Welcome to our monthly post highlighting our favorite discoveries from a variety of books, beauty, food subscriptions – and more. Here are our favorite subscription box items from September 2021:

Lindsey's Favorite:

The Item: 2020 Prismus® Pinot Grigio

The Cost: $17.99 (Member Price: $15.99)

From: Winc

Why I love it: I’ve been subscribing to Winc for years now, and I’ve tried a lot of different wines over that time. I’m happy to share that after this month’s shipment, Prismus Pinot Grigio has firmly secured a spot in my Winc hall of fame. It all comes down to taste. The flavor is delicate and nuanced with subtle citrus notes and a clean minerality. I got a little bit of green apple, lemon, and lime in every sip, and it was just super tasty and delicious. If I could only drink one white wine for the rest of my life, I wouldn’t be sad if it was this one.

Sanna's Favorite:

Image via Freshly.

The Item: Freshly Ancient Grain Chicken Pilaf

The Cost: $9.99 per meal on the 6 meals per week plan

From: Freshly

ACTIVE DEAL: Use code LAUNCH15 to get $60 off your first four meals
CODE: LAUNCH15

Why I love it: Before I became a mom, it seemed like I had all the time in the world to look up recipes, shop for ingredients, then prep and cook dinner. Now, I don’t even have time for shoelaces. No, seriously, I turned all my laced shoes int0 slip-ons. So, the convenience, ease, and peace of mind that there will be something to eat that Freshly brings is a godsend right now. Would I be using this service if I still had time to cook? Probably not. But it’s amazing for what it is and I really would be struggling without it right now. The Ancient Grain Chicken Pilaf has been my favorite so far but there have been other surprise hits.

Sanna subscribes to Freshly on her own, but you can find more info on our Freshly details page. Read more reviews by Sanna!

Naomi's 2 Favorites:

Pattern of Compact Tote for Brown Sugar Box September 2021

The Item: Izzy & Liv “Throw It In The Bag” Versatile & Compact Tote

The Cost: $15

From: Brown Sugar Box

ACTIVE DEAL: Save 20% off your first box!
CODE: FIRSTTIME20

Why I love it: I am astounded by how compact this bag gets and how much you can fit in it when it’s open. It is the convenient essential that I had no idea I needed. I keep it in the center console of my car for all my emergency bag needs (I have more than you might think). Since it’s water-repellant and surprisingly sturdy, it can be used for almost anything… My dirty flip-flops after a beach day or the soda cans rolling around my trunk after their box broke. I just keep finding more and more uses for it.

Front of Four Sigmatic Mushroom Cacao Mix with Reishi for GlossyBox September 2021

The Item: Four Sigmatic Hot Cacao with Reishi

The Cost:$16

From: GlossyBox

Why I love it: It is delicious! I am always a huge skeptic when it comes to ‘healthy’ junk foods. If you tell me that something is low sugar, has no artificial flavors or dyes, no dairy, and is good for me, I’m like, “It’s kale… You’re talking about kale.” And let’s be honest, it is hard work to make kale taste good. But this was so chocolatey, creamy, and delicious. Of course, I used two packets for one cup of cacao (I have a problem) because I love chocolate!

Christen's Favorite:

The Item: Rain Torch

The Cost: $69.99 (currently sold out)

From: BREO BOX

Why I love it: This is just such a clever, useful gadget. It’s an umbrella with a rotating handle that has a flashlight at the end of it. It’s fun to use, works well, and is one of those “why didn’t I think of that?” types of items that are useful for every day.

Becca's Favorite:

The Item: WoodWick Candle

The Cost: $3.00

From: Walmart Beauty Box Fall 2021 Limited Edition Mindful Box

Why I love it: I am obsessed with WoodWick Candles and this tiny glass version was not only darling but one of my favorite scents: Fireside. The taupe color matches any decor and the light smoky/autumny/crispy aroma is not overpowering but fills the air with a cozy scent that my husband actually enjoys. Also, it has an actual wood wick and crackles while burning, like a campfire - how awesome is that?!

Jessica's Favorite:

green tube of cleanser next to white and silver box

The Item: Babor Cleanformance Clay Multi-Cleanser

The Cost: $24.95

From: Skinstore x Babor Limited Edition Box

Why I love it: I genuinely cannot tell you the last time a cleanser left this much of a lasting impression on me. I didn’t think this was going to do much for me because my dry skin leaves me wary of clay-based products, but somehow Babor created a clay cleanser/mask that isn’t drying on my skin. You can apply this and immediately wash it off like a cleanser, or leave it on for a little while like a mask. My preferred way to use it has been to apply it right when I get into the shower as a mask and then rinse it off as the last step before my shower is over. This has made a noticeable difference in the acne appearing on my skin, without drying me out. I don’t know what sorcery is in this green tube of goodness, but I am obsessed.

Samantha's Favorite:

The Item: FRYE Bamboo Boot Sock - 2 Pack

The Cost: $24

From: FabFitFun

Why I love it: This was my first FabFitFun box - I finally succumbed and signed up - it did not disappoint! I didn't expect to love these rather basic socks as much as I do, but they are my new favorites (so much that I'm doing laundry more often to keep them in rotation!). They are so soft and cozy (even after multiple washes) - the unexpected MVP of the FFF box for me, and the perfect fall staple.

The Cost: $10

From: Quirky Crate

Why I love it: I am obsessed with this retro pin! I love everything about it, and I’ll be sporting it all spooky season!

Hi there, I'm Christen. I am all sorts of things:

🌳 a writer who loves to convey feeling

🌲 a mother who wants to have just as much fun as my kids do

🌳 an outdoors-lover who's achieved #1000hoursoutside with my family

🌲 a low-maintenance self-carer

🌳 a general hungry person with an unstoppable sweet tooth

You'll find me collecting stationery and squirreling away stickers, riding bikes and swimming with my family, creating outfits in colors and silhouettes that make me feel amazing, wearing big earrings, drinking beer and asking my husband to feed me harmonies to sing, taking my vitamins, living for dancing to live music, roping everyone into a craft, being human and vulnerable, and celebrating the phenomenon of being alive.

...and doing it all with energy, delight, and jokes along the way.
