June 2020 Dapper Dog Box Review

Each box comes with two info cards, one listing the featured item of the month—the Dapper Dog monthly bandana—and the other has some social media info as well as a little more info about the charitable nature of this box.

Murray is ready to dig in!

Pawtriotic Pup Bandana

Every month Dapper Dog includes a festive double-sided bandana. This style is simple to tie and fits perfectly around my dog's neck. This month's theme is "Pawtriotic Pup," featuring two red, white, and blue designs.

Here is the bandana modeled on my BFF (he is my 9-year-old Corgi-Maltese); the medium size fits him to a T! This Americana theme isn't my favorite design, because it seems more like a part of a costume than a cute accessory. It will get some wear if we decide to have any get-togethers for the 4th of July, though.

Petlou 10" Popsicle Toy

Murray loves a good old fashioned squeaky toy. This iconic treat takes me back about 25 years, reminding me of fun, hot summers and chasing after the ice cream truck! This toy is pretty huge for Mur, but he took it on like a champ! It has one simple squeaker in the midst of all of that stuffing.

Pinned and ready to play!

Dogs Love Kale Apple Crisp Biscuits, 6 oz - Retail Value $5.99

Murray loves the crunch of these green biscuits! They are made in the USA and are wheat-free, meat-free, gluten-free, corn-free, and soy-free -- wow! I am shocked that Murray is liking these meatless biscuits so much, but he was digging for these treats after sampling them.

Love at first bite!

Taj Ma Hound Flag Cookie

What a pawtriotic treat! Usually, Murray loves to carry these cookies around the house savoring it all day, getting wet, sticky icing all over my duvet, but he wasn't wild about this flag. He gave it a few licks then totally snubbed it!

He loved Taj Ma Hound's cookies before, so I'm not sure why he's being so cold. This flag cookie is not listed for sale on their website, so I linked their other cookie treats above. All of Taj Ma Hound's treats are made with restaurant-quality ingredients and a yogurt-based icing.

SodaPup Nylon Hotdog Chew Toy - Retail Value $10.99

I've seen hard, nylon toys like this from SodaPup before, and honestly, Murray is not impressed; he prefers soft, fuzzy, or crinkly toys. This toy is made in the USA, out of non-toxic and FDA-compliant materials. It is also dishwasher safe!

“What is this thing!?” Murray wanted nothing to do with it, so we will simply pass this on to his Golden Doodle cousin who will be thrilled!

Verdict: Dapper Dog's June box wasn't a great fit for this old man. Murray doesn't love hard toys or treats, and even though he liked the kale biscuits and the bomb pop, it didn't make this month worth the cost for us. The value of the items received in Dapper Dog usually adds up to what you would pay for the subscription; for us, it is usually worth the cost to have treats and toys delivered each month, but sometimes it is hard to please this picky pup.

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.
