Margot Elena Discovery Spring March 2019 spring booklet cover

This box comes with a card detailing all of the items included. I am LIVING for the floral illustrations on this booklet.

We have so many pretty things to see.

Margot Elena Discovery Spring March 2019 small shower gel Margot Elena Discovery Spring March 2019 small shower gel back

Library of Flowers Shower Gel in True Vanilla, 2 fl oz - Estimated Value $5.50 (Buy a full size 8 fl oz here for $22.00)

Vanilla scents can be hit or miss, especially with so many overly sweet and artificial smelling versions out there. This gel gets it just right, not too sweet, but still sugary, warm, and floral. Vanilla comes from an orchid plant, so it should have a little bit of a flowery bite to it! This gel is very moisturizing but also leaves your skin feeling clean. It is a thicker formula, so a little goes a long way, especially on your favorite sponge or poof!

Margot Elena Discovery Spring March 2019 body scrub Margot Elena Discovery Spring March 2019 body scrub back

Library of Flowers Body Scrub in Willow & Water, 2 fl oz - Listed Value $5.50

There is something about this watery scent that triggers memories I just can't place. It smells like spring and water fountains in pools filled with blooming lilypads. It also has a current underneath of something more sophisticated, so don't be scared to try this if you normally lean away from such springy scents. This formula is super creamy and filled with little walnut shell pieces that gently exfoliate your skin.

Orange Blossom & Honey Face Mask, 2 oz - Retail Value $30.00

Gosh, everything in this box is so pretty! This peel has a soft scent of neroli blossoms mixed with creamy honey. Designed to be used as a bi-weekly peel/scrub, you leave it on for 10-15 minutes and then gently wash it away. It is filled with little speckles of dried blueberry that exfoliate your skin, and though it was a little bit of an effort to wash it away, that gave those blueberries time to do their magic and leave my skin feeling so smooth and calm. I generally avoid scrubs like this because I find them drying, but this one wasn't at all and I am thrilled to add it to my weekly routine.

Lollia This Moment Relaxing Eye Pillow - Retail Value $38.00

The amazing lavender scent of this eye pillow was the first thing that hit my nose when I opened my box. It is a blend of lavender and stimulating peppermint, though the mint is very mild and just gives the lavender a little complexity. The pillowcase itself is 100% cotton with a pretty texture. I love the screen printed botanical illustrations. The packaging comes with a little card you can write an intention on and then slide into the case. I imagine using this outside in the springtime, napping under my favorite tree in our backyard. Until then I can certainly use it for catnaps on the couch!

Lollia This Moment Perfumed Shower Gel, 8 fl oz - Retail Value $22.00

This Moment is a new scent from Margot and smells like water and sunshine, but very floral and a little green. Although it is a pretty sweet scent, it does have a base of amber which makes it a little more grown-up than my description makes it sound! It feels like those days right in-between spring and summer, where it is a little hot and a little chilly, but mostly sunny and filled with growing things. This shower gel is very similar in formula to the first one in this box, rich, thick, and cleansing.

Lollia This Moment Fine Foot Soak, 1.8 oz - Listed Value $8

I do love a foot soak. Again, Margot nails packaging in the form of this little stoppered test tube filled with perfumed salt crystals. These are also in the 'This Moment' scent, and though the smell is a little sharper straight out of the tube the scent is much more mellow when added to warm water.

The Cottage Greenhouse Carrot & Neroli Shea Butter Handcreme, 4 oz - Retail Value $24.00 (Currently sold out!)

Blame Oprah for this item being out of stock. It made her Favorite Things list! The fragrance is pure neroli with a green base. I can't tell if there is a carrot smell in there or if it is just my imagination. I love scents like this that are light and sunny, and layer well with the perfume I wear daily without making me, well, TOO smelly. The carrot oil paired with the base of shea is incredibly moisturizing and this cream absorbs easily without leaving behind greasiness.

Margot Elena Discovery Spring March 2019 bath oil Margot Elena Discovery Spring March 2019 bath oil back Margot Elena Discovery Spring March 2019 bath oil bottom

Library of Flowers Perfumed Bath Oil, 8 fl oz - Listed Value $24.00

This bottle is so pretty! If I saw this in someone's bathroom I would think they were, like, super fancy. and now since it goes in my bathroom I am the fancy one! This formula is really not so much oil as it is a water blend with glycerine and fragrance, meaning it absorbs very easily! The glycerine seals in moisture and it leaves my skin softly scented. I plan on using it as a little extra boost of hydration after a shower or bath. The Linden scent is a strong honey to my nose, with a backdrop of blooming bulb flowers.

