Ecocentric Mom April 2020 Review
1 of 4 2 of 4 3 of 4 4 of 4 Moluk Plui Brush – Retail Value $7.95 This first item is a cute little cloud brush that provides a fun and safe sensory experience for your little one. The cloud part is hard and then there are some softer bristles that can be used to tickle and brush them. My son thought it was fun and enjoyed the tickles. This item can also be paired with the cute Oogi-fant we received last month since its silicone suction cups will stick to the hard plastic of our cloud! Cute!
1 of 6 2 of 6 3 of 6 4 of 6 5 of 6 6 of 6 Again! Again! Notebook by Compendium – Retail Value $16.95 (found here for $12.99) This book is a cute little way to record all of the silly and adorable things your kids say. It has several lined pages with a spot to record the name and age of your child at the time along with some nice quotes strewn throughout as well. This would be a cute gift to give for a child’s first birthday! This is actually a repeat item for me from last April’s box, but I realize that my son has actually outgrown this subscription now that he is officially two! A repeat item such as this one is unlikely to happen to a subscriber, but if it did, Ecocentric Mom assured us that they would offer “a 30% discount toward any item purchase in our Ecocentric Mom Shop or a 20% discount (refund if prepaid) on the next month’s box.”
1 of 3 2 of 3 3 of 3 All Good Goop Balm, 2 oz. – Retail Value $13.99 I love a good calendula salve, in fact, that is what we use for pretty much everything these days from scratches to dry skin, and even diaper rashes, so I was glad to have another jar of it and test out a new brand that uses organic ingredients! This one smells really nice too with a very faint hint of lavender mixed with the calendula. It is a firmer texture, but it softens up easily between your fingers to apply it. I already tested it out on my son’s mild eczema on his elbows before bed and he woke up with softer skin!
1 of 3 2 of 3 3 of 3 Mavi Bandz Headband in Slithering Snakeskin Marble – Retail Value $14.99 (currently on sale for $12.99) This item is also a repeat item for me, although the colors in this one are much different and you can never have too many headbands! These are especially great because not only is the elastic section adjustable to ensure a perfect fit for your head, but the backside has this velour type material that helps it stay put in your hair instead of sliding around. This black and white pattern is pretty neutral, too! I like to wear these for working out…maybe this will inspire me to get back to that!
1 of 4 2 of 4 3 of 4 4 of 4 The last item for mom was this set from JD Bath Co. that came in this pretty satin bag. There was a card listing the items along with a 15% off coupon on the back for us. The products inside are organic, vegan, and paraben-free.
1 of 2 2 of 2 Bomb AF Organic Soap in Vanilla Mint – Buy 1 oz for $3.50 The first item was this little piece of soap which smells so good. It is not a strong scent, but the vanilla and mint go nicely together! There was no size information listed, but I believe it is a bit smaller than the 1 oz. soap on their site. I’ve only used it on my hands but it seemed to do the job without drying them out! Since there isn’t a size listed, I am viewing this soap as more of a little bonus item!
1 of 2 2 of 2 Rosey B. Organic Glow Oil, 1 oz. – Retail Value $25.00 This oil is really nice! It’s another multi-purpose item since you can use it for your face or skin. They say it can be used for acne, psoriasis, eczema, or even dry scalps! It can reduce inflammation and puffiness, even out your skin tone, and smooth the appearance of your skin since it has anti-aging properties as well. I have been using just a few drops on my face at night and it absorbs well and leaves my skin feeling smooth and looking hydrated by the morning. It is made with sweet almond oil, grapeseed oil, lavender, evening primrose, rosehip, and geranium. The bottle itself is so pretty too with real rose petals and even several pieces of rose quartz inside. Verdict: This month’s Ecocentric Mom box had a great mix of items! The Plui cloud was a unique and interesting toy for my son, and the All Good balm is so useful. While the book was a repeat for us, it is an item that is easily giftable. I am happy to have another headband and I also loved the pampering bath products. The rose oil felt like a pretty luxurious item and I’ve been happy with how it’s worked for me so far! The total retail value of these items (not including the soap) is $78.88 which is pretty awesome for a $36.99 (plus free shipping) box. To Wrap Up: Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No. If you sign up now, your first box will most likely be the May box. From Ecocentric Mom: “Your first box/ shop order will be packed and shipped within 2 business days. It will be sent by USPS Priority Mail and will arrive to US destinations within 1-3 business days of shipment date. You will receive a tracking number when the box is shipped.” COUPON: Use code MSA5 to save $5 off your subscription! Value Breakdown: This box costs $36.99 + free shipping so here is what you are paying approximately per item: Alternatively, you are paying about $7.40 for each of the 5 items in this box. I received the same box as you with the repeat items. Yesterday I received the following message from them:
We want to thank you for your continued patronage! Unfortunately, for the time being, we are no longer offering new (or renewal) subscriptions for Mom & Toddler past 24 months old. We are refunding your most recent order and cancelling any future orders.
As soon as our vendors are back up and running at 100%, we will let you know with a promo code for 25% off for the inconvenience.
Be well,
Richelle Westfall
