter. While the drained mom in me still craves caffeine around 3 PM, I know the version of me at 2 AM will appreciate the much-needed deep, undisturbed sleep.

And while I enjoyed drinking this tea both hot and iced, drinking it warm helped me savor the spearmint and peppermint significantly more and practice the art of slowing down.

Marquise de Sablé's Les Petits Sablés — $12

You know how I mentioned swapping coffee for tea? Well, that only applies to the afternoons.

I still rely on my morning cup of Joe to get me out of bed, and these shortbread cookies paired incredibly well with the espresso roast I'm currently drinking. While my coffee is dark and bold, these cookies provide balance with their delicate and buttery profile.

I don't usually eat anything when drinking my first cup of coffee, but maybe that's another change I need to make soon.

Value - Was This Box Worth It?

This month's Hygge Box has a total retail value of around $101. Considering that the Deluxe Hygge Box costs $64 for a month-to-month plan (or as low as $58 per month with an annual plan), I'd say this was a pretty solid deal.

My top 3 items in order of preference from this box were:

Next time, I'm hoping to collect some more home goods like the Hygge Haux Cozy Cuddle Throw Blanket from Christen's December 2024 review, the Now Designs by Danica Recycled Cotton Napkins from her September 2024 review, or even the Green Mist Divided Tray by Danica Heirloom from April 2024 box.

But for now? I'll soak up all the cozy goodness I received this time around.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Kind of. As an individual box it is still available in the shop at the time of publication. As a subscription, if you order by the last day of the month, your first box will be the next box, and your order will ship between the 15th-18th of the following month (unless sold out). Subsequent monthly boxes will also ship between the 15th and 18th.