Margot Elena Discovery Spring March 2019 lip balm with box Margot Elena Discovery Spring March 2019 open lip balm Margot Elena Discovery Spring March 2019 lip balm bottom

Tokyomilk Rose Water Bon BonLip Balm - Retail Value $10.00

I have bought this product before and loved it! The balm feels like pure velvet and the delicate rose scent is noticeable, but not overpowering. The pretty gold lidded glass pot is beautiful on a vanity or in my purse. It makes a great base for your fave lipstick.

Tokyomilk Honey & The Moon Travel Candle, 4 oz - Retail Value $12.00 (Currently sold out)

I am immediately drawn to the pretty bee illustration that graces this tin. The candle itself smells like honey with a little sugar, flowers, and woods. It is a soy wax, meaning it burns cleanly and evenly. Though this is a travel candle, I don't see it lasting long enough to leave my mantle!

Margot Elena Discovery Spring March 2019 pretty quote card Margot Elena Discovery Spring March 2019 back

Margot Elena Hand-Lettered Greeting Card with Gold Foil - Listed Value $5.00

Magot Elena designed this hand-lettered card and each letter has such pretty flower accents and metallic lines. This card would be a beautiful sentiment to send to someone who is going through a personal change or major life event and needs a little encouragement, that change often means growth!

Margot Elena Discovery Spring March 2019 art print Margot Elena Discovery Spring March 2019 art print detail

Margot Elena Hand-Lettered Print with Gold Foil - Listed Value $22.00

We also received a large art print of the same illustration. I tend to really like things like this and plan on framing it for my home as a gentle reminder to be open to change! I think it will be so pretty matted in a gilded thin gold frame.

Verdict: This is one of those boxes with an unboxing experience that even exceeds the product inside. Every single thing in it is gorgeously packaged and presented and feels very special. Even if some of the scents are not quite 'you', anything from this box would make a beautiful and thoughtful gift. I especially enjoyed the incredibly unique scents, particularly the Linden bath oil, neroli and orange hand cream, and the new 'This Moment' items. The eye pillow feels so luxurious and is a great addition to a pampered evening in. I can never have enough shower gel, so I was excited to get two variations this round, along with a body scrub. I appreciated how this box also included a few home items, such as the candle, card and art print. This box has a value of at least $200, meaning it is an incredible value for a $49 box, especially if you already love the Margot Elena brand!

I ordered this shortly after the review went up and they billed me for the spring box, I got a shipping number on the 21st but it hasn’t been checked in at fedex yet…. I just reached out to CS so hopefully I get an answer soon, since it seems like their CS dept is on top of it….

This is my first ME box and I could not be happier! Everything looks and smells so good. A few items are going to be gifts because it is such an embarrassment of riches. I am glad I got the annual subscription.

Reply ButtonReply

Adele

Love when they include shower gel and travel sizes! I prefer showers to baths and followed a suggestion on another website, after I take my shower, put the bath oil on, then do a quick rinse. My skin is soft and it smells so good! I received the field & flowers scent.

I was disappointed in the Winter box and tried to cancel this one but was billed the next day. I do like it a lot better than Winter – probably because there wasn’t any perfume in it and that it had a variety of products. I’m the most likely to use products for the shower and this box had three! I have trouble sleeping so I’m hoping the eye pillow helps. Unboxing was a great experience. I’m in product overload like everyone else but if I see a great spoiler for Summer….

If anyone happens to actually hate this box, I will so happily buy this off you. Signed up too late to get it and having major FOMO.

Bee

I guess I’m in the minority here, but personally this was my least favorite box that I’ve gotten (this is my 3rd). I love ME, and am so glad that they listen to feedback from here and social media as well as reply to comments. The customer service is GREAT.
This box, although a wonderful unboxing experience, let me down in the product department. I don’t wear eye masks as I can’t stand anything on my eyes (they’re very sensitive), and this is the second eyemask we have received. I love the fabric though, so I may repurpose it.
I like the print and the card design (ME has an eye for design ♥️) but I won’t probably use either.
My travel sized shower gel and body scrub were two different scents which is strange, and it took me a while to figure out they were a set on the info card.
The candle was my favorite item, I think. I love candles so much.
I also don’t use a bathtub, but I must say it does look pretty great having all the ME bath products next to it.
I’m not saying I hate the box, but for my preferences and what I will use it wasn’t a great value. I also missed the personal letter from ME, I was disappointed not receiving the story behind it. My shipping was also very slow compared to the usual home delivery it was sent smartpost. I know that they sent an email informing everyone of the delay but I’m not sure why they opted to send it a slower method after that?
All in all this box has me thinking if I’ll re-up when my sub runs out whereas before it was a sure thing. I do hope that the summer box wows me.
Please, bring back the letters! I miss them.

