First Impressions

This subscription comes packaged in a blue and white box, and when you open it you find the items thoughtfully tucked inside of sizzle and tissue paper and sealed with a sticker. You can really tell Bath Bevy pays attention to detail by how they pack their box. There is also an info sheet detailing the products included.

Bath Bevy "Let It Snow” January 2023 Review

Hot Cocoa Body Lotion - Retail Value $12

This sweet body lotion is scented with notes of milk chocolate and whipped cream. It has aloe, glycerin, and sunflower seed oil to hydrate your skin without leaving an oily finish, and I really like how this paired with the Marshmallows By The Fire scent that also came in this box- the two paired together just screamed "cozy vibes."

Mimosa Bath Bomb -  Retail Value $8

Mimosa to me isn't a scent that screams "snow" or "winter," but I am a firm believer that a mimosa is a year-round drink so it was still a welcome addition. As someone who loves orange juice I could definitely pick up the juicy citrus notes in this bath bomb, and while I wouldn't have been able to pick "champagne" out of a scent lineup you can definitely tell it's balanced to be not too sweet. I expected more orange color from this bath bomb than what I got, but it definitely brought the white fizzy bubbles.

Hot Toddy Bath Bomb - Retail Value $8

This hot toddy bath bomb has scent notes of bourbon, lemon, honey, and cinnamon, and they all blend together into this one warm, spicy fragrance that I found pleasant. When added to water it added a creamy yellow color along with some white bubbles, and it kind of reminded me of a melted creamsicle even though that wasn't what it smelled like.

Marshmallows By The Fire Bubble Bath, 9 oz - Retail Value $12

One of my favorite fragrances (both that I wear and I actually love on my fiancé) is Maison Margiela Replica By The Fireplace- and this is like a slightly toned down and a little more sweet version of that delicious scent! Warm toasted marshmallows, smoldering woods, and vanilla make up this warm and cozy scent, and I absolutely love it in bubble bath form- I'll take it in bath bomb and whipped soap form, too!

Lavender Pajamas Whipped Soap Scrub - Retail Value $15

Oh man does Bath Bevy know how to create a good lavender fragrance- more of this, please! Lavender pajamas has notes of lavender, white musk, warm woods, and vanilla sugar that all compliment the lovely lavender and give it depth. I just like holding my face up to this jar and breathing deep because it smells so calming and lovely. The scrubby granules in this scrub are gentle and not abrasive at all, so you could use this every day if you wanted to.

Frosted Winter Berry Whipped Soap - Retail Value $15

This whipped soap is everything you enjoy about soap scrub that frequently appears in the monthly boxes without anything to exfoliate with- just gentle, fluffy whipped soap. The frosted winter berry scent gives me spiced cranberry vibes, and I like that it fits with the cold weather theme without completely screaming "Christmas."

Value – Was This Box Worth It?

The Cost: $43.21 per month + $7.95 shipping.

Value Breakdown: Everything in this box is handmade by Bath Bevy. All of the prices add up to an estimated $70, which is more than the cost of the box plus shipping.

Key Takeaways

I thought this month's Bath Bevy box was another winner- we are starting 2023 off on the right foot! Getting both a whipped soap and a soap scrub definitely made this box feel like it had a higher value to me, and I especially loved the Marshmallows by the Fireside and Lavender Pajamas scents. Bath Bevy does a good job creating artisan products under their label, and I personally have never had any issues with their formulas.  If you don't take baths, don't let that deter you from subscribing- they also offer a "tubless" subscription offer (Check out the December Tubless review here!). This is the subscription for someone looking to add a little extra luxury to their monthly bath routine with the added bonus of being surprised by the products curated around a fun theme. If you're a fan of artisan bath products this is a subscription box worth checking out- in this new year you deserve a little extra self care.

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.
