January 2020 Petit Vour "Cozy Night In" Box Review

We didn't receive an information sheet, but we did get this insert with more information about the monthly box.

Lavido Mandarin Aromatic Body Lotion, 30 mL - Estimated Value $4.75 (Buy the 120 ml version for $19)

I love a strong citrus scent, and this mandarin-scented lotion delivered. Along with mandarin oil, this lotion has orange oil and bergamot oil for an intoxicatingly refreshing scent, and the lotion has a base of shea butter, vitamin E, and aloe to moisturize the skin. I thought this worked well on my dry skin without being too heavy, and I am almost done with this sample because I keep reaching for it over some of the other lotions I have in my stash.

Lavido Thera Intensive Foot Cream, 30 mL - Estimated Value $7 (Buy the 120 ml version for $28)

I love the smell of tea tree oil, so this foot cream was a win before I even applied it. This is made from a nourishing blend of oils like avocado, almond, and jojoba oil, as well as shea butter and synthetic beeswax. Along with smelling amazing, the tea tree oil works with myrtle oil and achillea extract for some natural anti-fungal and natural deodorizing. This felt like a real treat to apply to my tired feet before bed, and when I woke up the next morning my feet were definitely softer.

Province Apothecary Moisturizing Cleanser + Makeup Remover, 30 mL - Retail Value $20

This cleansing oil is made with sunflower seed oil, jojoba oil, and avocado oil along with vitamin E and therapeutic-grade essential oils. The smell from the essential oils was really pleasant to me, and I thought this did a good job breaking down my makeup. When I rinsed it away it did feel like there was a slight film left on my skin, but I always follow up an oil cleanser with a second cleanse exactly for this reason.

Akar Balance Toning Mist, 15 mL - Estimated Value $11.78 (Buy the 70 ml version for $55)

I really like Akar- they're a brand I would definitely like to try more from, and I love their chic packaging. This toner is made with the star ingredients white willow bark, rose, and saffron stem cells, and this did a great job of adding a boost of hydration to my skin without being heavy. This really lives up to the "balancing" name, and I appreciate this is free from both alcohol and water fillers.

Leahlani Bless Beauty Balm, 7 mL - Estimated Value $12.60 (Buy the 30 ml version for $54)

I thought at first this was a full-size lip balm, but it is actually a multi-purpose balm that can be used anywhere that needs a little extra hydration. Ingredients include heavy hitters like shea and cocoa seed butter, along with moringa, marula, argan, and camellia oils. It is delicately scented from the orange blossom and blue tansy, and this worked well both on my dry lips and super dry cuticles.

Little River Sock Mill Bronze Multi Socks - Estimated Value $18 (linked to a similar style)

These socks are made in Fort Payne, Alabama with organic cotton and low impact dyes. I think this is the perfect finishing touch to a box themed around being cozy, and I really like that I was able to select which color socks I wanted. These were comfy with a good amount of stretch; they feel like a nicer quality sock than what I typically buy.

Verdict: This curated box from Petit Vour was lovely! I really felt like the theme of self-care was present throughout the box, and all of the products felt luxurious and performed well for me. In the subscription box world there aren't as many options for boxes that exclusively provide vegan products, but I think this one is well worth the price. Value-wise, everything in my box adds up to  $74.13, which is about double the cost of the box.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you order today? Yes, as of publication, this box is still available!

Value Breakdown: At $39.99 ($35 + $4.99 shipping) for this box, here’s what you are paying approximately per item:

  • Lavido Body Lotion: $2.56
  • Lavido Foot Cream: $3.77
  • Province Apothecary: $10.79
  • Akar: $6.35
  • Leahlani:  $6.80
  • Little River Sock Mill: $9.71

I was really disappointed in Akar. I got the lip balm in the Allure box and while I waited for it to arrive, I got their 3 “free” samples. I got the balm so i could have a little one for my purse, plus the balm in ruby, and the clarifying cleanser. The balms are just not good. They never sink in and I feel like I just have grease on my lips. The ruby balm had very little tint on, since it goes on super thin. Tue cleanser didn’t do a good job of removing my makeup at all. I’ll be passing on their products from now on.

I am happy to see the review the lavido body lotion.. I got the full size version of this in my FFF $5 box and haven’t been able to use till now since I am on overload of samples which I am trying to get over with before opening any full size products. Glad it does the job well 😀

So over this box. It’s like an overpriced Birchbox but for clean beauty.