Your not alone. Although I don’t hate this box I felt it was underwhelming compared to past boxes. . This is only my second box and I loved winter and love the past boxes I have seen. Definitely going to stay and hope the next one is better.

I agree, I loved winter (although we seem to be a minority for that too) and I use the mug almost daily. The fall box was also pretty great with a wide variety of items and a really nice notebook— I love any kind of stationary! I am very much looking forward to what surprises ME has in store for the Summer of 2019. I just realized I got the 2018 summer box (it was before I got my annual) and if last year’s anything to go by I think we’re in for a real treat!

JennR

I just got my box today and I am beyond thrilled with it! Today it was very rainy, and I just sat inside all cozy while I opened everything. My first box had been the Winter box, which I finally signed up for after pining over previous boxes. I have to say, the Winter box was a bit of a let down. I’m not that fond of Wish, and we received four different products in that scent. Also, I was one of those who had no use for the kimono and thought the bell on a ribbon was an odd, throwaway inclusion. But this box? I’m in love with everything. I got really lucky and received the bath oil in the Honeycomb scent- wow! It reminds me very much of Tainted Love, one of my favorite fragrances from the TokyoMilk Dark line. The True Vanilla shower gel was another standout for me, along with the Carrot Neroli lotion. I was thrilled to get a candle in the Honey and The Moon scent from TokyoMilk, as I’ve had the perfume before. I already tried the face mask from The Cottage Greenhouse and fell in love with the smell and refreshing tingle when applied. The Lollia “This Moment” isn’t my favorite scent in the box, but for a floral scent it’s really well balanced and I still really like it. I’ve always enjoyed their lip balms, and the Rose Water one is beautiful. The eye pillow is an inclusion that makes sense, and I adore lavender. The print and care? Very pretty, but not something that is totally my style. But you know what? It doesn’t matter because I feel like I love everything. I have never been so pleased with a sub box. Please, take my $50.

I’ve been coveting this box since its inception! I finally signed up and this is my first one! So happy with it overall. All the packaging is beautiful, everything was carefully wrapped, the variety of products is good. I’m not big on word art but I am going to find a complimentary frame for that print and hang it in my bathroom.
One note- I really dislike rose scents and the lip balm rose scent pretty much went away after 5 minutes thank goodness~

I ordered my box on the weekend, and got a shipping notification on Monday morning. Four days later, my shipping status is still just that a label has been created. Anyone else in the same boat? I’m having FFF flashbacks.

Mine appeared to get stuck in the warehouse. I emailed after 5 days. They immediately sent it out with 2 day FedEx & I got it today!

Once it starts moving, it comes fairly quick. Hope you enjoy the box as much as I did!

Since no one has mentioned it, I will point out that the bath oil is LINDEN, which smells Amazing and the same scent we got the jar cream of in the fall! I just started using mine, and the scent is strong enough that I mixed it with my unscented Amlactin on my dry winter skin and it still smells wonderful. I love that they add different items from the same fragrance lines to send out in different seasons to compliment each other!

Reply ButtonReply

Jessica

I also got field of flowers and loved it..Be careful with ME’s cream perfumes and hand creams though, they all contain EDTA which is actually classified as a health priority and is cancerous and toxic…I was extremely disappointed when i found this out. Especially for the price point of her products..definitely not the “finest of ingredients”.

Reply ButtonReply

Jenae

EDTA’s have been flooded in the marketplace for decades. You’ll find it in the highest end of brands. It’s in our food, our eyedrops, truly, it’s everywhere. Everything that is not straight 100% natural, someone has something to say about it being cancerous and non toxic. I personally, am not going to sit around being scared of everything that can be harmful – I’d have to have my own farm, live off grid, and not rely on any local market store.

Brandi

The scents of the bath oil varied. I got Field and Flowers.

Reply ButtonReply

Taren

Do you like it? This was my fourth box and I cannot say their has been any I didn’t like so far!

R. Price

It was a decent box except for the lavender sleep pillow, and the new scent of this moment! It just isn’t for me personally. The candle has a strange scent, but tolerable! It may grow on me, itd be nice if the this moment scent grew on me too, but I dont think that’ll happen. Scent can be fickle and so different from one person to the next so its personal for me not liking it. Rest assured, I love Margot Elena so it’s no strike against her or her company or box! It’s a great box, but like many others can be hit or miss at times. Love ya Margot, keep killin it!

