Naturisimo Reign Royal Discovery Box Review
This box didn’t come with a traditional info sheet, but it did come with a reminder to sign up for their newsletter. It looks like their discovery boxes will be offered monthly, which is a delight.
Neal’s Yard Remedies Frankincense Hydrating Cream, 15 g – Estimated Value $11.32 (Buy the full-size version for $37.72 / £30.00)
This is definitely a hydration cream- ingredients include sunflower oil, jojoba oil, aloe, and sweet almond oil, plus frankincense and myrrh oils. I am not sure what ingredient caused it, but once I applied, this actually made my face tingle slightly. It wasn’t an alarming, wash-this-off-me now tingle, but it was definitely something that I wasn’t expecting.
Aromatherapy Associates Deep Relax Bath & Shower Oil, 9 ml – Retail Value $14.40 (Buy a full-size 50 ml for $73.00)
It is probably a good thing I didn’t discover the magic that is Aromatherapy Associates sooner because they would have taken all of my money. This bath and shower oil smells incredible thanks to a blend of grapefruit, rosemary, and juniper, and it really is a refreshing blend. A little bit of this can be added to your bath water for deliciously scented moisture, but my favorite way to use this has been as a shower oil (I really do have enough bath oils). To use, I massage a capful into my torso and then breathe deeply. Then I step into my shower and let the hot water and steam do some magic! Once the scent blooms the grapefruit is very present, and it almost reminds me of a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice. The instructions say to use two capfuls but I have been having success with just one, which allows me to stretch this tiny bottle into 5 or 6 delightful showers. I included the retail price for the 9 ml as that size was originally available on their site, but has since been taken down.
Evolve Satin Body Gloss, 1 oz – Retail Value $14
I did not take the “gold sparkle” description seriously, so I was a bit dismayed when I sprayed this on one morning and saw that the body gloss was very copper. Luckily, it blends in with ease, but I didn’t find this body oil to be very hydrating- I definitely couldn’t use this on its own. I mixed this with a different body oil and I was happy with the subtle sheen it gave my skin, especially now that it is summer!
REN Clean Skincare Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask, 10 ml – Estimated Value $8.40 (Buy the full-size 50 ml version for $42)
I have tried this mask before, and I like to reach for it when I am dealing with hormonal breakouts (which are usually cystic, and therefore angry and not responsive to regular acne treatments). This has white mushroom extract and arnica, which are both ingredients known for soothing skin and reducing redness and inflammation.
MOA Green Bath Potion, 10 ml – Estimated Value $3.77 (Buy the full-size 100 ml version for $37.73 / £30)
Y’all know the way to my heart is through snacks and bath products, so I was excited to see this bath potion- which also has seriously gorgeous packaging for a sample (the vial is glass!). This is made with peppermint, fennel, fir needle, and sweet birch to ease achy muscles, and the aromatherapy benefits definitely help too.
Votary Super Seed Facial Oil, 2 ml – Estimated Value $4.40 (Buy the full-size 50 ml version for $110)
One of my favorite skincare accounts on Instagram swears by basically everything Votary, so I was so stoked to finally be able to try out this luxe brand. This is made with 21 different seed oils, and it absorbs almost instantly into my skin when I applied it. I am in love with this sample, but the full-size version definitely isn’t in the budget.
Aurelia Probiotic Skincare Aromatic Repair & Brighten Hand Cream, 0.24 oz – Estimated Value $3.92 (Buy the 2.5 oz version for $42)
This is definitely a pricey hand cream! This is made with red algae extract along with aloe and shea butter, and the scent is an intoxicating blend of vetiver, ylang-ylang, lavender, and patchouli. While it was rich, I didn’t think it left my hands greasy, which is always an impressive combination for a hand cream.
Odylique Timeless Rose Moisturiser, 1.5 ml – Estimated Value $1.57 (buy the 0.5 oz version for $16)
I don’t think anybody loves foil samples, but I can’t really complain too much when it comes in a box with 12 other items and free international shipping. If you don’t love the smell of rose I would skip this moisturizer. I appreciated how quickly this sank in while still leaving my face feeling plump and hydrated.
Pukka Vanilla Chai Tea – Buy a box of 20 tea bags for $4.61
I love Pukka teas (try their lemon, ginger, and manuka honey blend!), but this vanilla chai was a bit of a letdown. It didn’t have the bold flavors I crave from a chai, and it was honestly a bit bland.
Natural Deodorant Co. Active Deodorant Balm Orange Bergamot, 5 g – Retail Value $2.62 (£2.08)
I am in no rush to jump on the natural deodorant train, but even if I do board I have a hard time imagining I will be reaching for this balm. It smells nice and I thought it performed well, but there is something about rubbing this in that makes me squeamish. It isn’t the most logical feeling, so I will take my security blanket of a deodorant stick, please. This does have baking soda in it, for those who are sensitive to it.
Balmology Organic Cleansing Cloth – Buy a set of 5 for $27.66 (£22.00)
I will always take new face towels, and this one is especially thick and plush so it feels like a hug to my face when I use it. Now that I think about it, why don’t more beauty boxes include face towels? They’re so useful!
Nourish London Radiance Firming Facial Oil, 5 ml – Estimated Value $10.47 (Buy the 15 ml version for $31.43 / £25.00)
Nourish London is a brand I discovered thanks to these Naturisimo discovery boxes, and I am happy to try more from them. This oil is made with a whole host of oils like macadamia seed, sunflower, rosehip, and jojoba, and it feels just lovely when I press it into my skin as the last step in my nighttime skincare routine.
Boucleme Curl Conditioner, 3.3 oz – Retail Value $15
It is rare that I see products specifically for curly hair in subscription boxes, but I think this would work well for dry hair of all types- curly or not. This has insanely nourishing ingredients like coconut oil, aloe, honey, and argan oil, and my hair absolutely drank it up.
The Verdict: I think this box from Naturisimo was another winner! I loved being able to try so many high-quality products like the votary oil and the bath potion, and honestly, the biggest miss for me was the tea- which is nothing. I calculated a total estimated value of $90.87, which is well above the promised value of $82. Also, can we appreciate the fact that this box came with free international shipping? You go, Naturisimo!
