First Impressions

The box comes with a short but informative booklet that outlines all of the items inside and discloses the theme. This month's theme is "Cosmic Inspiration". I'm expecting items that incorporate moon art and I'm sure some astrology will be thrown in the mix. Let's take a look!

What's Inside This Box

Blue Tiger's Eye

Our first item in this month's box is a blue tiger's eye stone. This stone is used as a source of protection, power, and perseverance. This is my first time owning a blue tiger eye and I plan to use this during meditation and reflection. My hope is that this stone will allow me to remain grounded with my mind clear, protecting me from any doubtful and negative thoughts.

Cosmic Body Tooth & Gum Elixir, 55.5 g – Estimated Value $6.81

This product is really fascinating. This tooth & gum elixir is an all-natural mouthwash alternative and includes rosemary and peppermint oils, cinnamon, and clove. I used this for oil pulling and swished around in my mouth for a few minutes before spitting out and brushing my teeth. You can also use this product as a toothpaste alternative. I think this product would be great to keep at work as an after-lunch refresh! This item includes a 20% off coupon to be used at Cosmic Body.

The Quirky Cup Collective Cosmic Bookmark– Retail Value $9.50

My dog has torn up a number of bookmarks of mine. He's always fine after, he just loves to tear up the paper. Anyway, needless to say, bookmarks are a perfect gift for me because I am always needing to replenish my stash and I read a lot! This bookmark is so pretty. I love the blue, purple, and gold tones and the cosmic design. I've already placed it in the next book I am going to read. This bookmark includes a 15% off coupon to be used at The Quirky Cup Collective.

The Gut Lab Cosmic Cacao, 3 oz– Estimated Value $10.66

I wasn't sure how I was going to take to this product. I love cacao but generally only when it's sweetened. But then I remembered, duh! I'm making the item, I can add sweetener to the drink. I prepared this as the instructions suggested. I tried the mix without the sweetener and it was a tad bitter. I added some sugar and it was still pretty bitter. I'm going to leave this cacao on the shelf for now. A 20% off coupon was included to be used at The Gut Lab.

Zodiac Oracle Pack – Retail Value $9.00

This zodiac oracle pack is a part of Goddess Provisions limited edition trading cards. This specific zodiac pack encourages you to draw upon universal energies, draw a card, and see what zodiac sign can help with whatever your current situation is. I'm an Aries and pulled a Scorpio card. What sign did you pull?

Cosmic Messages Journal – Retail Value $15.00

This cosmic journal is cute. I dig the pink and black design on the front and back, and the cover feels really smooth. This is a perfect way to keep track of cosmic inspiration, write thoughts post-meditation, whatever you'd like! I plan to use my journal for post-yoga and meditation thoughts.

Zodiac Wall Hanging – Retail Value $22.00

Our last item in this month's Cosmic Inspiration box is this beautiful zodiac hanging. It can make a great addition to your sacred space. I would love a full-length wall version of this hanging, as this hanging is pretty small. I'm still figuring out where to exactly place this. I thought of hanging it, but also think it could look nice draped over a table in my altar space. It's nice to have options 🙂

Verdict

The items in this month's Goddess Provisions box were cute and on theme, I just wasn't exactly impressed. I would have loved to see more quirky and unique items such as the vital smile product. This elixir was pretty cool as I've never used a mouthwash alternative before.

I used to subscribe to this and keep wondering if I should subscribe again. This box certainly isn’t inspiring me to resubscribe…I feel like it was much better before they started mostly using their own-branded items. I’m sure it’s cheaper, but I’d rather pay more and get better-quality and more unique stuff.

I’m really not the target audience for this box because I don’t believe that crystals have powers and that the moon controls anything about our lives, but I started subbing about 2 years ago, and this quickly became one of my favorite boxes, largely because it had unique items and a variety of items, including chocolate, skin care, candles, etc. And I like the monthly crystals even though I don’t ascribe any special meaning to them. However, the last few months I have really lost interest. Now it is really only geared towards people who have altars and burn incense and charge their crystals and believe in the Zodiac- things like that. I haven’t canceled yet due to FOMO, but $33 a month is kind of steep if you are only getting 1 or 2 items each month that you actually like and can use.

Agree 100%, Melissa! I’ve gotten this box 2 or 3 times because I find rocks/crystals beautiful and love anything with a moon or zodiac motif, but only for the aesthetics. I definitely feel the subscription has gotten a lot more “witchy” in the past year or so, and that’s just not me. The tarot cards/oracle decks, altar stuff, etc. have no use for me at all. But what I have been doing is keeping an eye on spoilers/reviews, and then later snagging stuff in their shop. They will occasionally have a sale, or I’ll just choose to treat myself on something I really love (the moon phases teacup comes to mind).

I agree with you Jill. I seemed to enjoy this subscription more when they sourced their products from smaller businesses. Granted they haven’t increased their subscription price in years, so they are probably trying to find ways to keep costs down, but again it takes away some of the uniqueness from the box.
