Ecocentric Mom April 2019 Review

We received this little card that includes a link to this page where we can filter by age to see the products from our box. This is great to check out if you are considering this subscription as you can see what items you might receive in another age group.

Maskeraide Firming Sheet Mask - Retail Value $4.48

I always enjoy getting a sheet mask in a box because it allows for a quick pampering session with no real work involved. This one has a fun name and it is intended to lift and smooth fine lines. This natural mask is eco-friendly and made with argan oil for a hydrating effect. It contains no parabens, sulfate, or harsh dyes and is 100% biodegradable. It left my skin feeling hydrated, and possibly even a little smoother!

Again! Again! Notebook by Copendium - Retail Value $16.95

This notebook is so unique and great for parents! Kids do say some of the craziest things and this is the perfect place to keep track of it all. This notebook features a hardcover with the letters embossed into it and a nice intro page with some fun designs. The quality is great and I think it would make a great gift!

The inside has lined pages with little quotes at the bottom and it is broken up every so often with a full page quote surrounded by some fun and colorful designs. This book is cute enough to leave out on a coffee table so that we can grab it quickly when we need to jot down what the kids say and it will be an interesting conversation starter for sure!

Orglamix Pure Mineral Eyeshadow in Limited Edition Hot Mama - Retail Value $12

What a pretty color for spring! And of course, the name, Hot Mama is fun. I have strayed away from loose eyeshadows throughout the years and unfortunately, this little pot reminded me of the reason. It is just so messy! Since this is a light shade, it was not too bad, but the sparkly powder did manage to get everywhere. I do love that the mineral powder is naturally derived.

Here it is swatched; a nice shimmery pink with a bit of a golden hue. I also tried it wet and the pigment was so beautiful and rich looking, but even that just became a big sparkly mess around my eyes after a short time. I haven't tried it with a primer yet, but I am hoping that helps because I really do love the color!

Earthley Elderberry Elixir for Kids (1 oz) - Retail Value $10.99

This elderberry tincture provides daily immune support with just a few drops. There are no added flavors, sugars, or preservatives and it has a mild, sweet flavor that the kids actually like. This bottle is also shelf stable which is nice because it doesn't need to be refrigerated like some others I have tried. I haven't been using it long enough to know whether it works, but I like the idea of being able to give the kids a quick immunity boost with natural, organic ingredients. In addition to the elderberry, it also contains cloves, orange peel, calendula, and cinnamon along with a few other ingredients that contribute to its antiviral, anti-bacterial,d and anti-inflammatory properties.

DinDin Smart Stainless Fork and Spoon Set - Retail Value $9.95

Well, these seem a bit out of place for my 13-month-old as he can barely use a plastic fork or spoon, let alone a large stainless set like these, but my four-year-old has already claimed these for herself, so they will definitely get used! This lightweight set is made from high quality 18/10 food grade stainless steel and comes in this nice convenient carrying case. They recommend using it to pack in lunches, but my daughter will probably use these at home because she likes the smaller 3 prong fork. These are actually designed to help with the toddler transition to adult silverware so that makes sense! These are dishwasher safe and will not stain or rust making them an eco-friendly option since they are so durable.

Verdict: I really enjoyed this month's Ecocentric Mom box. I thought it was a good mix of nice items for mom, like the face mask, notebook, and eyeshadow, along with some unique and useful items for baby. My favorite item was probably the notebook though because it was such a unique and thoughtful inclusion. I'm sure we will have plenty of fun things to fill it up with because our kids are pretty wild and very verbal! My husband has already added the animals my son saw at the zoo: the quesadilla, pizelles, and motor dragon (armadillo, gazelles, and a Komodo dragon). The total retail value of our items is $54.37, which is great for a $32.99 + free shipping box!

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!
