Look Fantastic October 2020 Review
Included was a nice booklet with loads of info on our products this month.
GLOV Hair Wrap – Retail Value $14.99
I already have a couple of these handy wraps but since I use them every time I shower, another is a good thing because it means I can launder the other two less often. This wrap is designed to go on your head after a shower and it helps cut your hair drying time way down. I like to air dry my hair (I don’t even own a hairdryer) so in the winter especially, the faster my hair dries, the better! This is a cushy white towel sort of material that does a great job! I put mine on by flipping over and wrapping my hair while I am upside down. Then I simply fasten the elastic around the button and ta-da!
Ecooking Overnight Foot Cream, 30 mL – Estimated Value $11.40 (Buy a full-size 100 mL for $38.00)
I don’t understand why foot creams always have to smell like something I would use to clear my nose in the winter. I really just don’t like that super-strong menthol scent. Maybe I want my feet to smell like flowers! Anyways, if you like foot creams and mint, this will be a real treat for you. I recommend applying it before bed in a thick layer then sleeping with socks on. It does help add a lot of moisture!
By Terry Baume De Rose Flaconnette Liquid Lip Balm, 2.3 g – Retail Value $19.00
I am kind of obsessed with this balm. It feels SO good on my lips and smells like roses. The creamy formula features shea butter, rose wax, and vitamin E. It made my lips feel truly incredible.
Starskin Smoothing Bio-Cellulose Second Skin Eye Catcher Mask, 1 pair – Estimated Value $5.00 (Buy 2 pairs for $10.00)
FYI: Subscribers will receive Starskin Smoothing Bio-Cellulose Second Skin Eye Catcher Mask OR Beauty Pro Eye Therapy Under Eye Mask.
I very much enjoy a good eye mask, and STARSKIN makes a good one for sure! These thin masks are made of a bio-cellulose material that feels like a second skin. They are securely sandwiched between fiber layers to keep them safe until you use them. Back when I used to fly a lot (those were the days) I would always stash a pair of eye masks in my purse to use on the plane, especially on late-night flights. They just add a wonderful level of hydration and radiance to skin that looks dull and dry even without external factors negatively affecting things! These were super hydrating and calming, and there was tons of leftover serum for rubbing into my face.
Balance Me Bakuchiol Serum, 7 mL – Retail Value $16.00
Bakuchiol is a plant-based retinol alternative that is a wonderful addition to your skincare routine if you are concerned about aging but maybe find retinol too irritating or expensive. One of its biggest benefits is that it helps ramp up collagen production in skin, meaning you have more firmness and better texture over time. This formula also boasts hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, shea, and ceramides. I liked the texture and it only took a pea-sized amount to get coverage. I will admit that I found the sharper citrus scent a little too strong to make this a favorite or repurchase.
Bubblet Earl Grey Bath Tea, 100 g – Retail Value $8.00
My final item is a little pouch of bath salts. Earl Grey tea is my absolute favorite, so I was slightly disappointed that this doesn’t really smell like this blend of tea. It was much more of a sweet citrus without the earthy tea element. I still found it pretty pleasant and it made for a fun (and slightly purple!) soak.
The Verdict: This month’s Look Fantastic Beauty Box had a value of around $74.39. When I initially looked over this assortment I wasn’t that excited, but this is one of those curations that sneaks up on you because so much of it is useful. I am pleased to have another hair wrap, loved the lip balm, and very much enjoyed the eye mask, serum, and bath soak. I could have done without the foot cream, but I may be in the minority here since I really don’t enjoy menthol.
