JustFab Review + First Look for $10 – October 2019

JustFab is a monthly clothing, shoes and accessories subscription that allows you to shop in two ways – you can shop the regular store, or you can sign up for their VIP membership. VIP memberships work like this:

  • Take the Style quiz to note your size and style preferences.
  • Each month, JustFab releases a new collection and they will curate looks that match your preferences which you can view in your personalized Boutique.
  • Shop those looks at 40% off what you’d get just paying retail, or skip the month. You have to make your decision by the 5th of the month. If you do neither, the $39.95 monthly membership fee will be saved to your account as a credit, which you can put towards other outfits later.
  • As you shop, you’ll also earn points that can be applied towards future purchases.

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

JustFab October 2019 Review

Inside my package were a few inserts and coupons for the Function of Beauty and Hello Fresh. You can learn more about Hello Fresh right here.

I also received an invoice with some information about returns and exchanges on the back.

Floral Print Long Sleeve Top, Size L – Retail Value $47.95, VIP Price $32.95

This month I had a fun choice and a safe choice. This top was my fun choice and I used some reward points that I had saved up to get this at a discount ($23.06). Originally I ordered a medium top and granted, I am on the cusp between a medium and large in some tops, but the medium was like a joke on me. I exchanged it for the size large that I am wearing here and let me just warn you that these photos are strategically posed to hide a lot of the fit flaws here! This top must be made for someone with a tiny frame and a tiny bust which is clearly not me. It was a struggle to get this one on and I am actually holding my hand on my hip over the zipper portion which I could not get zipped even with help. I think it could have zipped up (with a lot of sucking in), but the zipper itself was very tough and got stuck even when just zipping it up while it was off. I am wearing my highest-waisted jeans here and this top feels so short on me and the bust is incredibly awkward looking. I’m sure it’s designed to wear without a bra and the extra fabric would keep it modest-looking, but I need more support in the bust and this top provided none so I have a strapless on under this which barely fit inside the cups of the shirt. Needless to say, I definitely think this one runs a bit on the smaller side.

Here you can see some of the details up close. This is the medium top that was first sent and another bummer for this top is that it’s hand wash only. I do love the pattern and colors, but the fit was quite a disappointment.

As for the exchange process, it was quick and easy. I just went under my account to my order history, found the top I wanted to exchange and then went through the quick exchange prompts. I printed out my label, packaged it back in the mailer it came in and slipped it into the mailbox to return. They mailed my exchange once they received notification of my return.

Cozy Brushed Hacci Top in Burgundy, Size M – Retail Value $32.95, VIP Price $22.95

This top was my safe choice. I love this color, which actually matches the colors of the flowers in the first top well, but this soft knit and simple style is perfect for fall. I do have to wear a dark bra with this because any light colors underneath shine through quite brightly. Also, you can see in the last photo that the slits on the side come up quite high and even with these high-waisted jeans on I am flashing a bit of skin. I am not sure if maybe it’s because their sizes run smaller and I should really have chosen a large or if it is just the design of the shirt. Otherwise, it feels like it fits well, its soft and comfortable and something I see myself throwing on often!

Here is a closeup of this one. It is also hand wash only, but I think I’ll attempt a cold cycle in the machine anyway.

The Verdict: I have never ordered actual clothing items from Just Fab before other than last month‘s jacket, but I think that I will have to be more discerning in the future since their clothing seems to run a bit small. While the floral top did not work out for me, I am happy with the Hacci top since it is so comfortable and perfect for fall! This month I didn’t really score any good sales other than using my rewards points to lower the cost of the floral top and my total came to $48.77 (including taxes) with free shipping. While it sounds like a big savings with the original retail total coming to $80.90, I personally don’t think the clothing is quite worth what they’re valued at.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes! All pieces are still available, although sizes are limited.

COUPON: Get your first look for $10! No coupon needed - just use this link.

Value Breakdown: The total retail value for all three pieces is $80.90, and the VIP price is $55.90. That’s a discount of about 31%. With my rewards points, I only paid $48.77 which is a 40% savings.

  1. I used to buy things from JustFab and I can say that sizing and quality is all over the place. Some items I still wear a couple years later, and some didn’t age well. I only ended up really liking half of what I bought, so I stopped ordering.

Also, their return policy is awful You either get full credit on their site or a lesser amount cash back. And you can’t use the credit with sales, so you’re stuck paying full price to use it, therefore losing even more money.

    • Ah, good to know! Thanks so much for sharing! 🙂
