Allure Beauty Box March 2020 Review

A handy booklet has all the product info inside.

Mamonde Rose Water Toner, 0.84 fl oz – Estimated Value $2.29 (Buy a full-size 8.45 fl oz for $23.00)

FYI: Subscribers will receive either the Mamonde Red Energy Recovery Serum OR Mamonde Rose Water Toner OR Mamonde Petal Spa Oil to Foam Cleanser.

I love anything from this brand, but I do wish this sample had been bigger! The actual full size is more than affordable though, which is some consolation. I like to pour a little bit of this rose-scented liquid into my hands (before my day cream or night cream) and pat it into my face. It is a refreshing moisture boost to any routine and I always find it especially calming.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in 'Zero', 0.03 oz - Estimated Value $16.50 (Buy a full-size 0.04 oz version for $22.00)

FYI: Subscribers will receive either Rituals The Ritual of Ayurveda Shower Foam OR Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil.

I am not much of an eyeliner gal (which makes the rate at which they arrive on my desk even more ironic) but I generally find pencils to be subpar to gels or liquids. This pencil is the exception because it is wonderfully smooth and lasts for what feels like forever. One drawback for me is that the tip of the pencil never feels sharp enough for a more delicate flick, but the buttery smoothness and blend-ability make up for that, at least in my book.

Lue by Jean Seo Cleansing Powder, 2 oz - Full Size! Retail Value $15.00

FYI: Subscribers will receive either Dr. Botanicals Lemon Superfood All-in-One Rescue Butter OR Lue by Jean Seo Cleansing Powder (Both Full Size).

I received this back in May of 2019 too, and enjoyed it, though nothing groundbreaking resulted in terms of my overall skin. This is a 3-ingredient formula, containing oat flour, milk powder, and magnesium carbonate. It smells a lot like oatmeal which is very natural and yummy. Basically, you add water to it, apply to your face, wait about a minute, then rub it off in small circles. Again, not a huge WOW moment for me here, but the ritual itself was super relaxing and was worth the time alone.

FLOSS My New Favorite Gloss in 'YUL', 15 g - Full Size! Retail Value $16.00

FYI: Subscribers will receive either the LAX or YUL shade of this gloss.

This is a really nice all-around clear gloss that I just happened to get back in my June 2019 Allure box too. It isn't sticky but is still shiny, and the formula leaves your lips feeling super moisturized. It has a light sweet scent that was quite nice, and some of the coolest packaging in my purse.

Lapcos Hyaluronic Moisturizing Sheet Mask - Retail Value $3.00

FYI: Subscribers will receive either the Lapcos Hyaluronic Moisturizing Sheet Mask or Ceramide Sheet Mask.

Finally, a sheet mask was my last item, and I am thrilled with it. My face is going through some feelings this month! As most of you know by now, Marne and I are both about halfway through our Esthetician schooling. It is great, but it means our faces get practiced on A LOT, which is both good and bad. Sheet masks have been really nice for my poor face at the end of a day filled with exfoliation, creams, peels, heavy-duty makeup, and more. By the time I get all of that stuff off, my skin is beyond angry, and a mask like this is just the ticket for calming it down. This one specifically had loads of moisturizing hyaluronic acid, which gave my skin a boost of much-needed moisture.

Verdict: This Allure box has a total value of at least $81.79 which is great for a $15 box. I was a little miffed that there were some repeats, but nothing in here was a dud. My faves are easily the sheet mask and the Mamonde toner (I sense a K-Beauty theme here) but the mascara was also quite nice!

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I’m on my second beauty box and can vouch that what they send is top quality and well worth the $15. It gives you the opportunity to try new products without a huge investment. I haven’t tried everything yet, but the Thrive lipliner, Floss lip gloss and Ceramide mask (so smoothing and hydrating!) are my favorites so far.

Are these boxes different per person? I didn’t receive any of those product in my box. I just got my first box delivered today.

Is there a reason the Lue powder container is only 2/3 full?