Reply ButtonReply

Katie

I’ve been a huge Margot Elena fan for years. I think I have a product or two from all of the different lines. But this was the first time I got the subscription box. I got it yesterday, and I am so impressed. the packaging is a treat from the outside of the box to all of the careful tissue paper and bubble wrap on the glass items. I tried the Water and Willow body wash and scrub and the foot soak in my bath last night. All of the products were lovely together without being overwhelming. I was super excited to get the Honey and the Moon candle as I love the scent. I’ve burned the candle in my office all day and people kept stopping by my desk to comment on how good it smelled. I’m definitely going to use everything in the box and might buy a second summer box to have for gifts.

Reply ButtonReply

Jean

I wonder if subscribers got random scents for the Library of Flowers products. My scrub and shower gel are both the Willow & Water scent and my shower oil is Field of Flowers. I agree this is a gorgeous box! I love dipping into my Margot Elena to supplement gifts – it instantly makes a present seem more luxurious.

Reply ButtonReply

Brandi

Yes, the Library of Flowers scents varied. I got the same ones as you. It seems most people got the Willow and Water scent for the body scrub and shower gel, but I have seen some in True Vanilla. I have seen Field and Flowers, Linden, and Honeycomb for the bath oil.

Reply ButtonReply

Marilyn

I haven’t seen my box yet, but looking at the reviews I’m very excited.

I hope Margot Elena knows there MUST be a candle in each box (I so look forward to it) and lotion & bath/shower gel.

I’m pleased for the eye pillow too. I think a nice small hero item would be thin summer socks – That we could put lotion on our feet & slip the socks on – to keep the lotion off carpet/sheets/etc. My feet get so rough in the summer with me going barefoot so much.

Reply ButtonReply

Theresa

This was such an amazing box! It is so much fun to open everything up, and that eye pillow, so calming! Love everything inside! So glad that I subscribed to Margot Elena’s Discovery Box!!

Reply ButtonReply

Redhed36

I received mine yesterday and I am pleased. I love opening these boxes because they always smell so lovely. I am glad there is no overpriced “hero” item. I like this box to stick to health and beauty items. I still don’t know what to do with that dang peacock thing.

Reply ButtonReply

JennR

Oh, girl…me neither. There are 60+ of them on the swap site. I even tried to give it to a couple close friends, and both were like, “Eh, thanks but no thanks. I would never wear it.”

Reply ButtonReply

Beth

I’m thrilled with this box, all of the scents are amazing! The eye pillow couldn’t have come at a better time, Really helping me sleep.

Reply ButtonReply

Tia

Looking to buy this box at cost plus shipping (can be sent in a priority box instead of this box if it doesn’t fit inside one of them). Let me know if anyone is interested. Looking to send to my mom for mothers day!

Reply ButtonReply

Lucia

I’d also check viewyourdeal and gmadeals regularly, because Margot Elena brands often have 50% off sales there around this time of year. Good luck!

Reply ButtonReply

Victoria

Same here, but I don’t think we’re going to have any luck since it’s such a hit! I did see a box on eBay yesterday for $100, but I don’t want it *that* much.

Reply ButtonReply

Tia

I saw that too. Kinda crazy to mark it up that much but hey still a discount I guess. If I don’t have any luck I might just get the summer box and have it be a late mothers day gift.

JennR

I just looked through this post again because I’m on pins and needles waiting for my box to arrive any day now. I just have to say that this is a nicely done review of this box. In previous ME reviews I kept being frustrated that the scents weren’t being discussed enough, especially the nuances of different notes. I mean fragrance is *the* number one thing about a ME box, and you did a good job giving it equal coverage along with talking about product performance. Thank you for giving this box the review it deserves!

Reply ButtonReply

Meg

I want this box! So sad it’s sold out! I wish they could do a restock like Sunday Riley did on their most recent box 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Kelly

I love this box! Most of the items are wonderful – I don’t think I’ll be able to gift many of the items because I want to keep them all!

The only things I didn’t like are the $22 hand lettered print and matching $5 card. It is just not my style. At least its not a $60 kimono. I like that there was no ‘high value’ item. Especially since I didn’t care for the kimono in the winter box.

Reply ButtonReply

Alex

Just got my box today and WOW. Everything smells good and is so beautiful. It’s box is flawless 🌸🌼

I just love this box. I cannot bare to part with anything as gifts. I think I gave a tiny soap from the first box away lol. I have been subscribed since day one. Keep up the AMAZING boxes ME.

Does anyone know how to do PayPal shipping? I find swapping heavy beauty products to be so expensive it’s not with it and wanted to give it a shot. Thank you!

Reply ButtonReply

Colleen

MSA needs to fix the link on the swap page for paypal shipping. If you google link to paypal shipping, there is a link on the paypal community site.
It is still expensive to ship, but at least you can compare whether it is cheaper to send via priority mail vs first class or parcel. Especially now that postage has gone up.
