September 2019 Sisley Paris "Red Carpet Picks" Box Review

Each box comes with a card indicating the theme of the box. This month focuses on makeup artist Rachel Goodwin's top Sisley picks!

Now, let's check out the items!

Every month, the products come nestled inside a satin pouch. This month, the pouch is a pale pink!

Eye and Lip Contour Cream, 1.5 ml - Estimated Value $21.00 (Buy a full-size 15 ml version for $210.00)

This product comes with a special tool to apply it, so I expect that to be a little more of a luxe experience. I liked this cream very much, though I saved the majority of it for my eye area, since it is more finicky and delicate than my mouth area. It provided instant plumping and loads of moisture, making it an awesome option for both day and night usage, if you have enough $$$ to invest.

Double Tenseur, 2 ml - Estimated Value $12.80 (Buy a full-size 30 ml version for $192.00)

This is a primer with a watery gel-like texture. It absorbs into the skin instantly and does provide a nice surface for makeup. Because it is filled with botanicals, it improves the look and texture of your skin over time while also being a great daily primer. It also smells great! While I can't imagine spending this much on a primer and I am not entirely convinced another similar serum wouldn't have a similar effect, this does feel so high quality and over-the-top luxurious.

Instant Eclat, 5 ml - Estimated Value $15.00 (Buy a full-size 30 ml version for $90.00)

This is another primer that reminds me of an incredibly fancy MAC Strobe Cream in terms of texture and shimmer. Again, this is a skin improvement over time sort of primer, so you get both the benefits of glowing, primed skin and long term texture improvement. It also leaves your skin feeling like velvet and it's much more hydrating than the Double Tenseur.

Phyto-Eye Twist in #1 Topaze, 1 g – Estimated Value $33.33 (Buy a full-size 1.5 g for $50.00)

I tend to like shadow crayons and this bronze shade is undeniably wearable. It is sheer with just a little added, but very buildable, meaning you can go for a minimal wash on your lids or for total drama. It blends beautifully and was very long-wearing, with minimal creases for me at the end of the day.

A wonderful, soft brown.

White Ginger Contouring Oil for Legs, 8 ml – Estimated Value $10.13 (Buy a full size 150 ml for $190.00)

I am really into oils, especially for my legs since most creams seem to inflame my sensitive skin, especially after shaving. Why oils don't, I have no idea! This feels thicker than most oils, almost gel-like in fact. But when you rub it in it disappears, much like a dry oil. It has a spicy and bright ginger scent that is very much a fragrance I associate with this luxury brand.

Verdict: Sisley had a value of around $92.26 for this box. (Keep in mind I come to this estimation based on the full-size values.) The overall estimated value for this box always seems so high, especially for smaller samples until I look up how much a full size would set me back! I really liked the products this month, notably the leg oil, eye twist, and Instant Eclat primer. I always try to stash these samples away for more special occasions, though with two being in foils this month I guess I will have to pamper myself on a random weekday!

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

This looks so awesome! I knew I should have signed up after last month’s box. I was on the fence but this convinced me. I hope I can still get this box!
