Quirky Crate showcases one item from a featured artist or brand each month. This month features Anastasia Mazeina, a Russian illustrator and graphic designer.  This info card gives you some insight into her background as well as some social media info.

On the flip side of the card, Quirky Crate includes an itemized list of each product and its value. This month's theme is "Bored to Death," featuring spooky, funky accessories and flair.

Time to get quirky!

Coffin Purse - Listed Value $40

This bag is so fun! It took some time to mold into shape from shipping, but it looks great now after getting all of the creases out. Every detail of this bag speaks to me--the little doodles, the spooky coffin shape, and the humor behind "Bored to Death"; I love it all. Equipped with two zippers, this bag opens up on three sides, giving you the ultimate spacious purse experience. This will make a perfect Halloween clutch, and I am so glad Quirky Crate sends their spooky finds in their fall box so we have all season to sport our finds.

Bat Sunnies - Listed Value $16

Where have these bad boys been all my life? I feel like I should be banging on some bongos inside a coffee shop spouting goth poetry while the audience snaps their fingers. While I think this look is hilarious and I feel pretty cool wearing these, they'll probably just be reserved for spooky season.

And if someone gets a pair of these and doesn't like the look, they could absolutely use them as a weapon. The edges are sharp!

Scary Movies Enamel Pin - Listed Value $10

I live for this retro pin. The eerie font and old school Pept0-tinted tv with the rabbit ears, it all slays. Scary movies are my absolute favorite, and I love cheesy horror films just as much as the new thrillers that scare the pants off of me. This pin has some bulk, but with two pin-backs, you can count on it staying right in place. Love!

Skull Scarf - Listed Value $18

Not that I am ready for cold weather, but this knit scarf reminded me of how cozy sweater weather can be. It is soft and long enough to wrap around my neck twice if I need the warmth. I really like the skull design, even though each one looks a little emo.

If I had one complaint about this item, it would be that it smells like a warehouse. I'm not sure how to wash this yet, but I think I will hang it outside tomorrow to see if it dissipates.

Magic Palm Socks - Listed Price $8

In true QC fashion, these socks rock. I love how comfortably these novelty socks fit. The mysterious magic palm print is fun for spooky season, but I'd sport these any time of the year. The material is medium thick and is a mid-calf length, at least for me.

Halloween Cat Sticker - Listed Price $8

black cat sticker with holographic background

I am quite the sticker hoarder, but I've found a lot of joy in snail mail, especially this year. I plan on sending this beauty to my bestie inside of a spooky card for Halloween. She has a black cat and a penchant for holo.

Spooky Ghost Jewelry Set - Listed Price $15

double layer necklace with ghost and spooky charms, ghost huggie earrings

I absolutely love this set! Huggies are my favorite style of earrings to wear, and the ghosts are the perfect size. I'm not sure what kind of metal is used in this jewelry, but my ears do not have any metal sensitivities.

This is going to be my go-to from now until November! I am really impressed with how this jewelry fits and functions, especially the earrings.

The Verdict

September's Quirky Crate is everything and more! I have very high expectations for the Spooky September box, and they seem to nail it every year. I am obsessed with my new huggie earrings, purse, and pin especially. I can't wait to wear all of my flair; it makes me feel good, and it always serves as a conversation starter. I can't tell you how many people I've referred to QC just from sporting their pins alone. The total value of this box adds up to $110, over double the $36.95 + $8.50 shipping subscription cost.

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.

The ghost jewelry is so cute!

For musty smelling clothes, spritz with vodka (the cheap stuff is fine) and hang it out in the sun. It works amazing on thrift store clothes or used clothes that smell like smoke. The vodka smell dissipates.

I love how the scarf looks against the orange top!

Love the cat sticker, sunglasses, and especially that ghost jewelry! So cute!

You could try soaking the scarf in vinegar and then air-drying it in the sun! The vinegar smell will go ahead, hopefully taking the warehouse smell with it.

This was a great box. That coffin purse is adorable. I would maybe toss the scarf in a low dryer with a couple dryer sheets? I use the lavender Mrs Myers kind, maybe it’ll take the factory funk out.

The sunshine worked a little magic, but I’ll definitely try this trick next. Thanks! 🙂
