Pura Vida Jewelry Club “The Starburst Set” September 2019 Review

One thing I enjoy about Pura Vida is that they always send some nice stickers with their jewelry. The designs are really fun and they always come packaged inside this foldout card that shares their story and details how they give back. They create over 200 full-time jobs for artisans worldwide!

Your jewelry will arrive in this nice sturdy box with a magnetic closure that would be perfect for gifting. Inside is some fun tropical tissue paper that makes for such a nice presentation! The card on top of our tissue paper welcomes us to the club and reminds us how our exclusive jewelry is only available to club members. This month we also received this bonus sticker that goes so nicely with our set!

Just a note: This card states that the value will be up to $50, while their website lists it as being up to $65. This is a little confusing, and also could be misleading since the higher value is listed on their website, but after a quick (and easy) chat with customer service they confirmed that the $65 value is correct. Hopefully, they correct these cards soon!

Inside the box were two little dust bags, one for each piece of jewelry. These are a bit different than the ones that come in their bracelet club pack. These are a little smoother and sleeker in my opinion.

Starburst Signet Ring

The first piece in our Starburst Set is this silver signet ring. While this isn’t something I would typically pick out, I feel like it’s on-trend and I have several friends who enjoy this signet style. In the center is this sparkly starburst made from genuine Swarovski crystals.

While I think the ring is very pretty, it feels a bit bulky to me, but this is really just a style preference! It is not uncomfortable by any means and I don’t notice it when it’s on since it is very lightweight with a flat profile at the top.

Starburst Necklace

The necklace features a circular pendant with a matching genuine Swarovski crystal starburst in the center. While it is meant to be more of a celestial star shape, it reminds me of a snowflake necklace that my sister has and I think this will be a pretty one to wear in the winter since this could easily pass for a snowflake if you were to just glance at it.

Here is the necklace on the longest setting. It’s cute and simple and very much my style!

Here are the two pieces next to each other. You can see how well they coordinate!

Here are the two pieces on together. Those starbursts really do sparkle!

The Verdict: This month’s Pura Vida Jewelry Club set was not quite my style and since I am more into gold metals at the moment, I was slightly disappointed to see a silver set again this month since last month’s set was also silver. These are really just personal preferences though and since I have been happy with every other set I received, I really can’t complain! I actually do really like the necklace and will be wearing it for sure, it’s just the ring that is a little different for me. The quality of the jewelry was still great and I do love the Swarovski starbursts! For $19.95 for this box, I think the value is there!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? As of now, it looks like this pack is still available!  From Pura Vida:

Orders ship within 4-5 days of purchase. Your card will be charged $19.95 + tax on the 7th of each month, and your pack will arrive around the 15th.

Value Breakdown: At $19.95 for this box, you’re paying about $9.98 for each piece.

  1. Love this set. Just signed up. I need a shopping intervention.

    • I really thought it was little compasses on each piece

  2. I like the heft of the ring. It feels more substantial and of better quality than rings I’ve received in other subscription boxes that gotten bent out of shape after a couple of wearings. I’m always impressed by the value and quality in both Pura Vida monthly clubs.

    • Now that I’ve worn it for a few days, I do like it more than I expected! and I agree – it is pretty durable! 🙂

  3. I thought they always sent silver jewelry.

The tropical cards that come in the box make fun summer coasters!

    • They’ve been switching between silver and gold pretty regularly. Great idea for the coasters! 🙂
