Ipsy is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. Each month you get 5 full-size or deluxe-sized products, plus a cute makeup bag.

This is one of Liz’s top recommendations if you are looking for a subscription box - the value and sample sizes are amazing. (Check out our list of the best beauty boxes for 2020 and our reviews of Cheap Subscription Boxes for more recommendations!)

(FYI – Just like Birchbox, Ipsy sends out many different variations of their bag each month – so my review is just one of the bag variations you might receive!)

My Ipsy Glam Bag November 2020 Review

Card Open for Ipsy Glam Bag November 2020

Included is a card that usually details each of the items but also outlines beauty tips and tricks.

Each month, Ipsy subscribers get a makeup bag in addition to their items. This month's theme is "Be Present." The design of this bag gives me real fall vibes. I'm pretty sure I had suede patchwork boots in these colors back in high school, lol.

111SKIN Y Theorem Day Cream NAC Y², 15 mL - Estimated Value $63.00 (Buy a full-size 50 mL for $210.00)

I love 111Skin. It is one of the most serious skincare lines I've ever tried. You legitimately see results with each and every one of their products. This 111Skin Theorem Day Cream NAC Y² does not disappoint. A super feather-light moisturizer that immediately absorbs into my skin and leaves my face feeling hydrated all day long. Theorem revolutionizes day cream with a formula infused with potent anti-aging ingredients, hyaluronic acid, protective vitamins, and antioxidants, as well as skin-plumping humectants. Every time I use this day cream, my skin is left feeling nice and soft with a revived elasticity and bounce. With such a high price point for the full size, I'm thrilled to receive a substantial sample in my Ipsy bag.

BOBBI BROWN COSMETICS Vitamin Enriched Face Base, 7 mL - Estimated Value $8.68 (Buy a full-size 50 mL for $62.00)

Bobbi Brown Cosmetics' Vitamin Enriched Face Base applies like butter... Smooth, creamy, and moisturizing. With a light, refreshing citrus smell, this primer multitasks to prep your face for makeup while delivering instant hydration for a cushy but non-greasy feel. This primer doesn't feel heavy on my skin and really helped to even out my skin tone and texture before applying cover-up or foundation. Infused with Vitamins B, C, and E and shea butter, this product nourishes, repairs, and protects skin from environmental aggressors, including pollution and blue light. Since I started working from home, I've been in front of many screens, Zooming, FaceTiming, scanning through spreadsheets, etc., and I never realized how blue light can be damaging to my skin. So, a product that specifically protects against it is highly intriguing to me.

CONTEXT SKIN Matte Lipstick in Sweet Emotion, 2.4 g - Estimated Value $14.12 (Buy a full-size 3.4 g for $20.00)

I really enjoyed how Context Skin's Matte Lipstick in Sweet Emotion applied so smooth and creamy to my lips. It was an incredibly long-lasting full coverage pigment that didn't suck the moisture out of my lips or dry them out like an old raisin. I really liked this shade. It's almost like a nude with a hint of dark red, definitely embracing a deep mauve-like color. The shade is very neutral and would flatter many skin tones and outfits. The formula is very nice and creamy, infused with vitamins, antioxidants, and botanical oils to leave your lips feeling supple and moisturized underneath the velvety matte finish.

AVETTE Fresh Clean Coconut Mild Foam Cleanser, 15 ml - Estimated Value $1.20 (Buy a full-size 150 mL for $12.00)

Avette's Fresh Clean Coconut Mild Foam Cleanser is perfect for my sensitive skin. It has a gentle foaming formula that dissolves makeup and removes dirt and oils, leaving behind clean, shiny skin without causing excessive dryness or stripping. It has a light and pleasant fruity scent that makes you feel like you're in the tropics and has a non-drying, low pH formula. I love how clean and soft this cleanser makes my face feel and how nicely it lathers up. A little goes a long way with this foam. It seems to double when you add water. With this sample size, I'll definitely be able to try the product for several days.

EYEKO Rock Out and Lash Out Mascara in Carbon Black, 2 ml - Estimated Value $6.00 (Buy a full-size 8 ml for $24.00)

I love the Eyeko brand mascaras. This Eyeko Rock Out and Lash Out Mascara in 'Carbon Black' truly gives you a dramatic look. The product lengthens, volumizes, and lifts lashes without smudging or smearing. The wand is designed with a curved brush head for major lift and curl upon application. The 'Carbon Black' is incredibly pigmented for definition that lasts, and the mascara is formulated with keratin for strengthening and shea butter to moisturize and condition. I like the dark dramatic color the shade 'Carbon Black' gives and I did not notice any clumping or flaking, even after hours of wear.

Here is what the Eyeko Rock Out and Lash Out Mascara in Carbon Black looks like on.

Verdict: I think this month's Ipsy Glam Bag had a great value and a good mixture of makeup and skincare. I'm incredibly thrilled to have received the 111Skin Theorem Day Cream NAC Y². As a brand, 111Skin is high-end and always delivers quality products. I love the inclusion of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics and the Vitamin Enriched Face Base, especially since it specifically protects against blue light. The Eyeko Rock Out and Lash Out Mascara in 'Carbon Black' is a solid mascara that I always like to have around as a main staple of my makeup routine. I also really enjoyed the Context Skin Matte Lipstick in Sweet Emotion. It has a lovely neutral shade, perfect for daily use, and a super creamy formula that applies nice and smooth. The Avette Fresh Clean Coconut Mild Cleanser has a great light tropical scent and a gentle foaming formula that truly cleans every last trace of makeup, dirt, or oil from your pores. This month had an AMAZING value estimated at $93. That is incredible for a $12 subscription! You absolutely do get your money's worth based on retail value, and the products were all from high-quality and luxury brands.

I received the same bag. I really hated the scent of the cleanser. I like the Bobbi Brown a lot though.

I got the Bobbi Brown face base as well, and look forward to trying it. I also got the Context lipstick which was a repeat for me, but I’m ok with that. It’s a very pretty shade. I’d note it can tend to sieze up and get less creamy if it’s been cold. If it does that, I just warm it up a little or swatch it to warm against my skin and then apply.

Ok. Number 1. You do NOT look old enough to have boots like that lol WOW. So much envy right now 🤩. Number 2. I never would have thought that lipstick would look so perfect by seeing it in the tube. Now I wish I stayed with ipsy so I could have got that color. It’s perfect. Overall a great looking bag and I’m kicking myself right now.
