First Impressions

This month included an activity sheet and a welcome sheet introducing this month's contents. This month's activity is "Caring for my Stuffy." It goes through the steps to take for leading your babe to put his stuffy to bed. It's a cute activity that we do a few times a week when I feel like the kids are stalling before bed, and it seems to help us move bedtime along.

What's Inside This Box

Baby, Sleepy Baby by Atinuke & Angela Brooksbank – Retail Value $9.99

What a sweet book. It covers every aspect of bedtime, illustrating beautifully how cozy and cared for the baby will be as he snoozes the night away. I love the pictures in this book, and it was really nice to sit with Win and look at all the loving family portraits on each page. She was trying to say baby after I pointed him out on each page, which was pretty exciting for Roni and I to witness.

Mindful Tots: Tummy Ride by Whitney Stewart & Rocio Alejandro – Retail Value $7.99

This book highlights different ways to get your babe to slow down and be mindful of their breathing. Win copies everything I do, and when she sees me slow down and take a breath, she usually does the same. What a difference from her brother! She is definitely more mindful, while Ro loves to discover things for himself.

This book helps us to slow down, and it is rewarding to watch the kids working together,  counting, and breathing even though it usually ends up in raucous laughter.

Discussion Questions

Little Feminist Book Club includes discussion questions for each book every month. Each card follows the book's themes and provides questions to discuss with your little reader about their reading experience and other topics to consider. This month's topics are sleep and pause. The pause card suggests playing "freeze" with the kids, while the sleep card asks about aspects of sleep.

The Verdict

Little Feminist Book Club always provides us with books that help us slow down and appreciate all of the new phases and processes our babies go through. We all enjoyed both of the books sent this month, and I am hoping that we can carry on doing the breathing exercises along with the silliness that inevitably follows.

After shipping, this subscription adds up to $25.90 a month; if you don't mind paying the price for excellent curation and content, then this subscription may be worth your investment. The subscription holds a value that doesn't always monetarily meet its cost, but I appreciate the service.

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.
