The Holo Hookup June 2019 “Amazon Rainforest” Review
Cupcake Polish in Heliconia, 15 mL – Estimated Value $13 (this is an exclusive shade made just for The Holo Hookup, but check out other holographic polishes from Cupcake Polish here)
This was my favorite color this month- it is the perfect coral with pink undertones and golden shimmer, and while it looks pure orange in photos it has a slightly more peach appearance to it in person that I adore. The next time I get a pedicure, this shimmery beauty will be going on my toes.
Different Dimension in Iguazu Falls, 15 mL – Estimated Value $11 (this is an exclusive shade made just for The Holo Hookup, but check out other holographic polishes from Different Dimension here)
This is a stunning magenta holo with multi-colored shimmers and iridescent flakes, but it feels really similar to a lot of other colors that Different Dimension has produced for this box over the past year I have been reviewing it. The brush on this also felt a little different than normal (a little rougher, if that makes sense), but the formula was easy to work with.
Glisten & Glow in Under The Kapok Tree, 15 mL – Estimated Value $12 (this is an exclusive shade made just for The Holo Hookup. Check out the other polishes offered by Glisten & Glow here)
It takes a special jelly polish for me to think “squishy” when I apply it, but that’s exactly what this bright green jelly with iridescent flakes calls to mind. I used two thin coats for the photos, but I would probably go with three in the future.
Indie by Patty Lopes in Giant Lily Pad, 10 mL – Estimated Value $11 (this is an exclusive shade made just for The Holo Hookup. Check out the other polishes offered by Indie by Patty Lopes here)
This is a very sheer ice blue holo with purple duochrome shift and multichrome flakes- it reminds me of Frozen, and while it is gorgeous, it is annoying how sheer it is. I would probably wear this over another color so I don’t have to do four coats to almost get full opacity.
The Verdict: The Holo Hookup is a great box if you love unique nail polish- and this month’s colors felt great for the summer, and I appreciate that the guest nail polish was from a Brazilian brand considering the Amazon theme. The $44 box cost is steep, but I think it is worth it when you look at the unique, box-exclusive polishes that are high quality and fun. All of these polishes are only available through this box.

I love all the shades and they look so pretty on! Great review!
Anything holo is fun. But, it feels like a waste of $$, too much money actually.
I buy glitters from eBay, holo ones.. I make my own polish. Turns out way better then most of these. Mostly just put it over a top coat, ECT. It isn’t rock science.
I get more pleasure from it, since I’m being creative.
Also looks so good!! <3
Your nails look so pretty! Every month I say I’m gona get the next month but there is always 1 shade I don’t like and it’s a loss of $11 . On day there will be 4 I like .
If you’re on Facebook, there are always people looking to split the box or purchase certain bottles from it. I did that with the current July HH box since I only wanted 3 colors. Sold the Cupcake polish because it looks too much like other colors I have. Problem solved!
