December 2019 MoonBox “Dream” Review

MoonBox sends out an info guide every month describing the featured items included in the box as well as instructions on how they should be used. It also gives a general overview of the major cosmic events happening this month. This month has a New Moon in Sagittarius; MoonBox suggests that now is the perfect time to dream and try to manifest those dreams into reality and into the new year.

Wooden Lunar Calendar/Collectible Crystal Card

Every month MoonBox includes a stylish wooden lunar calendar with the featured collectible crystal card on the back.

Fire & Bloom Unicorn Dream Candle, 4 oz - Retail Value $22

A lavender-scented candle--there's no better scent to promote dreaming! Lighting this small tin candle should help promote relaxation and peace; it is perfect to use while meditating and will invoke the third eye and crown chakra. This candle was hand-poured, topped with a tiny sprinkling of sparkles to spark joy in your inner unicorn.

Love by Luna Mystic Mani Nail Polish in The Numinous - Retail Value $18

This is the first crystal-infused nail polish I've seen, and I don't think they could have chosen a better color. I love a bold bluish-purple, especially for my pedicures. Not only does this polish contain micronized amethyst and obsidian, but it is also vegan and 5 free! The consistency was almost watery, taking 3 coats to reach opacity. Each coat dried very quickly and layered beautifully (swatched above on my pinky).

Root & Sky Sparkle Gem Essence, 1 oz - Retail Value $20

Infused with 24-carat gold, Herkimer Diamond, citrine, golden apatite, golden fluorite, peacock ore and ruby in fuchsite, this essence is loaded with feel-good vibes and positive intent. It is preserved in organic glycerine and distilled water and has somewhat of a pleasant taste, which is very shortlived. This product is supposed to help you radiate positivity; use by dispensing a few drops directly on your tongue or into your water bottle.

Love in Letters Design Greeting Cards, 2 Cards - Retail Value $10

I love to keep an array of greeting cards at home just in case something comes up; it is always nice when the inside is blank so you can mold the card to fit the occasion. I especially like the moon phase card for a "thinking of you" or a sympathetic message. These blank greeting cards are hand-lettered and drawn then digitally rendered; MoonBox has featured this Etsy shop in the past, and I really like their minimalist and artsy style.

Amethyst: A crystal for internal awareness. introspection and dreamscapes. Associated signs: Sagittarius, Aquarius & Libra

This crystal is a great stone to represent this month's dream theme. Amethyst is February's birthstone, just perfect for Pisces, the dreamers of the zodiac. This is a little small for a deluxe crystal, but I really like the size and shape and that I am able to easily see that beautiful purple hue. This stone should help protect energies, canceling distractions from fear and limitations, to allow your mind to bring dreams, big and small, to fruition.

The Verdict:  MoonBox's December curation had a very cohesive and fun theme. I really like all the items sampled this month, and I always enjoy reading all of the information about this month's box and crystal. The value of this box usually just about meets its subscription cost, and if you're someone who loves astrology and crystals, then this is a great box to treat yourself with each month.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, but sign up by 1/22 to get the February box!

Value Breakdown: This box costs $34.00 + $2.00 shipping, which means that each of the 6 items in the box has an average cost of $6.

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.
