July 2019 So Susan Color Curate Review

back of info card with design featuring dog on skateboard complete product list

Included this month is an info card with a list of all of the included products. It looks like this bag has a listed value of $115.00!

Limited-Edition Makeup Bag July 2019  - Retail Value $12.00

This cute Frenchie is riding a skateboard across this bag and it is SO cute!

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics Diamond Twinkle Angled Contour Brush - Retail Value $34.00

This brush is really long. From tip to tip it is around 8.5 inches, which is far too long for my makeup bag, so this will be a vanity-only brush. I do quite love the super fluffy brush head and thought it added a very soft finish to my translucent powder.

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics Nebula in "Milky Way", 4 g - Retail Value $22.00

This eyeshadow has a spongy cream texture that is really interesting. I was actually a little unimpressed when I used it with a brush because I thought there would be more shimmer and payoff. I then wet my brush a little and WOW did that make a difference in coverage and radiance. It was a perfect brow bone color on my lid and was smooth as silk. You could easily use this for a highlighter too!

So Susan Cosmetics Halo on High in "Flashback", 4 g - Retail Value $25.00

These highlighters have made a few appearances in this sub recently: a single in May, another single in March and a quad in February. Surely I have all of them by now? At least this month's shade is a pretty smoked plum color instead of a golden brown or bronze. While the shade looked a little too silvery on my cheekbones, it is a stunningly gorgeous eyeshadow with my light brown eyes. It blends out beautifully and is buildable, so go soft or full drama, your choice!

Top: Nebula Eyeshadow in "Milky Way." Bottom: Halo on High in "Flashback."

Trifle Cosmetics Red Velvet Palette - Retail Value $22.00

Although this packaging is a little too cutesy for me personally, the shades inside are right up my alley! I think this palette actually has all of the colors I keep close by in one package. My favorite duo would easily be the Candy High pair, a gorgeous dirty pink and brown/olive shimmer combo. The only set I thought wasn't excellent would be the Sugarcoated pair, mainly because the first shade is lacking in saturation, but other than that, this is a solid palette I really enjoyed!

Verdict: So Susan Color Curate was much better this month for me than the last few reviews. I was really over gold/bronze! This box was very shimmery and just pretty. I love plummy pink shades and there were a ton in this box. The palette is full of shades I will wear and the luminizer will likely also end up as a shadow. I thought the Nebula shadow was gorgeous as a shadow or highlighter, and I liked the weird texture. The brush was a little long to live anywhere outside of my vanity, but I loved the oversized fluffy head. The overall value lands somewhere around $115, which is great for a $20.95 box.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I ordered July’s box based on the palette in this review, but I was sent a gold palette instead of the Red Velvet palette I so badly wanted to try. 🙁 I am already overloaded with golds.

Love all the shimmer!

I love these colors! I could easily use all of them for eyeshadows and actually be able to pull them off.

Agree completely! I was getting really weary of browns and golds. And how many bronzers does one fair girl need?

Finally a month with my kind of colors and no lippie in a color that is the worst for me.
Great review as always. Thank you.