I am not a fan of that mascara. It looked great when I first applied it. It was really natural and coated well, but a few hours later it was EVERYWHERE in those annoying, flaking specks. There was tiny, black particles all under my eyes, on my eyelid, and IN my eyes. It was worse than having allergy eyes. If if stayed put, it could’ve been in my regular, light make up day rotation; but, I can’t do flaky messes. I was pretty let down because everyone seemed to like it.

I wasn’t thrilled with this months box. Another mascara, I have so many mascaras from so many subs I could open a store. I wanted the toner but got the serum. No makeup except lipgloss which I don’t use. I also have 1200 of those. In my opinion they need to do more boxes like the December 2019 box, now that was nice. All in all though for $15.00 this is a pretty good sub, and I’ve had them all. I wish they would throw in an eyeshadow palette once in a while, I’d gladly give up the mascara and the lipgloss for that.

Got my box today! Only repeat I got was the floss and it’s a totally different color. The one I already have is clear.
I got the momonde red energy serum and all-in-one rescue butter, so I’m actually pretty happy with this box!

Jessica

The rescue butter is magnificent and makes the whole box worthwhile. My hands are so dry right now.

Got my Amazon box today.

It was the version that I saw in the magazine.

So mascara, hand cream, serum, UD liner, Lax gloss, and another hyaluronic mask.

Not bad.

I don’t know how Allure gets it so right for me month after month. It’s like they’re inside my head, lol. I’ve subscribed for so long that I can’t remember if I filled out a survey.

I received the gloss in LAX and I love the color. I used up most of the tube that they sent out last year in YUL.

The other products that I received were the UD liner (my favorite black liner), the lemon superfood cream, the serum, mascara, and the ceramide mask. Allure is definitely my favorite box. Every month I receive awesome new products to try, I look forward to this box every month. 😉

This was my twin box and I loved it!!! Made my locked in day today as all of my other subs are out for now. Nice surprise. Only thing I haven’t tried yet is the mascara but I love getting mascara in boxes. Black eyeliner is meh but this one blends into a nice smokey eye easily so not mad about it. The gloss is my lips but better and it’s super moisturizing might be my go to!
Hang in there n stay safe everyone!

My box arrived today and it was a boost after kind of a rotten week.

I call it the “Best of All Possible Worlds” combination.

I got the mascara, the Mamonde serum, the shower foam, the hand cream, the Floss gloss in Lax, and a hyaluronic mask.

No repeats and no stupid black eyeliner.

For some odd reason my Amazon sub tripped as well. That should arrive Monday. Every other time they’ve been duplicates, so I’m curious to see how this shakes out.

Beccah

I got the same but with a moisture mask!

Reply ButtonReply

Crystal

I was hoping for the Mamonde Red Energy serum but got the cleanser instead. I do like that brand so I’m still excited the brand was in there & I will use it anyway. I got the floss gloss in LAX and the mask is the Ceramide. All in all very happy, I will use everything in the box.

Reply ButtonReply

Jenny

Wow, apart from the mascara I’ve received every one of these last year. Okay maybe not UD eyeliner but we all have many many black eyeliners. I keep skipping a month on amazon …. checked this site with hopes of a fun month. I’ve cancelled all this year so far…….

I’m really pleased with the variation I received. My box included: Rodial mascara, Mamond Recovery Serum, Dr. Botanicals Rescue Butter, Floss Gloss in LAX, Rituals Foaming Shower Gel and Lapcos Hyaluronic Mask. These are the items I was hoping to receive.

Box twin!

Jamey

Um, I have got all this from allure before……what’s going on with it?!?!they should have the best box out here with all the connections they should have and money for advertising etc. I just dont understand this.

The UD eyeliner is my holy grail; I’m way too uncoordinated for liquid. Megan, to get a flick, draw your line and then immediately go over it lightly with an angled brush and flick up at the end. Once it dries, it won’t budge!

Reply ButtonReply

MzBev

I love the UD eyeliner pencil! That and the MUG are the only 2 pencils i will use. I prefer the marker type, but if a sub is going to send a pencil -these are the best!
Around the holidays I bought a 4, deluxe size, pack of UD, with black, dark blue, purple and a bronzey shade. I use them often! They really don’t budge!

Carrie

I love that eyeliner too and was hoping to get it but I didn’t. I love a good high quality pencil eyeliner.

