Limited-Edition Makeup Bag March 2019  – Retail Value $12.00

I love this adorable cacti print! The bright colors really pop against the darker green background.

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics – Lip Patine in “Hermit, 2.5 g – Retail Value $22.00

We received another shade of this formula back in January, but I really liked this stuff so I am fine with adding another to my collection. This color looks really orange in the tube, so I was expecting a metallic orange that would be harder to wear. As happens so often while reviewing, I was totally wrong. It is actually a more reddish pink with a gold metallic sheen. It is very pretty and vibrant, and will be a great bold summer shade for sure!

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics – Luna Light in “Aurora, 10 ml – Retail Value $19.00

This illuminator is a very pretty sandy shimmer, perfect for a ton of skin tones. I like to mix shades like this directly into my liquid foundation then apply with a brush for a super dewy look that lands me many compliments and makes me look very awake and glowing. Ponts for not having a blue or purple mica! This is very natural looking indeed. You can also use this as a sheer eyeshadow.

So Susan Cosmetics – Halo on High in “Presidential, 4g – Retail Value $25.00

In last month’s review, we received this same shade in the included Stratosphere Palette, so I wasn’t too excited to see it again so soon. That being said it is a really pretty highly pigmented illuminizer which many people will really love. It is a little too orange for me personally, but I have a friend who will love it. Even though I have little use for it, it will make a really great little ‘just because’ gift.

Trifle Cosmetics – Fruit Punch Palette, 10 g – Retail Value $22.00

I know these colors look insanely bright but bear with me when I say they are much more subtle when swatched. I think the fun orange compact makes them look much less wearable than they actually are. Each is incredibly pigmented and buildable, meaning you have a ton of looks in this little palette. Each shade has a multi-dimensional shimmer that gives them depth. The gold is VERY gold, and for someone like me it is likely the hardest to wear shade, but the plum, brown, and even the green are very pretty on my fair skin. The green makes a phenomenal liner when used wet!

Verdict: So Susan Color Curate is always super fun, especially if you like unique shades and formulas from creative smaller brands. There is always value here, even if every product isn’t quite a win. I loved the lip product this month, as well as the super easy to wear liquid highlighter. I was less thrilled with the repeat of the same color and formula of the powdered highlighter, but it will go to a friend who will be thrilled with it. The eyeshadow palette was surprisingly wearable, and the colors made me really excited for spring and summer makeup looks. This month had a value of $100, which is (as usual) great for this $21 bag.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

  1. I have been very happy with this box, they send things I would normally not try on my own and for the price it’s not that big of a risk.

Last month they left the fan brush out of my bag, I emailed customer service and they said they would include it with my March bag. I was thinking that was not likely to happen.

My March bag came yesterday and it had my missing fan brush from February inside! Yay!

  2. I can’t wait for this bag to come! I get many compliments on my last lip patine, looking forward to getting another color.

I thought for sure I would have to gift the eye palette, now I am thinking it might actually work for me after all.

    Thanks for the review!

    • You are welcome Twyla! I was sure the palette would be too bold for me, but once I looked past the BRIGHT orange plastic the colors were pretty wearable! Hope you love it!

  3. Great review! I’m adding this box to my wish list.

    • It is pretty affordable for what you get! Let me know what you think if you get it 🙂

  4. Everything is so pretty and colorful!

  5. This needs to be corrected because they do not ship the subscription worldwide, only to the US. Worldwide you can order from their past boxes at a shocking increase in price ($45 vs. $20.95). Disappointed because it looked like fun.

    • Hey Ashley! Thanks for the heads up. I will make this change. <3

  6. I would love to swap for this month’s Patine and the one from January, too!

  7. While I want to love this subscription, I have never received any colors that suit my coloring…like EVER. For all those our there who look good in browns, corals, and not-jewel-toned colors, this box is great. For me, not so much.

  8. The Hermit Lip Patine photographed beautifully! I love that you can see what the red color looks like without the light hitting it & what it looks like when you can see the shimmer.

Megan, I’d love to see a photo of your eye look with the green shimmer! Sounds pretty!

  9. I would love to have this palette if anyone who wants to swap or sell it.

    • I would be happy to swap mine. I have way too many palettes right now that I haven’t even gotten around to using yet. I’ll list it as soon as I receive my box.

      • Cyndi, awesome, let me know what you are looking for, I have a lot of skincare and makeup and other stuff. I am too lazy to list everything but if you give me your swap profile I will check what you are following and list it.

P.S. My name should be linked to my swap profile.

        • How do you link to your swap profile or is it auto?

          • when you post comment, you have to fill out three boxes: name, email and website. you can add your swap profile link to website box

        • Hi Svetlana – I linked my swap profile to my name here. If you don’t mind saving the Lumify eye drops for me, that would be great. My Color Curate always comes early in the month; I’ll let you know as soon as it’s here.

          • Cindi, I follow you now. Eye drops are all yours, I even find more staff for you based on your listing.
