Now, on to the items!

ÉN LOVE Knot Ever Moisture Love Detangler, 355 ml - Retail Value $9.99

Now, this product truly impressed me. I would consider myself a fairly skeptical person, so anything that claims to have detangling power, I usually assume will not be effective or will only work to a certain extent. I applied this product to my hair before combing, and as I was spreading it through my hair with my fingers, I could already feel my hair becoming less tangled. It was pretty impressive because I have a lot of hair that tends to get very tangled near the crown of my head. This product made combing out my hair a simple five-minute process instead of 20 minutes of frustration. The one thing I would say is that this product has a very strong, sweet, almost sugar cookie scent that reminds me of some of the hair and body care for young children. It smells kind of like a little girl’s magical unicorn perfume. I am pretty sensitive to smells, so it was a bit overwhelming for me. It did dissipate fairly quickly, leaving behind only a faint reminder of the scent, but I definitely think using this product to simplify my detangling process is worth the smell. Formulated with coconut oil, marula oil, honey, shea butter, and argan oil, this 100% sulfate and paraben-free detangler softens and hydrates hair while eliminating knots and tangles with ease.

EXSENS Crystal Body Oil in Tiger Macadamia, 100 ml - Retail Value $29.00

I love love, love body oils. I recently ran out of my usual body oil, so I’ve been using lotion instead. The problem is, I’ve yet to find a lotion that leaves my skin as smooth as body oil does, so this product came at exactly the right time, and I’m pumped. EXSENS’ Crystal Body Oil is an all-natural oil that can be used on both skin and hair, but I’ll likely use it on my skin only. My hair requires a bit heavier of an oil, rather than the lightweight formula this product has. That said, the lightweight formula is perfect because it absorbs quickly into my skin, leaving behind a smooth and soft feeling that isn’t greasy. What makes this oil especially unique is the fact that it includes mini Tiger Eye crystals. In case you’ve never heard of ‘Tiger Eye,’ this crystal is said to promote protection and be a barrier against negative energies, as well as promote balance and open the third chakra (solar plexus). To be perfectly honest, I’m not sure what I think about crystal energy and all that, but I am certainly happy about having another body oil to use.

IMBUE Coil Awakening Sulfate-Free Cream Cleanser, 400 ml - Retail Value $14.99

I’ve received the Imbue cream cleanser in a previous Cocotique box. It’s an ultra-hydrating cleanser that works into a rich lather to cleanse away impurities without leaving my hair feeling stripped or dry. It has a light fruity scent that isn’t too strong or overpowering. It’s lightweight, so it doesn’t leave my curls feeling heavy or weighed down. I was glad to see that this cleanser was included alongside the leave-in conditioner. I love when a subscription box includes products that go hand in hand, giving you a chance to try out the whole system.

IMBUE Coil Rejoicing Leave-in Conditioner, 400 ml - Retail Value $14.99

My hair has been very dry lately, so I was excited to see what moisturizing benefits this Imbue leave-in conditioner would have. After application, I found the product to be incredibly hydrating, and it left my hair feeling nice and soft and my curls defined. I really like that my curls didn’t feel heavy or weighed down, and there was no greasy or white residue left behind. I didn’t feel any product buildup, even after using this product a few days in a row, and I noticed an improvement in my frizz levels. This leave-in conditioner definitely worked well to eliminate frizz. The scent is light, non-intrusive, and very similar (if not exactly the same) as the cleanser. I also really appreciate the size of the cream cleanser and leave-in conditioner duo.

NEUTROGENA Invisible Daily Defense Sunscreen Lotion SPF 60+, 88 ml - Retail Value $17.49

I really enjoy the texture of this sunscreen. It’s not thick and globby like traditional sunscreens; in fact, I would call it thin. It’s easy to apply and spread over my face and body, and I really love how it’s super lightweight and doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy. True to its name, it is invisible. It absorbs quickly into the skin, leaving behind no trace or white residue. The scent is very light, and there is not an overpowering sunscreen smell. Honestly, I can’t even tell I’m wearing it when I’m wearing it. It’s a broad spectrum SPF 60+ and is water-resistant for up to 80 minutes.

Verdict

I thought this was a really great Cocotique box. I was incredibly impressed with the Én Love detangler. It did a wonderful job detangling and hydrating my hair. The EXSENS crystal body oil was perfectly lightweight, and I enjoyed how soft and hydrated it left my skin. The curation of the Imbue cream cleanser went hand in hand with the leave-in conditioner. I was happy that the cleanser didn’t leave my hair feeling dry or stripped, and I loved how lightweight and bouncy the leave-in conditioner left my curls. Lastly, the Neutrogena invisible sunscreen was so lightweight for a sunscreen. I like how it protects my skin from the sun without a horrendously strong sunscreen scent or leaving a white tint on my skin. Overall, I think this was a solid Cocotique box. The value was there, and the product curation was varied and included things I use in my everyday life.
