Vine Oh! "Oh! La! La!” Winter 2021 Review

There is a card for each item, as well as an overview card with total box value enclosed in the Oh! envelope.

Now onto the items. Let's start with some wine!

The wines included in the box are custom made for Vine Oh! so if you like a bottle and want more, you can usually find them available for purchase in the Vine Oh! wine shop. You have the option of either two sweets, two whites, two reds, or a mix. I selected the “mix” and received a red and a rosé. Yum!

2018 New Crush California Pinot Noir – Retail Value $24.00

New Crush Pinot Noir wine has aromas of with lychee, cranberry, kola, raspberry, red cherries abounding hints of cinnamon and clove, wildflower honey, and cacao. Flavors of red fruits including pomegranate are accented by wisps of cedar and a hint of leather. This wine has a bright, food-friendly profile.

I tend to reach for a cab if I'm having a red, but this Pinot was downright juicy! The fruit here was super strong and those notes of berries and cherries are totally the biggest takeaway here, though this wine wasn't sweet in the least. This was also a super easy to drink wine (Will and I tried it over a steak dinner), and the bottle didn't last long. Will isn't even a wine sort of guy but he remarked about how he understood why red wines go with steak after this bottle.

2018 Speechless California Chardonnay – Retail Value $24.00

Speechless chardonnay delivers aromas of Golden Delicious apples, Meyer lemon zest, and pineapple with hints of vanilla, crème brûlée, brioche and honey. Flavors range from peach to starfruit and sweet cream butter, with a rich mid-palate texture and a bright finish of grapefruit and green apple.

Will liked this wine less, but, baby steps! I tend to enjoy a Chardonnay and this one is very light and bright, with citrus notes and a slightly sweet vibe. I didn't notice anything creamy or buttery, but the tartness of the finish here probably cut through those notes. I liked this wine both room temperature and cold, and, as unglamorous as this sounds, it went really well with my leftover pizza a few nights ago!

Zaxie Gold Disc Necklace – Listed Value $28.00

I quite like this simple little necklace with just a hint of sparkle. Minimal + gold is very much my jewelry vibe lately and I even really like the looks of the ball chain. The tiny little crystal is just a little extra, though you could probably remove it if you prefer a more minimal take. You could even slide a few of your own charms on to personalize it. Though my skin is acidic and anything that isn't actual gold or silver eventually tarnishes, the plating on this seems pretty solid, so I hope to at least get a year's worth of wear before my skin destroys it.

Very cute with some spring daisies.

Kenra Professional Platinum Air Dry Crème 6, 5 fl oz - Retail Value $22.00

If I reach for a hair creme, it is most likely going to be from OUAI, one of my favorite brands. But I like this stuff enough to cheat a little! It smells more warm and summery, and has a similar effect on my hair. I like to use formulas like this on dry hair to smooth frizz, kill static, and add shine. Just a little in my palm then combed through my strands is enough. This one boasts the ability to cut down dry time by over 50%, so I did end up trying it on freshly showered and towel-dried hair. I am no good at math and percentages, but my hair totally air-dried faster and my waves looked great! While this isn't going to replace my beloved OAUI products (their scent is swoon-worthy) it has earned a spot in my vanity for sure.

Aqua de Soi 'Enjou Melon' Candle, size unknown – Listed Value $20.00

I am guessing this candle is around 8 oz, but I didn't see any official markings on it. Though this scent is a melon sort of fragrance, it smelled more like pears and tart apples to me. Totally a summery vibe, but not as tropical as I was expecting. It isn't a scent that I feel I would have picked, but we were finally able to crack the windows here in Pennsylvania recently on a rare 60 degree February day, and the combo of crisp air and the fruitiness of this candle was actually really wonderful. It also has quite a lot of scent throw and I didn't have any icky tunneling issues.

Wine Is My True Love 5X7 Box Sign - Retail Value $9.99

This is maybe the only item this month that I flat out disliked, but that is because I just don't love word art in general. And, well, cheese is my true love. I can totally see regifting this to a wine lover in my life though!

Moonstruck Chocolate Dark Chocolate Almond Bar, 85 g - Retail Value $4.00

My final treat was chocolate, something you will never catch me complaining about! This was a dark bar filled with almond bits and sea salt. A sweet + salty combo is always going to be my favorite, and I am not ashamed at all to report that I devoured this one solo.

The Verdict: This Vine Oh! box was really cute and filled with items that I enjoyed. Other than the sign, everything inside was a hit for me, and totally either drinkable, edible, wearable, or just plain enjoyable. This continues to be a great box for a wine lover who likes surprises, and the mix of booze and lifestyle items feels fun and would make an excellent gift for someone else (or yourself!!).

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes! You'll start with the Winter 2021 box as your first, but quantities are limited!

Value Breakdown: At $59.99 for this box, each of the 7 items has an average cost of $8.57.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I agree about the sign, lol. Everything else about this box feels very Luxe. There’s no crazy, over-the-top wow factor with this box, but it’s so consistently good, it doesn’t necessarily need that OTT factor.

(Side note: Moonstruck’s hot cocoa mix is very good!)

I have been enjoying my box. I got a plain milk chocolate flavor bar. Funny for me as I adore dark chocolate. My wines are awesome and someday I will wear the necklace.

This was a fun box. The necklace, I love!!! The hair product and the candle tied for second place. The chocolate is long gone. I’m an online student at USC, and got the “fight on” sign, which is their slogan, so that felt very special to me. The wine is always good. I just switched from red and white to all reds, they seem to do better, for me, with their red wines. Love this subscription!

The daisy shirt and necklace look really cute together! I am definitely not a “word art” person myself lol. I am totally jealous of your 60 degree day. I think we hit 50 recently and believe me people were out wearing t-shirts and shorts like it was 80 🌞
