First Impressions

My first impression of this subscription is always, “Wow, I really love how sturdy and reusable the box is.” I was a little bummed because it didn’t feel too Christmasy, but everything was packaged beautifully.

What's Inside the Box

Starskin Gold Eye Mask, 1 pair - Retail Value $7.45

I really love eye masks, in general, because I’m a night owl who is forced to rise like an early bird in the morning. So, I’m always looking for a way to combat the dark circles or bags that tend to pop up under my eyes. What I really enjoyed about this particular eye mask is that the patches stayed put under my eyes, and I didn’t have to worry about them slipping off as I got ready in the morning. I popped the mask into the fridge for a few minutes before application, and it felt absolutely wonderful and refreshing. I noticed a visible difference in the puffiness under my eyes right after use, and I felt a little bit more awake and alert after using the chilled patches. My under-eyes felt firm and hydrated after application.

GLOV Satin Sleeping Mask, 1 piece - Retail Value $6.07

I’m a very light sleeper and the slightest hint of early morning sun will wake me up, so I do sleep with a sleep mask quite often. I found that the elastic band on this satin mask felt very secure and yet very comfortable. It didn’t get tangled in my hair, and the mask didn’t droop down or slide off throughout the night. The mask felt soft and silky against my eyes and wasn’t pressing down too tightly against my lashes. It blocks out light very well, and I didn’t find that it made me feel hot or sweaty. I’ll definitely be using this on a regular basis.

Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cleanser, 30 ml - Retail Value $16.00

One of my favorite things to try is a new cleanser. I feel like mixing it up helps my skin. That could be scientifically factual or just something I made up in my head. But any time I use the same cleanser too long, I end up with a breakout. I really enjoyed how lightweight this gel-type cleanser was. It left my face feeling and looking refreshed. It easily removed all the oils and impurities on my skin, leaving it feeling squeaky clean but not too dry. I also enjoy the beachy scent of the product. It was pleasant but subtle and not at all overpowering. I do think that this cleanser could be a bit drying for people who might not have oily skin like mine, but for me, this face wash was luxurious, ultra cleansing, and delightful to use.

Lottie London Ombré Blush in Haze, 2.5 g - Estimated Retail Value $4.93

I really like the shade of this blush. It’s a pinkish coral that works nicely with my skin tone. The formula of this blush is lightweight and smooth. It applies easily, blends well, and is buildable. I was impressed with the size of the sample. I will definitely get more than a few uses out of this blush, and it’s also the perfect size for travel. The texture is soft and almost creamy, with a very slight shimmer that creates a beautiful, healthy flush and light sheen on my face. This blush is perfect for a natural everyday look and has long-lasting wear.

Eyeko Spotlight Highlighter Pencil in Pearl, 1.4 g - Retail Value $18.00

I have to be honest, I’ve never used a highlighter pencil before, so I actually had to look up some of the uses for this product before trying it out. I attempted three things: I applied a bit of highlight to my brow, I applied to my waterline as an eyeliner, and I applied a bit above my non-existent cupid’s bow. The product applied easily and was smooth, almost creamy, and easy to blend with just the tip of my finger. I think I like the highlight under the brow option the best. It made my eyes and face look more alive and bright. I wasn’t a fan of the highlighter in my waterline for an everyday look, but maybe if I were ever to get a bit more glam, it would definitely be a dramatic pop for my eyes. It above the cupid’s bow didn’t work for me because I don’t really have a cupid’s bow... It just ended up looking like I had a little sweat above my lip.

HOLLYWOOD BROWZER Hollywood Browzer Single, 1 piece - Retail Value $12.95

I know this sounds weird, but I love to shave my face with one of these little razors any time I’m putting on a full, heavy face of makeup. Not only does it remove unwanted peach fuzz and exfoliate skin, but also, it makes my makeup easier to apply and look so much smoother. What I really appreciated about this Browzer is how the top folds over, covering the razor when it’s not in use. This is perfect for travel and can be taken through airport security. Even though I have very sensitive skin, I didn’t experience any redness, irritation, or razor burn. My face felt smooth and soft after use, and my complexion looked brighter. I used to think that shaving would make hair grow back darker and thicker; I’m so happy that isn’t the case, or I would look like a wookie right now.

Verdict

I really enjoyed all of the items in this month’s LookFantastic box. I did wish that it was a bit more Christmasy, but I found every product to be high quality and useful to me. I really enjoy the GLOV sleeping mask. I like how the satin prevents the elastic band from getting tangled in my hair and how soft it feels against my face. The Hollywood Browzer is perfect for removing pesky peach fuzz and exfoliating my skin. I also really like that it is travel-safe. The skincare in this box was also great. I was a huge fan of how the Starskin eye masks stayed put on my face and didn’t slip or slide while I was getting ready in the morning, and the gel-like texture of the Elemis cleanser offered a luxurious cleansing experience. A new product for me was the highlighter pencil from Eyeko. I like how precisely I can apply the product under my brows with the pointed tip. The Lottie London blush was a great shade for my skin and also very convenient for travel. Overall, I think this was a great box. I love how there was a lifestyle product and a beauty tool included, as well as skincare and makeup. The diversity of the curation really made this box a win for me, and the value was definitely there.

I received my box around the 16th, that is a bit later than usual. I live in Colorado USA and have never had a difficult time receiving them on time, usually around the 9-11th of each month.

Great review Naomi! I agree, I did expect more of a Christmassy theme, yet loved every single product. This is by far my favorite monthly box to receive.

Boxes arrive after literally begging that they send the prepaid box. This is at fourth time the subscription box has not shipped this year. December is no exception. This subscription box was to arrive no later than December 20, 2021 and today is December 31. I’ve contacted the company three times regarding this delivery that appears to have been waiting to ship from the UK for most of this month.

I hate that you’re going through this, but I’m glad it isn’t just me. It seems they only shipped out the PR boxes for December. They created shipping labels on December 14th but don’t appear to have actually sent these out..

Did anyone who isn’t getting this box free as PR receive their box? I can’t find anyone who has received their December box yet, I’m getting a bit concerned since it’s now the 30th..

I did get my box. It came late as in first week of January. I called on the 4th of January which is the they tell you to call if you didn’t get your box. I really don’t have problems with customer service. I either email or chat rather than call because then I have it in writing. I did get my December box and got the replacement as well. They tend to run slow in Nov and Dec on shipping and another has to do with the shipping service itself. Im on my 4th or 5th year and I do love them. I prefer the skin care heavy boxes and this is one. I end up buying full size products of the samples when I can find them. I got the This works compilation with a coupon and I love everything that came with I. Especially that hand creme.

Just wanted to say that I really love your pictures, Naomi. I’m not sure what happened to Andy, but I love your backgrounds and the little details you add to your photos (digging the cute mistletoes!)
While this particular box doesn’t scream Christmas, I can appreciate the red box and gold colored products. Little details like that just make the whole subscription experience that much more special.
