Let's dive in!
Fitglow Beauty Good Lash + Mascara, 8 g - Full Size! Retail Value $38.00
Every month I am left in awe of the sheen number of black mascara tubes that I receive. It's wild, y'all. I have a hard time comparing this particular one too much because it's one of my mom's favorites. I think she loves the heavy metal tube and how the formula adds just enough volume and length without looking like it's trying too hard. I will personally vouch for this being a delightful gentle mascara too, so if you have sensitive eyes, this might be a great tube to try. It also lasts a really long time without flaking or looking tired. I see my mom again in October and while I usually mail her boxes of products I think she might like, I will hang onto this one and give it to her in person.
KVoss Bronzing Potion Glow Cream, 10 mL - Full Size! Retail Value $20.00
Bronzer is such a tricky thing when your foundation shade is usually one of the palest on the spectrum. I also tend to be pretty red, so even lighter ones can just look yellow on my skin. As usual with bronzers, I was skeptical of this one and was prepared to drop it in my gifting box. Again, whenever I think I know what's up, I am often wrong. This is a really sheer "bronzer" that reminds me of some sort of highlighter-bronzer hybrid. It is also buildable, meaning I can totally get away with using this on my cheeks for a little fake sun. Also worth mentioning is that this tube feels super tiny for a full-size item. But a little goes a long way, so I expect this to last way beyond the warm summer sun.
I really like the luminosity here, too!
Leahlani Bless Beauty Balm, 7 mL - Estimated Value $12.60 (Buy a full-size 30 mL for $54.00)
As soon as I opened this month's box I smelled the most delightful floral scent and quickly had to figure out where it was coming from. This is such a dreamy floral scent! I would wear it as a perfume. The biggest note is pure neroli with a little bit of blue tansy. Delightful. The balm itself is super nourishing too, and perfect for those pesky dry spots I always get around my nostrils, eyebrows, and on the edges of my hairline. The mix of all things nourishing (shea, cocoa butter, argan oil, jojoba, and more!) is a prayer answered for dry skin. Simply scrape a little from the pot and the warmth from your fingers melts it into a soft serum-like liquid that is a pure dream to put onto your skin.
Honua Skincare Pa'akai Cleansing Cream, 1 fl oz - Estimated Value $10.50 (Buy a full-size 4 fl oz for $42.00)
This might be an unpopular opinion, but as much as I like this cleanser, I have always thought it smelled a little odd. Maybe the pretty pink color is throwing off my scent expectations? Who knows. Scent isn't everything (as much as I prioritize it personally) and this is a great cleanser. The first time I sampled it I was worried the Hawaiian salt inside might be stripping for my dry face, but it was quite the opposite. I found this stuff to be pretty balancing and refreshing. This formula has seaweed inside which is generally a guarantee that my skin will appreciate it. The combo of seaweed, salt, and rose water creates an experience that is very spa-on-the-ocean. Happy to see this sample is a nice size, too!
Juice Beauty GREEN APPLE Peel Sensitive Exfoliating Mask, 0.5 fl oz - Estimated Value $12.00 (Buy 2 fl oz for $48.00)
Juice Beauty is a brand I don't enjoy. This isn't from it being a brand that doesn't make nice things, but more so that I have yet to use anything from them (aside from a liquid lipstick that was great!) that doesn't feel designed for normal or oily skin. My dry skin just isn't right for most of this brand's formulas. I am always tempted by a peel though. And this is a brand that loves to utilize fresh fruit acids. This peel contains two of my favorite AHAs: glycolic acid and lactic acid. And though I find many Juice Beauty products to be drying, I already knew what to expect from a peel. I will admit that I liked this 10-minute formula. It made my skin tingle just a little (which is normal) and did improve the smoothness of my skin after a single use. Is it my favorite peel? No. Am I still wildly skeptical about this brand? Yeah. But this was a winner in our rather rocky relationship.
Lavido Thera Intensive Foot Cream, 30 mL - Retail Value $7.00 (currently on sale for $5.00)
I have a super hard time getting excited about foot creams. They never seem to really do much for me or my dry feet. This is probably because mine are too far gone for anything but Baby Foot Peel to fix. This one sure does smell nice though! I think I might hang onto it to use immediately after my favorite (and gross) foot peel.
Moon Rivers Naturals Peppermint Lava Salt Hand + Body Soap, 2 fl oz - Estimated Value $12.00 (Buy a full-size 8 fl oz for $5.00)
My last item was a glass bottle of black colored soap with a peppermint scent. I really like liquid body soaps though I will say Will doesn't seem to grasp that you don't need much of them to lather yourself. This guy pours like a handful! I kind of hid this from him for the time being. Don't tell on me, ok? As someone who doesn't generally like minty things, I will say this was mild and quite refreshing. Just a little bit lathered up nicely on a loofa and left me feeling tingly and clean.
Verdict: This month's Petit Vour Plus box delivered a nice value of around $105.10 which is a little more than promised. This is such a fun subscription if you are looking for strictly vegan and cruelty-free brands. I also thought this mix was pretty well rounded and I thought most of it was great. A few items were a little meh but most of the items were totally things I will use until they are empty and enjoy.