Jackie

sephora is offering the same eyeliner same color for free with purchase

I think Urban Decay’s trying to goose sales.

They’re running a 20 – 25% off sale right now. It doesn’t apply to new stuff, so the trick is figuring out what you might want that will.

Reply ButtonReply

Taren

Lol- the site says it’s having an “error” suspending my subscription. Imagine that?! Tired of boring sample sizes that I have tons of duplicates of.

Reply ButtonReply

Amy

So sad that lipgloss is trendy this year. It feels gross, wrecks my hair and the rest of my makeup and for me at least, makes me look and feel like a fourth grader.

Why couldn’t we have left slippery lips in 2006? At least the slimy spoilers have kept my wallet safe!

Reply ButtonReply

Courtney

Soooo I hope I do not receive that cleansing powder, we received that last spring & it was nothing special at all. Hate repeat items like that! Also in the lip gloss, I want the shade LAX since I have the other shade. Everything else is good for me lol.

Charlotte

I, on the other hand, am delighted that we seem to be leaving dry, cracking, gross matte lips in the dust. Bring on the gloss!

Reply ButtonReply

DawnS

Agreed!

Nan_A

I like Rodial Glamolash Mascara XXL too!

Reply ButtonReply

Pink5

I haven’t tried it yet, so it’ll be fun.

it gives a nice natural look right?

i cancelled about..3 months ago..just not anything good anymore..

Grace

wish the Urban Decay eyeliner was in a different color. I love their eyeliners and have at least 15 of them. They’re really pigmented and they stay on, even when you’re trying to remove it.

Reply ButtonReply

Joy

Right?!?!? It literally broke my heart looking at that card up there that says it comes in 32 different colors. There was so much potential here!

Reply ButtonReply

Pink5

Zero is their go to for giveaways. I almost fainted when the Oz set I got a while back came with a purple one.

Grace

Wow this would have been almost all repeats for me. I have received every one of those except the sheet mask. Glad I cancelled. I went with both boxycharm boxes and have the luxe as well, at least with them I am guaranteed no repeats and getting full size instead of small samples is much better for me. I am always happy with what I get, and in the odd chance I get something I don’t like I can gift it to one of my friends.

Reply ButtonReply

Rena

So I am not great about wearing my glasses and when I recieved the Lue last time I thought it was a dry shampoo😂 It literally is the best dry shampoo I have ever used. No flakes, tons of volume, and hair does exactly what I want. I will not mind a second bottle. Lol

Reply ButtonReply

Pink5

Good to hear. I haven’t cracked mine yet, so this is a thought.
I have a whole bagful of dry shampoos and almost never use it.

Reply ButtonReply

Megan K.

ok now i am intrigued!

I tried this yesterday morning, and my hair is not greasy at all today. It also didn’t leave any residue. * I use dry shampoo products after I wash my hair while still wet as a preventative measure. I have thin, oily hair and if I use after it gets oily, I have to use too much product and my hair doesn’t look or feel great. My hair is also faux blonde hair, so it’s also drier so it’s important I don’t over shampoo for texture and color.* Anyway, this worked awesome. Thank you.

Reply ButtonReply

Joy B.

Thank you for this amazing idea! I use dry shampoo like three times a week and I bet this works great. You are a genius!

Reply ButtonReply

Meso

Lol!!! I still have my bottle! Itll be going in my hair!

Reply ButtonReply

SBR

Glad I am still on pause… I wanted to try about 3 items, but since there are on the variation list… i was hoping that current subscribers wouldn’t get the older products, but guess not…

Reply ButtonReply

Jill

I’m going to be really upset if I get this box, which would be almost all repeats. I don’t need more of that lue or the clear lip gloss or black eyeliner. The face wash isn’t bad but again, I don’t need more of the same. Cmon Allure.

Reply ButtonReply

Debbie E.

I am so glad for Spoilers so I could cancel. Allure is really hit or miss. This was a complete miss. I already received 3 of these items and n previous Allure Boxes last year. Why the Lue?? That stuff was awful. I tried giving away and couldn’t. Blagh!!
